You can't just read a list of Thai phrases and expect to be able to use them with Thai girls. There is a major issue. Many Thai words have vowel sounds that are not so similar to English or American vowels. They are closer to German vowel sounds, but still the odd strange one. There are also 3 consonant sounds not really in English and others like G, L and R vary from English way. Finally there are 5 different tones to deal with, and only low tone is really like English way of speaking. Even making syllables long or short can be tricky as a learner.

So hearing Thai spoken is critical, and in a quiet environment. Our ears can't even hear Thai correctly. You need a teacher at the start to help you change your pronunciation to get it close to understandable. It is possible for a Thai girl to teach you, if she is very patient and speaks slowly and clearly.

You are probably much better of with Thai girls that can speak English. Although 25 years ago I spent much time with Thai girls with virtually zero English, that forced my Thai to progress.

Some day I will post a list of sexual words and phrases here, but it will be intended for those who can already speak Thai a bit or understand Thai pronunciation.

Took me six months to get a really good grip on Thai pronunciation and that was at age 35. It is not that easy. After understanding pronunciation, the rest starts to come easy. Grammar is very simple, it's just Vocab after that. 25 years later, I am still studying Thai Vocab.

Here is a website for Thai Sexual phrases:
    http://www.thai-language.com/id/589875

Paiboon Thai-English-Thai Talking Dic. App is very good and has some sections that include phrases on various topics, including for chatting to girls I think. However it is not a teaching of basics thing. More a good reference dictionary.

    Awesome!!

Woods bar is the one I've heard about the most. Will check it out tonight!

Will send you PM, as I didn't think links were allowed.

Thanks a lot for the info. Is it necessary to buy a drink for yourself or a lady drink in these places?

    Thermae update Tuesday Sep. 26

Arrived around 8:30 pm. I was surprised to see how many girls were already available. Some still doing their make up on the floor. I was even more surprised how few guys there were. Even until I left around 10 pm there were very few guys. Since a hot topic about Thermae is whether farang or Indian men are welcome. All farang and indian men I saw in there seemed to be able to talk to the girls they approached. Saw a girl or should I say lady since she looked 40+ and an indian guy spend over an hour together in the middle section.

As usual, the best area is on the left side as you walk in from Sukhumvit. From the cashier to about half way down the wall. Maybe 5 or 6 girls I would have taken from that section. I noticed a couple of very petite girls under 145 cm. Both very very good looking and young looking. Both were snatched within a minute of hitting the floor by a Japanese perv. One literally within seconds.

All in all the talent was down from my last visit about 6 months ago. Maybe because I recognize over half of the girls in the place. There were still 10 girls I could have easily went with. I decided not to go with anyone since I wanted to go to Soi Cowboy. I'll be back in a week or so.

There is a free version of it but I don't think the free one has words and phrases related to dating and a few other useful categories.
Agree this is a good app. It's around 150 baht to purchase.

Would like nice recos for places I can safely go to without being turned away.

P.S. I am a clean white looking, good looking Brit-Indian.

Are you talking about Thai words and phrases for ordinary meeting, greeting and conversation type communication or words and phrases specific to sex, sex acts and the P4P scene?

I have never encountered a useful one for the latter (the sex phrasebook) but would download and install such an app if there was one. I have seen various written phrases here and there on these sites. But nothing like an app where there is a recording of a native Thai speaker saying it clearly and accurately.

However, there are several apps that do that kind of thing for ordinary meeting, greeting and communication words and phrases.

P.S. - I am clean (bathe at least once a month), white (depending on how long I have been in the sun), and a God damn good looking man (depending on lighting, not that I can always depend on that lighting).

Do you think I have a chance of getting a BJ there? This is truly a conundrum.

    Thanks in advance.

Well my mom is a travel agent and she booked the hotel for me and as a mother she does not wants me to stay in a non guest friendly hotel, she didn't want me to go Thailand in the first place, but I got a very good deal for stopping over for 3 days in the same price of my tickets back from Hong Kong.

Someone mentioned that Twister is a good and a friendly place, so I will surely try that. Any other recommendations for first timers?

Any idea how are the "Arab" ladies outside Grace hotel? Has anyone tried them? What about the CIS street hookers around that area?

Since the past 1 week I have been just reading and reading and I am kinda nervous about the whole thing. My hotel charges around 1000 bht as a joiner fee, so any recommendation about a good ST hotel near NANA?

Again Thank You and I will surely share my experience once I go and come back from Thailand.

I think Indians are welcome in almost all oily and soapy massage places in BKK. You might like the experience of choosing the girl you want from a selection My advice is to do like I do, which is to clean yourself up, wear decent clothes along with a smile, don't be pushy and go with the flow of the girl, which will result in a better experience.
