Anyone with experiences from Rub spa?

I noticed a lot on this board are dissuading others from going to clubs like pleyclub. And the advice is to just stay near the city center / watch-tower. I was there a year ago and had a good time at pleyclub and felt safe. Has it become more dangerous or something in the past year? I haven't seen any reports recently.

Two mongers, both in early 50's. I have mongered all over Europe, Canada and Central America, I speak zero Spanish. Wing man has taken a few trips to Central America with me and is fluent in Spanish.

Flight from Atlanta to Cartagena, with one hour layover in Florida, on Spirit. I have never flown on spirit before and I can see why it was cheap. Certainly no frills, charging you for a snack or a bottle water. Seats don't recline and no entertainment devices. Longest flight of the two leg trip was 2. 5 hours, so it didn't really matter. The price was right for $365 round trip. Landing in Cartagena was like landing in the Bahamas, you exit onto the runway and walk to the terminal. Had a flight land in front of us, so customs was packed and it felt like hours but in reality, it took about 45 minutes to get through.

Meet up with wingman who arrived twenty minutes earlier. A quick change of $100 at the airport so we have some cash to pay for a taxi, exchange rate was 2500 per dollar.

Outside the negotiations begin as we are in need of a ride and some party supplies. After 10 minutes of back and forth and not agreeing on pricing, I walk away and the next taxi guy meets our price in 10 seconds, as he has watched what had been going on. The guy I walked away from jabbered a bunch of nonsense with the only message I got was to be careful of the police. A veiled threat for sure but whatever dude. He's just pissed but would of had the business had he not stuck to his gringo pricing model.

I have a feeling that we're going to have that same situation recurring as I am more of the hard ass and my buddy is it more of a softie. He doesn't understand or he doesn't want to bother to haggle over a few pesos here and there and he gets frustrated with me haggling over a few pesos while I get frustrated with him for just paying gringo pricing. He thinks gringo pricing is still reasonable and I guess it is if you compare it to where we come from but that's not the point. The point is to protect the price for everyone else that follows. I also see it as kind of a respect thing that quoting us these pricing is kind of disrespectful.

15 minutes later we arrive at the Marinare building and check in. Taxi driver Frank, drops us off and headed out to procure our supplies with a 20 minute ETA. We were met by Adolfo as Juan said he would not be there because he was in town. He said he will meet up with us tomorrow. We stayed in unit 1004 which at first glance look tired and weak. I would say that the furniture is not very comfortable and they don't make good use of the outside patio that has an awesome view. The bed was a little bit harder than I like but it was firm and clean. In my bedroom there is a wall of mirrors next to the bed and access out to the patio. In the second bedroom there is an en suite bathroom but no access to the back patio. There is an abundance of hot water which to me is a deal breaker and the water pressure was awesome. It certainly doesn't feel lived in which is more like what we are used to. There was only two towels, no bath mats so you slide and slip around on the tile floors, no paper towels and no shampoo, which are just a few of the things that you would expect. On the plus side though it does have a washer and dryer in the unit, safes in both bedrooms, an iron and ironing board and the unit is clean and no evidence of bugs. Considering all in we paid 630 for 7 nights, can't complain.

We did exchange some cash next door for 2600 per 1, not great but cop has been getting stronger lately.

Taxi driver Frank shows up at our unit 20 minutes later as promised. He shows up with twice the amount of supplies that we requested and after I refused to pay for more than we had asked for, he just gave us the rest for gratis. So we got twice the amount for the same price. He did us a solid so we told him we take him out for a beer and a small meal. Off we go and we tell him to take us to a hotspot for locals. We end up at Kiosco El Boni which as we all know is just overpriced due to its location. This is the first demerit for Frank. I had that fish platter thing where they don't cut the head off the fish, comes with rice and salad it was really fresh and good. Had some ceviche which was also awesome. Had a few beers and told Frankie was time to head back but to take us to the pharmacy first as we were in need of some blue Genies. Total damage for three meals and a bunch of beers was 130,000. After driving 10 blocks and passing 10 pharmacies we wind up at one. Of course Frank comes in with us and stands next to us at the pharmacy counter. This is the second demerit for Frank as I already understand what he is doing. We were quoted a price of six dollars per pill which were 20 MG. Pharmacist told us they would last 36 hours. All I could do was laugh and turn around and walk away. Wingman and Frank we're both like hey what are you doing and I said I was going to the pharmacy next-door. Suddenly generic 50 MG pills appeared for one dollar each. Grabbed what we needed and headed back to the apartment sending Frank on his way. I assume to go pick up his tips from the restaurant and pharmacy.

We both had been up since 4 am due to early flights and It's now about 10 PM. We were both tired so we decided we're just going to chill for the night, grabbed a pizza from the Caribbean caf next-door for 33,000 and start making contact with some chicas from the photoprepagos site. We both head to bed about midnight and of course we are tired as hell but I can't sleep.

Even if you are older, how you present yourself matters. In good shape, well dressed, respectful, fresh smell than beer and cigarettes, not looking like a newbie will get you better prices and more comforts wherever you are. The prices are NOT one price fits all. Don't be afraid to offer less than any price offered and not be in a rush. If a girl likes you, she will lower her price if you are nice to her and respectfully not accept her original price. If a girl is hard pro, she is not going to come down. Just go to the next girl. I was pretty happy with these fresh delicacies for 110 p and up to 150 p and another 200 p allnighter. Nonsense to say that more you pay, the better girl you will get.

I love street food and at night I enjoy eating from road stalls at roundabouts in Medellin, but I don't call those heavy hotdogs, filled with fried onions and sauce, "fresh delicacies". Salchipapa is tasty, but not really high cuisine.

Previously you wrote something different: "I paid 100 or 120 Pesos most for 2 shots, never mind the time". For THOSE girls in the photos, yes, possible. We may be attracted by different looks, but IMHO for better looking ones, in Cartagena it's a challenge.

I know the value of money, and I am aware that paying more does not mean necessarily getting better experience, but market has a logic. You know, demand and offer do find a balance.
