Not sure what is your defintion of semi-pro. If you mean alternative way to meet pros apart from brothels, clubs or agencies, then it could be Tinder, Twitter or Milerotico.

Without getting into one of the many extended discussions on this board, I would described a Semi-Pro as a girl who is not working the brothels or Mileroticos, but rather doesn't mind hooking up with a gringo for extra needed dinero now and again. My experience is they are more relaxed, more interested in hanging and less "transactional" than pros.

In Medellin, you might say the Mansion chicas are borderline, but many are just pros.

Dude a girl did that to me once, at the Matum in Santiago. Wanted the beer, the mini bottle liquor, the Pringles, the Snicker bar, you name it. Ever since then when I check into a hotel, I empty the mini bar and hide the stuff even before I lock up my passport and wallet.

I don't think the letter of the law is your biggest problem. There's not a police officer in Colombia who knows all the laws, but that doesn't stop them from enforcing when they see something wrong. Having a lawyer prove you didn't violate any laws is small consolation after a few weeks (months or years) in a prison waiting for your lawyer to make your case.

Is that likely? Nope. But it all depends on who sees you.

Are you certain the girl is up for it? Chances are she'll agree to just about anything while she has those dollar signs in her eyes. Ask any of the guys who have pre-planned specific details. She'll remember how much you offered and forget just about everything else.

But, assuming she is willing to follow through, try some of the larger parks in the north of Bogota around dusk or just before sunrise. You might try the funicular up to Monserrate during the week. If you can get a deserted car, you may have time for a quick one. If you were in Medellin I'd suggest the Metrocable from the Santo Domingo station up to Parque Arvi. Weekdays you have a good chance a car to yourself and a 15 minute ride.

For someone who has never been to Colombia you certainly do know a lot of wrong information.

We went over this with you last year and you / re back repeating the same garbage. Bogota is a city of nearly 12 million people. Like any mega-city there are plenty of areas that should be avoided. For a tourist, that's pretty easy to do. As long as you stay out of those areas and you pay attention to what you are doing, Bogota is not an unsafe city. If you stay in the right areas, it's safer than most comparable north American cities. Does that mean you should stagger around drunk at 4 am? No. But if you use common sense, stay to the populated areas you have very little to worry about.

One reason you have very little to worry about is because of all those security guards and police officers. My last visit to Bogota, 7 weeks ago, I walked nearly 20 miles over 3 days and never felt the least bit threatened. I also rode the Transmilenio and hopped off at several different random stations, just to walk around for awhile to see the areas. I did this in the parts of the city that I know are not the areas to stay out of. No problems. I walked in the morning, afternoon, evening and at night up until almost midnight. Not once did I find myself the least bit uncomfortable or worried.

Wherever you are in Bogota (or any other Colombian city) you have very little to worry about from the police for dealing with prepagos. As long as you are not attempting something with girls who are under the legal age and you are not being stupid about it the police have better things to worry about. I've had police officers give a smile and wave while talking to obvious prostitutes a long way from the Zona de Tolerencia. I've had them walk by less than 2 feet away and not pay any attention at all.

Now to all those security guards that you are worried about checking a woman's ID. The only reason why any visitor to Colombia would worry about having a prepagos ID checked is if they are specifically searching for girls who are under the legal age. If that is what you are looking for, stay out of Colombia. I'm pretty sure you will not like the prisons. If that is not what you are looking for, then you have nothing to worry about. They are checking the cedula to protect you and to protect their property. Unless you plan to specifically find a building with no security (which seems strange considering you think Bogota is so incredibly dangerous), if you have a woman come to your room her cedula is going to be checked. It might even be photocopied, or held at the desk until she leaves. If you can't deal with that there are other options. You can go to a club, casa or massage parlor where you can do your thing on the premises. You can take whatever girl you want to a love motel. Of course they will still check your passport and herr cedula there, but they aren't about to call the police because somebody came to their motel to fuck. That's why they are in business.

Do yourself a favor. Stay home. You've been told all of this information several times already and you apparently can't grasp it.

I also prefer a security guard or front desk that takes the ID. If you talk to them when you arrive with the girl, you can ask them to check with you before she gets her ID back. This reduces the risk of petty theft.

95% of the time I stay downtown. When I meet chicks online and tell them I will be staying there they always say how dangerous it is and that I should stay somewhere else. When they come stay with me and we are out well past Jj's midnight hour I point out to them how peaceful the place is and there is no danger in sight. Sure we see a few dope fiends around but in 12 years none have ever said a word to me (exception is being in Santa Fe - they do come up to me there mumbling something or other but I usually just ignore them).

A couple trips ago me and a chick that came to see me from Bmanga were walking back to the hotel at 2 am. In front of Transmilenio San Diego I saw a barber shop open. Actually it appeared that the guy and his friend were just drinking and relaxing. Not knowing where my next haircut would come from, we turned back and I asked the guy if he could cut me up. Sure, he said. That guy now has a customer for life. As we walked back to the hotel I told my girl see no danger downtown and I was able to get a haircut at 2 am. This beats all. She is a beautician so when we got back to the room she got into the shower with me and washed my hair.

I don't know how harsh the penalty is to see workers outside the designated zone or if it is enforced at all but I can understand why someone not being comfortable with guards watching over who comes to my room or worse ask for her ID. I am though aware that in Colombia all hotels and buildings have guards even those rented through airbnb likely because the city is so unsafe that having guards is a must.

The only way I can see this being true, is for street walkers and soliciting on the street.

It wasn't meant as a news! Fake or real. It was what I read on the internet that prostitution is legal in Colombia but only in designated areas. If it is fake then sue Wikipedia!
