Tagged is a chat app that is used more in Latin America and many working girls use it in places like the Dominican Republic. Mocospace is used allot in the United States for underground activity, you guessed it. Both of these apps have allot of users from Mexico and is much better in Mexico compared to Match and POF, which are the standards for dating in the United States. I am in there now and it looks like these are the chosen apps for girls in Nuevo Laredo as well. They are not there putting ads up, but these are allot more realistic as far as your every day girls next door in Nuevo Laredo including lots of hotties. I am not saying its safe and I have never dated any Mexican girl on there but I just wanted to spread the word and each person can see how far they can go in these apps.

The absolute only way I will show anyone around boystown is you pay taxi there, and wait time for him to bring us back. My opinion of Boystown is that it is not worth the time, nor effort. However some guys swear by it. To each his own. I can show you around downtown, takes very little time, as many bars are closed. Most guys gain a feel in a very short time and realize they can do this on their own, which is cool by me, very cool. Talk to some girls, you will gain confidence quickly, even with limited Spanish on your part, and limited English on theirs. They know what you came for.

Is it better to be white or look mestizo? Is a person who is tan and looks mestizo as opposed to white going to be hassled less by street vendors and attract less attention? Is it better to look tan and mestizo and blend into the native population, ethnically?

If I make it to NL I will pm you and I will stop at wal-mart and pick up some food and drinks and invite you to my hotel since I can't go to bars. My worry is that since I don't mesh well with the bar scene that I will have an awkward time there. However, if I could go, your beers would be on me the whole time.

I am curious if the recent deportations of people who once cross into the US from NL illegally and deported back to where they first crossed into the US. I imagine that there are those deportees trying to earn a living downtown? I hear that they end up becoming forced labor to the cartels. Then after some time, some of them vanish without a trace. Is that affecting the P4P street / bar action? By the looks of it, there are allot more deportations on the way.

I can assure if I introduce you to people, people that know me, that will not happen here. Unless you totally ignore what I tell you, then you are on your own. My connections go deep here, way deeper than I can describe openly, or at all, in some cases. No matter with girls, they are independent, so you're negotiation skills need to be on alert. Given a chance, they will rip you off in a heartbeat. They know, your word against theirs, buyer beware. I have negotiated BBBJ, only to have a girl insist a condom, fired, on the spot, break the deal, no deal. Out and now. I speak very passable Spanish, not 100% as I am extremely hard of hearing, but good enough to negotiate with bar girls. I have respect with almost everyone here, they know me, they know my friends. When I was in monterrey and I was a victim of extortion because one of the girls I was with accused me of something that I didn't do and demanded 4 thousand dollars. I had to move and luckily a mutual friends did protect me and help me with new friends. I was a really easy target because I was alone and spending lots of cash.

One thing I learned from being in Monterrey for several months is that if you make friends, those friends can and will eventually try to scam you one way or another because we are just walking ATM machines to them. I made the mistake of making good friends but eventually some of those people will try to set you up, up to several thousand dollars. There are very clever ways they extort money and their families will be in on it too.

Hard answer, I know people here, that I can, and do, trust with my life. Others I trust about as far as I can throw them. It can take years to build a real trust, or just a few weeks, it's all in the actions of the people that you meet. I walk into some bars, the only gringo in sight, before I sit down I have a beer in hand, some times paid for, and some times because they know what I drink. Best I can say, is trust no one until you know them, and they prove trustworthy. If you are a stranger, in a low life area, everyone is your "friend". Do not believe anyone that calls you amigo that does not know you, they are trying to gain your confidence, without earning it.

Very very true statement man!

They see me and even tho I speak Spanish pretty good, they can pick out I'm a Chicano or Hispanic "werito".

And people I've never seen in my life at some of the bars will come up t me and be like "Hello, meee frrrriiien, ju rememberer me. I'm "insert name)" and try talking to you and will get you anything under the sun for a price of course and a few beers. And this is in acuna way smaller than NL but the scam still happens.

Is my plan good? I don't speak Spanish, and I will be alone. I will go to Emilianos bar and try to monger outside of it. Will I be putting myself in danger? If I am confronted by police do I immediately give them money to avoid being thrown in the Mexican jail?

Cops don't normally mess with Americans in the open. Avoid walking alone on the back streets and you'll be fine. If you look like an easy target, you can easily be one. I see guys walking girls back to the hotel Fiesta every day, and yet to see a problem. However, knowing what I do, having seen what I have seen, I would never do that. I would just ask them to meet me at the Fiesta.
