Yes, it is a secret. I don't like to popularise my favorite hotels. A few years ago I arrived in Pattaya three days before Christmas and this guesthouse that I normally stay in was full. They found me another place close by so I paid for three days up till Christmas Day. Then I went down on Christmas morning to extend my stay but they said sorry your room has been booked by someone else and you have to leave. Well, I spent hours trying to find another room, carrying all my gear on my back in the hot sun. All hotels said the same thing: sorry full. I was just about to give up in despair when I decided to try the Siam Sawasdee as it was big, and yes they had an available room. But I had to buy the silly New Years dinner which was compulsory. Decided to stump up the cash in case I ended up homeless again. So that is why I don't like to promote my favorite hotel: in case you get the last room.
But I think that the accomodation situation in the high season has lightened up somewhat over the last few years. Supply may be exceeding demand these days. I think it has to do with the collapse of the rouble and the diminishing number of Russian tourists mainly?

The restaurant that you (OldNewGuy) mention sounds interesting. I will go there for lunch next time I'm in town. Going there for dinner is a pain in the ass I think, with the traffic jams in the late afternoon / early evening.
Buffet restaurants are food courts? Are they serving good food? I'm not really impressed by the quality of the food in food courts most of the time.

Like Franga was saying, the place where I stay I think the rooms rent for 500 baht/day, but since I have a long term lease of 6 months or more I pay 4500/month. It was built in 2008 and about 3 years ago they added a new building where the rooms rent for like 6000/month. This is the website that I found my place on 8 years ago. http://www.soidb.com/pattaya/apartment/index.html
That is why reports on people paying a chick 1 month's rent for one night blow me away. Imagine if your job back home paid you 1 month's rent for 1 day. Not about being a cheap charlie or the price police, but Pattaya is not an expensive place to live in. Now if you insist on a 30,000 baht/month condo that is possible too, but 99.9% of the Thai chicks are not living that way. (As I said before one chick that I have talked to in my building works at Sapphire Agogo.) And you can also rent a 3BR house in East Pattaya for 10,000 baht/month if that floats your boat..

For the water, I fill up at the water stations located all around where you get 6 liters for 5 baht or one liter for one baht. You need your own 6 liter container though. Either buy an initial one for around 35 baht I think (in 7/11 etc), or where I stay departing residents leave their containers behind and future guests can grab one and fill it up. I have never had any problems with the quality of the water in these little water stations. It's a great bargain, and certainly beats buying water at the convenience stores every few days.
For the accommodation, I cannot reveal the exact place, but it is in the Soi Buakhao area. The room is quite good as it is old style and measures around 30 m square. There is a double bed, Cable TV (sophon), aircon, medium sized fridge, a small desk and reasonable wifi. The bathroom is largish with an electric hot water heater. There is no cleaning service though. Yes you can bring girls back there, though I prefer to use ST rooms with ST freelancers so that they can make a mess there rather than in my room. There are a lot of these deals around I think. I find that renting by the month halves your accommodation cost compared to renting on a daily basis. The downside of the Soi Buakhao area is the lack of sidewalks for pedestrians until you hit second Road.
For food, sometimes for lunch I would head to Big see on Klang and get a very filling Chicken Curry meal with small ice coffee for 80 baht. That has brought the meal average down. So usually the dinner meal would usually be around 220 baht, but sometimes it would be 150 baht if only spag bol plus iced coffee.

Personally, I'm done living on a tight budget and never kept a detailed record, but it's absolutely possible to spend very little here if you have modest demands.

Posts: 343Pattaya Expenditures Report for one month.
I have just spent 30 days in Pattaya. I kept track of all my expenditures and here are the results. I don't do gogo bars or beer bars, and I rent an economical guesthouse room on a monthly basis. I mostly made my own breakfast and lunch but ate out every night. Flights in and out are not included.
I had 13 sexual encounters which included 2 HJ's. These were from Beach Rd FL's or the Chaiyapoon massage parlor area. I only fuck when horny and so this averaged out to 1 fuck / HJ every 2. 3 days.
While I find this can be annoyingly frustrating during the wait time to regain horniness, it also results in a great fuck when the time comes and is certainly cost-effective, as sex is the most expensive item on the menu in Pattaya.
Sex: 12530 baht in 13 encounters = 964 baht average / encounter. ($392 usd total).
Massage: 400 baht for 1 oilie. (included a 100 baht tip).
Room (w. Elec / water): 6760 baht for 30 days= 225 baht per day av. = $7 usd / day ($211 usd total).
Restaurants: 5060 baht for 35 meals = 145 baht per meal ($4. 5 usd each av.) (total $158 usd).
Groceries 5170 baht = $162 usd total.
Water for drinking: 35 baht for 30 liters at 5 baht per 6 liters= $1.10 usd total.
Songthaews: 320 baht at 10 baht / ride ($10 usd total).
Minivan in (Utapao): 250 baht ($8 usd).
Bus out (Morchit): 117 baht ($3.7 usd).
Taxi Morchit to DMueng: 150 baht ($4. 70 usd).
This all totals 30,792 baht spent in 30 days = 1026 baht per day on average. So in US dollars, at 32 baht exchange rate = $964 usd = $32.12 usd per day on average.

Yes, they are available online. You can do a general web search, and eBay and Amazon sell them. Feel free to PM me for more information. Don't scrimp on money here. Get a large, heavy one for endurance training. Unless you have a woman at home who is available at your beck and call, they will help for LOS mongering trips.

She does have an open mind, she likes porn, she is definitely sexually deprived, she lives with her brother and sister-in-law, she is a college graduate, she is smart and very soft spoken, and I have never caught her in a lie or where she changed her stories. I can call her at any hour and she answers and she will video chat with me so there is simply no way she is seeing others. (She could not make the same claim about me!) I have heard of surgery to restore one's hymen, but I see no signs of that. Everything about her shows she is a nice, old fashioned, soft spoken, intelligent woman. And I have befriended other Thai women who claim to have not lost their virginities until their 30's, and given they were quite honest in other things, I have no reason to doubt them.
While I am happy to have been her first, there is really no male pride or ego with it. I befriended her online back in 2012, then did not see her until 2015. I spent that time ensuring she was honest and might possibly be suitable as a long-term mate. It took another 2-1/2 years after meeting her to break through. Getting her virginity was an ordeal. When I was finally inside her (there was no popping. T was just hard to get in and penetrate) it was with a feeling of relief rather than a sense of pride and pleasure. Rather, it was with some disappointment as well, and then me thinking about how awesome a couple of Pattaya hookers felt when I went BB with them. So, my girl is hurting, putting up with pain to please me, and I am thinking about hookers. Sigh.
