A few years ago one of the fishermen from Charamicos took me out with him in his 18 foot open boat. I'd been out with him a few times before, and we'd never caught anything. So I used to joke with him about that. He had no real fishing gear just a long line wrapped around some wheel with a big hook on the end, we'd troll it around the bay for an hour or so.
Coming back in the surf was high and we had difficulty finding a safe spot to beach. After a while he made a run but a breaker caught us and we overturned. I wasn't in the best shape at that time and of course we had no life jackets. I felt these hands grab me and start pulling me to shore. He dumped me on the beach.
Meanwhile he had ignored the most precious thing he owned, his entire living, the boat and his precious motor which were barely floating upside down off shore, just to make sure I was OK.
The locals came running down to the beach to help get the boat upright. They got the water out, and left him to deal with the motor. I watched from a family beach picnic his off shore attempts to get the motor started in the hot sun.
A couple of hours of pulling the outboard starter cord in the blazing hot sun. He was a big man. He just would give up!
Finally, almost impossibly, we heard the waterlogged motor come to life, and the whole party yelled and cheered and raised our beer to him.
After experiences like these, I get a mite antsy when some a-hole stereotypes and tars Dominicans as thieves, smelly skanks and hustlers.
There's good and bad everywhere, and you ARE known by the company you keep. The birds of a feather thing!

I have no desire to go to the other monger spots. Sosua gives me everything I want. I have a bucket list that I do on every trip that satisfies me every time. 1st the women are awesome. You have a rainbow of options. Young tall short light and dark. The girls are awesome. The ease of access is unbelievable. You can walk everywhere. The food is great Baileys Sinatra's and German grill always satisfy. Finally the beaches Caberetti is my favorite but Sosua beach can be a great hangout with the guys. Lastly, the other guys make the place feel like home. There always new friends to hang out with. I love the place with all the familiar faces.

I don't normally have intercourse without one on. I'm not too worried about STD's. It's the babies I'm worried about. I have personally noticed though, that once you get a relationship going with these girls from the DR, they will request sex without you using a condom because it's more intimate for them. I guess one passes some trust test or something when the give you the OK not to wear one. Still, can't really trust them totally when they request this. They might want a baby for reasons of financial gain.

Thanks in advance.

I just got back from a quick apartment hunting week, no sport fucking, not much happening.
A Real Estate chica I knew called on my last day and reminded me we had made an appointment to look at an apartment in Cabarete. I'd already written off Cabarete, so I said no thanks. I had second thoughts, she was hot, and all I had planned was a pizza at Bailey's. I called her back so she picked me up and off we went.
I said if she was hungry I would buy her lunch in Cabarete for her trouble, and yes she was hungry. We go look at a place I wasn't really interested in but we chatted to a lot of people she knew.
We headed out of Cabarete towards Sosua, and I said what about our lunch?
She smiled and about halfway to Sosua she turned left up a farm road and suddenly in the jungle there is was, a big shack, with a bar set up, one big covered area, with just one big table, and on the table were two wine glasses and napkins. Looks like we were expected! She knew the chica that ran the place! Some of you more adventurous guys out there may know where it is! no banios for hombres just the bushes!
Anyway had great fresh pescada, lots of beer, and she had lots of wine, we partied with some locals, and then headed back to town. Stopped at another bar in Sosua and more musica, dancing and partying. Bottom line, second time in a month that a business trip turned into a party on my last day! Second time I came home, hung over!
General observations lots of chicas, but locals complaining about slow business. A buyers market, except for rental apartments over the winter that fetch exhorbitant prices, if you want to be in town with a little security!
Locals friendly and helpful, matter of fact my very well connected local real estate chica could not start her car after stopping at the second bar. She had her chicos running around but nothing was happening.
I called my old motconcho pal (now taxidriver) Alberto, and he cleared the decks and fixed the starter / battery problem, in about 15 minutes. and wouldn't take a propina. I've known him years, he has no english and I have no real spanish, but I'd trust him with my life!
The real estate chica looked at this tourist gringo, a little differently after that! LOL.
Sosua is the only place for me. I came back to cold weather, a completely dysfunctional third world chaotic airport, and traffick gridlock on my ten mile journey from the airport to home. Don't recall a smiling face even from my road rage cab driver!
