    Nana Hotel

Fourteen years since my first trip to Bangkok and I have just booked the Nana Hotel for a couple of nights at the end of the month. .

It is an itch that has to be scratched, although in the past I have had breakfast there, been to the nightclub, Angels? And had a massage and ball shaving with a lovely called Pimm.

I have read various forums and booked with the hotel direct a Superior room which at 1690 inc tax and brekkie is a good deal for the location.

I just don't fancy walking too far in the Bangkok heat and I certainly will not have to walk too far from The Nana. .

My question is this, being an older in great shape white guy, grey hair and a mustache, If a lady refuses you do all the ladies pick up on that and also ignore you? I will say it is the best looking group of ladies I have seen in Bkk. Please advise. BTW, I walked outside an took an FL, that was a great ride 2 hrs, 1500 baht.

I don't think it matters to the other ladies if one lady refuses you. Unless the lady is well known by everyone never to accept a Farang, most of the rest of them would have no idea who rejected who in that discussion or why anyway. And that assumes more than a few of them were even paying attention rather than trying to catch the eye of some other potential customer in the room.

Your question suggests you only spoke with that one girl and did not try another. Otherwise, you would have had more info on whether that first discussion/refusal mattered or not, right? Based on the description of yourself, I think you would have been successful in getting a taker within the next 2-3 girls you chatted up. The FL you took outside and had a great time with might very well have been standing in Thermae 30 minutes earlier or was planning to go in there later.

I am also an older Farang guy (64), in pretty good shape although I have never used the word "great" (LOL) as you did and when I walk the horseshoe I get dozens of inviting smiles and unblinking looks from lovely young girls on both sides and ends of that room, all the way around. That was true as recently as a week ago. Any night I have been intent on taking a girl from Thermae I have been able to do so and can't remember the last time it required chatting up more than two of them to make that happen over the past few years. And I am not talking about the older, less attractive ladies there. However, there might be things that set us apart that you mentioned and one that you did not mention. Maybe they matter a little, but no way to know for sure. Some things that set us apart (but still might not matter one whit really) is my hair is not grey because I chemically darken out the grey, I don't have a mustache, I don't think it has ever occurred to me to approach a Thermae girl by asking her the question you asked, I usually approach by at least trying to say Hello in Thai (Sawatdee khrup).

Further, I am smiling when I walk into the place and look confidently yet non aggressively around the room, continue smiling at least a little bit while I walk the horseshoe and definitely smile even more when I approach a girl and say Hello to her. That is the one thing you didn't mention that I believe really does make a big difference when it comes to Farangs. It might not matter when the most grim-faced, serious looking old Japanese dudes slouch over to the hottest girl in the room. But we Farangs need to assure these girls we are light-hearted, not too critical and ready to have a pleasant if not a genuinely fun time, imo. Smile. A lot.

Guess this should have been in the General or Bangkok Reports thread. But the question was asked here.

S Sukhumvit is a good choice. Safe in room as well. Very girl friendly, never had even a peep from anyone when bringing girls back.

    S Sukhumvit or Ruamchitt

Based on good feedback on this forum, shortened the list down to the S Sukhumvit & Ruamchitt Plaza.

Can't decide on either one, both are closer to NEP / Soi Cowboy.

Ruamchitt has a slight advantage since it is located in the dead center.

Price wise, there is not a big difference between the two.

Just looking for a clean no frills place, good breakfast is a must. Of course has to be girls friendly and I believe both are.

Please suggest if there is anything that I need to consider before making a choice. Promise to provide feedback after the visit.

    Cheers!
I haven't been in a room in Ruamchitt in many years but from what I hear the rooms at S Sukhumvit are much nicer. Ruamchitt used to be pretty dumpy. I stayed at S Sukhumvit a few months ago. S Sukhumvit has a much better location although Ruamchitt is good also. Sukhumvit is a 1 minute walk to Soi Cowboy. The hotel is next to the BTS Asoke station, the MRT Sukhumvit subway station and practically across the street from Terminal 21. S Sukhumvit recently changed their name to Sukhumvit Suites. IMHO Sukhumvit Suites is a much better choice.

S Sukhumvit is far better than Ruamchitt. I stayed there and it's has a good ambiance and guest friendly.

Dinotrex, the Landmark is not directly across the street from Thermae but it is close enough. Landmark is pricey but the location is great. Almost all of the places you read about here are located very close to each other. Be sure to cross Sukhumvit and visit Soi 7/1 and Soi 11. Most hotels have only a few USA TV stations so don't get your hopes up too high for TV.

Get the Corner Suite. Nice coach / sitting area. The actual suites aren't configured great so although a lot bigger-not as comfy. No need for the club level, plenty of good breakfast places around. I personally walk to Cafe Tartine, nice sandwiches and croissants. Should be about USD $150. Get access to great gym next door as well. Pool is just OK, nothing like T21.

At night, one usually has to have the girl show ID and they write down her info. Dinotrex, please find out if they have a minimum age restriction.

Plenty of SW / FL around nana all the way to Thermae. Careful though, it's gets dark in those alleyways and tough to spot those.

    Ladyboys. Safe travels.

It is a Monger's Hotel, not a family Hotel. Anyway you obviously don't want it, seeking something more up market it seems.

Personally I prefer to waste money on girls more than expensive Hotels. However each to their own priorities. I used to stay in classy Hotels when they have a good price, like Column Hotel (a big favourite). Unfortunately they rarely have a special these days.

It is definitely not adventurous to stay in Terminal 21. Just get it straight what you are seeking actually. Personally I prefer to stay closer to Cowboy and to the MRT (underground) and to the major Massage shops area, as traffic in the below Soi 21 district is pretty jammed up and I rarely need to go down that area. If I want to go to Nana I use a motorbike for short distance or the BTS. Soi 4 is problematic for Taxis as they can't turn tight out of Soi 4 nor turn right into Soi 4. There are some tricks to overcome the limitations but I still prefer not to stay in Soi 4.

Can anyone recommend a good, clean, safe and cheap hotel close to BKK airport, arriving late and will probably take taxi to Pattaya next morning.

To kill time, I walked to Nana Plaza and went straight to Bangkok Bunnies. I loved the welcoming atmosphere at the club and decided to linger around until 9 pm. At this point, a very cute girl who's name she said was 'Ba' stopped by and asked for a lady drink. I bought her one with the intention of barfining her later. We were able to hold a conversation without getting bored and discussed her fee to go back to my hotel. She quoted 2500 B for an hour or 2 and 4000 B for overnight. I thought it was reasonable and told her I will come back after checking out the action inside the club.
    That would be "Crazy House".

It is not normal protocol to discuss price for the night with a lady if you are not going to take her. Experienced mongers would probably not do that. Perhaps more applicable if you go shopping. Thais don't like it if people are asking the price when they don't want to buy. However I appreciate you wanted to see what prices you could get.

    "Ba" means crazy (sometimes) LOL.
