LOL! I prefer after. That was what I was alluding to grabbing something to go or a quick sit down before leaving. Also a lot cheaper than my regular haunts.

Yep, agree. When I lived in Singapore a few years ago Geylang was more know for it's food amongst locals than for a place to monger. It's been that way for a long time.

Can we get back to tits and ass?

I will take your word for it. I will take a walk around the around the dining spots if I am not too over heated.

The downside of gentrification is that the WGs have no place to go to service the working man.

Geylang has fantastic grub, for a quick bite or to have a relaxing meal.

It's not just the Eating Houses, but also residents pushing for a cleanup. Geylang has always been "mixed use," and as a relatively affordable district, is ripe for what in the USA would be called "gentrification. " You could buy a traditional shophouse, fix it up, and turn a very nice profit as the district becomes more attractive. Can't really beat the location to commute to the CBD.

Oh, I'll definitely check it out then. What is the best time frame to walk through Geylang?

I always liked the food in Singapore and feel fairly comfortable eating almost anywhere, including "street food. " Things are much cleaner than in other parts of the world.
