Just RTFF as others do, contact the hotel as others do and keep an eye on the board for the latest gossip. You other FR was a question (sort of) on the Indian aboard asking for contacts so try to contribute as then you a better response rate.

Thanks everyone for the replies, it seems like I was being played the more I ask her, the responses just aren't truthful. .

I don't know this for a fact but I would expect that is it pretty dangerous for the local to be involved in sponsoring these girls also. In most cases this is overlooked and tolerated. It is similar to what happens with the whole WG scene in the city, everything is fine until the LE comes on the scene. The sponsor might be able to finally escape punishment but will face severe embarrassment within the tight knit small community. There are few locals powerful enough to keep the whole thing totally under wraps. In most cases, they have would avoid the confrontation and engagement of the LE.

That is a good observation Snow. I did not mention that when Prodi and I swapped PMs on this. I have in my time helped a damsel by going to see the person who had her passport and asking for it back nicely only to find it was sold to a Pakistani! But I asked again and 3 hours later is suddenly appeared. That lady spent 6 weeks with me as a happy camper (I was too BTW) and departed to the Philippines never to be seen again.

If the sponsor is a local I would always urge caution as he can just make up a story and then Prodi could be in strife. But ask who it is as in name, number and address will get a reaction. Why? OK here it is? I have no idea, must ask my lawyer. And that can help figure out if this is all true.

And I thought people could not be banned anymore but maybe my understanding of the regulations is not OK (for absconding maybe?

I decided to say that it would take me 3-4 weeks in order to help her, and she replied that its ok the local will give me more time. This just proved that it was a play to get some money off me, since if it had already gone to courts, they aren't going to wait a month. At snow I did ask for her local's number, she said she cannot give it. At Wicked her story is filled with lies, in one instance it was her filing the case against the visa guy, and needing lawyer fees for that, while recently its become the local has filed a case against her and she needs to pay the local to avoid a ban. I have suggested her just leaving and coming back, but she keeps saying she will get banned. Needless to say, I have stopped all contact and am actively looking for a new semi-WG to become a regular. Will post a report on Sunday on how the mongering goes over the weekend. Thanks everyone for the advice again, was clearly thinking from jonny and not my brain.

The AED 18 k seems OK as I know others who pay that amount for a 3 year visa. They sometime shag the local sponsor also as part of the deal. But this seems a tad odd as she can go to the courts also (what attorney fees? That is more strange to me) and file a case also. She can leave voluntarily and return also with your help as you could sponsor her tourist visa (as others on the board have done for pinays in the past).

PM me more details as this sound of and I know pinays well and this doses sound like a scam as someone needs cash for school fees etc.

You can go to any travel agent with pinays in the employee mix and ask them to help with a tourist visa and much cheaper than the prices you quoted.

My favourite Filli WG has run into a problem, the person handling her visa renewal has absconded, which has led to the local filing cases against 20 of them along with the person in charge of the visas. This establishment apparently rents out visas to WGs for AED 18,000 and now the local to protect himself, has filed cases stating that the employees have not showed up etc etc. Miss Z who paid the visa guy, has now run into major problems since she is absconded and does not have a salary slip or any proof that she worked in the establishment (She didn't in the first place). She requires AED 6,000 in order to pay the sponsor to withdraw the absconding request or she faces a ban according to the UAE laws..
