Wonder how the girls at Carolinas and the other places did during Irma. Might have been interesting to hunker down with 1-2 of them back in a solid hotel room during this time.

SMDH. Folks losing lives and property. Who would think about being in a room with hookers at such a drastic time. And when it is over and you walk outside to total destruction, then what?

It's eerie for me to see all those photos and video of St Maarten after Irma since I was just there a few months ago. They say 95% of the buildings had damage so I would assume that the bigger hotels were probably least affected while those smaller, less solid buildings got wiped out. I would think that the dive shop on the beach near where I stayed at the Atrium Resort is no longer operational, never mind their dive boats. Probably same thing for that open air seafood restaurant down the street.

Got through the storm with no issues at all, other than the power being out. But I have a generator so all is well. The AMPS should be open by tomorrow for a little stress release.

I like Aruba for many other things along with a side of pussy, but Campo is still my version of heaven. But unfortunately, I don't see either one in my near future.

The DR is a strong probability. Went there with the warden for some new business ventures a couple months ago and need to return soon, but the warden will stay at home. I had dinner with one of my contacts and his family at their home. His sister is a stunner. Drop dead gorgeous spinner, intelligent and speaks fluent English. He let me know that if I return solo I could stay at their house and that his sister likes me alot. Enough that I would be sleeping with her. Hard to pass up a deal like that.

Not the kind of screwing I want from a gal named Irma, but I'm getting fcuked by her anyway. I live smack dab at the point of expected landfall in SW Florida. But, I am well prepared and battened down tight. I should be fine, but can't say the same for many of my neighbors who are not properly prepared.

Glad to see you are safe. I guess Curacao will be the place in the Caribbean for a while until things get repaired in SXM.

I would not expect any tourism in SXM for at least several months and probably longer. The airport is destroyed, the cruiseport is trashed, and downtown p-burg is under several feet of sand. Marigot and Grand Case are 95% gone. It will be a few years before they are anywhere close to normal.

Time to look at Aruba, Curacao and maybe the DR for mongering trips.

Glad you are OK. I can't imagine how many millions of dollars worth of boats got destroyed in this.

Hope this works out. Here is a current view after the hurricane of the drive past LE Petit. I tried using Buck On89 report #63 under Reports of Distinction, to do a side by side comparison to see if it is still standing, but I could not determine. But some of the other pics and videos show a lot of destruction. An owner of Sonesta Maho says on their web site they will be closed until 2018! Another smaller hotel said the same thing. Closed until High season. My November is trip is up in the air since I have not heard from the 3 places I stay yet are OK. Still waiting.

The pictures and footage coming out from st Maarten are not good, the airport is trashed. Marigot is under a 3-6ft of water.

Going be months before it's back up and going.
