Of course I should have written my point with Capital, Bold and Underlined letters, that it seems to me that during the Carnaval, the mongering price goes down in Sao Paulo, but stays the same or goes up in Rio. My point was not to criticize the poster. If I went to Rio, I would definitely go to Monte Carlo, 4 x4 and others. I have found my way to enjoy my holidays in SP, and leave Rio, VM and Favelas to the "experienced" mongers.

What comes to the hourly price, in my case it could have been 200 for the girl, 79 for the Suite Violeta which is still very nice (there are also thrashy motels that cost 20, if you want to get that VM feeling and fuck standing with your shoes on, because the bed and the floor are so dirty) and maybe 30 for the beers. Your statement what gringo vets and Brazilians do is totally wrong. Like there was only one way to do it correctly. You go to any of the thousands of establishments in SP and in every single one of them, the majority of the clients are Brazilians, meaning that there are thousands of ways to do it. Not every Brazilian is there to collect phone numbers. These places would go bankrupt in a very short time. Maybe that's what is happening in Rio. I hear that it's not what it used to be.

I could go on and on, but I have to go to a supermarket to buy whipped cream, jello, chocolate puddings and stuff. I'm going to go to the same motel, with the same girl plus her friend and going to play with the girls and the groceries in the Jacuzzi.

I agree 100% with your comments. I was with a girl in VM and the next week saw her in La Dolce Vita. I didn't get the opportunity to ask her "Dolce Vita" price but her VM price was 100 reais / hour and I would guess that she may ask 300 or 250 in Dolce Vita. Pricing varies with location, and in that respect its not that different to real estate-"location, location, location" is the mantra of the real estate agents. The girls in Dolce Vita will ask 300 or even 400 because they think the market can support that price and some punters will pay that, it is market forces at work.

In another post a punter writes about the damage (in MC and in my humble opinion that is crazy money to pay. The Princess Promenade on rua Xavier the Silveira is girl friendly. When you take back a girl they merely require a copy of her ID card which they will photocopy. Yikes! I thought I was spending $75 usd there 3 years ago when the dollar was weaker. Back then that would be around $60 at today's rates. Monte Carlo one of my top 5 thermaes. A local took me to a fast fuck place and sadly it was marked up because of his cut / commission. It is roughly $1 a minute. Outstanding lineup of a dozen girls. I couldn't locate the place by myself even though I was within a block or two of the place near copa beach. Paying with card was somehow cheaper even though they charge a surcharge. Simply avoid carnival and maybe you should have came before inflation and adjustments. If you go to the the old red light district beware of pickpockets.

I book the room for 2 people. The dip shit didn't need to look all funny when I was coming in with a decent dressed girl. All he had to do was ask politely vs frowning. Funny how as soon as he checked the booking, it was ALL ok. That's exactly how to handle it. Shut him right the fuck up. After that the fucker never asked again!

My experience with Rio hotels is that every desk clerk / assistant manager will handle it differently. I'm not sure any Rio hotel operates under a specific rule. I've always paid for two and still had desk clerks try to charge me for a guest on the spot or sometimes surprise me at checkout. In the same hotel on the same stay, another desk clerk might not try to charge me anything. When it has occurred, I usually argue my case and they relent.

In fact, every few years the hotels that allow girls / don't allow girls seems to change. I'm curious, at a minimum don't your guests have to show ID at the desk?
