I take a VIP bus from Penang 8 yr ago nice 27 seat bus form Komtar is less than 4 HR cost 30 rm direct with stop at the border Immigration, train in Thailand is old and slow it is more comfort to take the bus I think a few company have this route there also bus from butter worth to Hat Yai also.
