Only under very special conditions the fare will be 10 Euros from Sharks to Darmstadt HBF in the night. Usually the fare is between 10,60 and 11,40. My impression is, that certain taxi drivers prefer to drive slowly and when leaving Sharks, turn to the left. This route is full of red traffic lights.

If you are lucky and enter a taxi with a taxi driver who turns to the right when leaving Sharks, and if he drives fast, and if he stops directly in front of the station and not where all the taxis wait, it will be 10 Euros.

The way from mainstation to Sharks during the day can be more expensive due to traffic and again lots of red traffic lights.

But what are we talking about? One or two Euro, maximum 3 Euro difference. And then we pay 50 to 65 Euro only to get into Sharks.

BTW, the taxi drivers every time receive 10 Euros from the Sharks reception after they have delivered you there.

Right but it is also so easy to walk there it is at least what I always do when I sleep at the be&be near the railway station, a bit exercise is never bad before a session to stimulate the testosterone, easier but far less healthier is to take a blue pill.

After a great visit to Sharks, it gets spoiled by a scamming taxi driver. Buddy and I jump into a cab and ask to go to the Darmstadt Hautbahoff. It has always been a 10 euro ride. This driver says 100 euros. Excuse me? Thinking he misheard and we wanted to go to Frankfurt which should be only 60, we repeated Darmstadt. He repeated 100. Jumped out of his taxi but the rest of the taxi mafia behind him would not take us as they said it was his turn. With no choice we had to go with him. He accepted the 10 euro but was an ass about it, inspecting the note in the light and lecturing about how we could not take a picture of his license plate. Also swore at us when we left the cab.

Neither Sharks or the taxi company gave a damn about this rip off driver as they didn't respond to email and the Sharks receptionist on our next visit just shrugged her shoulders. I get it. Sharks don't have control of the thugs outside their club.

Happens all the time, but normally in Oase when you want to go to a near by hotel, so the drivers get disappointed that they did not win the lottery (ride to Frankfurt). They either refuse to take you or ask for 15-20 euro instead of 11-12 euro. The best way to handle this situations is to ask for the manager of the taxi station and also, always let them turn on the meter, it is your right. They soften once you ask for the station manager. Also, if you have a valid reason not to take the first one (cheating) then the second one must take you or say you want the manager, dude, that's a job not a mafia, just better to go over their head than directly into it.
