    Natty Bumpo

    Hey Natty,

Thanks for the advise on Grand Hyatt.

I understand that Spasso is in Grand Hyatt and hence my interests in the hotel.

I have RTFF and my following questions are to get your opinion about BKK. I am only in BKK for three nights and I want to make the most of it. I usually stay at Sofitel at Sukhomvit and it is a hotel I like. I have stayed in Interncontiental and a few more hotels in BKK.

    1. Is Mixx about the same type of scene as Spasso? I assume it it a bunch of reasonable to good looking FL?

    2. Is Mixx located close to Spasso?

    3. My plan is to do a Smooci girl in the afternoon after a few hours of sleep. I arrive early morning after a long flight. Hit Spasso in the evening (I arrive on a Sat) and hopefully score a lady with great looks (I hope both I and she will be interested in LT). Wake up on Sun and let the Spasso lady blow me before I head out for breakfast. Sunday. Hit a MP (not sure which one, I have been to Bamboo and Snow White and I liked both but I may try a different MP). Have one of my regulars come and see me in the evening. Be with her Sunday night and hang out with her on Monday and do her Monday night too. Anyway my question / s are two fold: what do you think of my plan and how would your plan look like for three nights?

    Thanks!

    / Kirsia123.

So I can 1) be relatively close to Patpong (1 bts stop away), 2) can easily partake in my annual night or nights at Spasso and Mixx, and 3) use my annual free night vouchers with Marriott and Intercontintental. Now I am talking about spending 4 or 5 nights tops in this area out of the 5 or 6 weeks I usuually spend in BKK, so the change of scenary is good for me. I would not want to spend a higher percentage of my time in BKK in this neighborhood, however, because I think I would miss out on the good stuff happening on Sukhumvit Soi 4 to Soi 63 24/7 and frankly Ratchaprsong is kind of a boring neighborhood unless you are really into high end Malls or don't want to stay in the red light district.

For what it is worth, I really like the Grand Hyatt Jakarta. Its my favorite hotel in Jakarta. So I am sure the Grand Hyatt BKK is an excellent hotel. Be sure to visit Spasso and Mixx if you stay at the Grand Hyatt and remember the BTS works in both directions. Nana is just two stops East of Chit Lom station and Patpong is one stop south of Ratchadamri Station.

Food: EatThai, a very upscale and tasty foodcourt, is in the basement of the Cental Embassy Mall. And believe it or not, You & Mee Restaurant in the basement of the Grand Hyatt next to Spasso has some of the tastiest Khao Soi in the city.

"Yes" is the answer to your question.

Do a search on this thread.

There are lots of reviews. I always stay at Landmark and have reviewed it extensively. Go to Post 5668 on this thread to get started (5703,5713). Lots of other references to Landmark.

I have the same at my house. I refuse to go without it now. As far as living in a cold weather area and the water being too cold, I have never had that problem. I love that even the public toilets in the restrooms at the Narita airport have those nice washet toilets installed. I wish the USA would step into modern comfort and start having those as the norm. They help to avoid hemorrhoid problems as well.

    / Kirsia.
I stay at the Hyatt quite a lot, I'll actually be there Saturday night on a visa run from Pakistan. Haven't been to Spasso although I've walked by it a lot. I usually just take the train to Nana or Cowboy and a taxi back, although I have walked back from nana a couple of times when I haven't been out late and just feel like some exercise.

Terminal 21 hotel. Opposite to Cowboy and 10 min max to Nana. Most rooms also have a laundry machine so you can always walk outside fresh! And also has direct access to the mall which has a supermarket and a food court so food is always within 5 min from your room.

I usually stay at Sofitel and it has a good location in between Nana and Cowboy.

Let me know what you think?

    / Kirsia.

The Dawin at the quiet end of Soi 4 is also very nice. Belongs to the Dynasty group of hotels as well.
Standard Rooms are 1700 THB (weekends 2000 THB) but may not be suitable for those who like to take girls LT because the beds are quite small.

    Adelphi Suites Bangkok

Stayed here for a night, the hotel was splendid, at a perfect location and real VFM.

They offer free breakfast and 24 Hrs check-in. I checked-in around 11 pm and it was all smooth. The free breakfast is also great, you can prepare a free freshly cooked dish like Omelette or boiled egg for you.

Guests are always welcome and they call you before the guest comes and leaves, very secure. The location is pretty good but towards more closer to Nana Plaza. Many eatery options near by.

I'd consider staying there again, however I'd prefer booking in advance to get a cheaper price!

    Enjoy your trip!

Do you have a washer with warm water back home? Or do you live in a warm country?
A cold water washer would be literally a pain in the ass in my country in the winter time, LOL.

Be aware that there are 4 construction sites in soi 6 at the moment. And one of them is right next to Phachara Suites and another one is opposite Phachara Suites (next to the Dynasty Grande).
