While that is good for guys like me I understand what you mean. It is another step on the way to changes coming. And as we all know and have experienced, when it comes to mongering most changes are for the worse.

At this trip I experience more people to speak english. Also the more mature pros at Glacier or Maison switch (sadly) to English.
In the provinces however most of the girls I could find for the night only did speak Malgache.
"Milely, tsara be".

But to be truth, their is love even from pros, but love must growth and can find around the corner.
Guys misunderstand sex and "take factor"- as love. To find a nice one is not possible in a week, it need experience of the country and the girls and minimum a year.
But I had / have relations with 3 top prof. Girls, one 7 year and another 11, both working pro before, I have to tell real relation, but was grown over time from money to love.
I can't say anything negative, not in terms of money not in other things. Brake of relation was not only the fault of the girls, its fault of me too, because I am a big butterfly, and not the perfect.
The actual relation is good too, from the side of the girl, but me after 11 years need some butterfly trips, I make this every year 2 time, but this time first to Africa.
And there will be no difference between Thailand and Asia and there.

They all speak french even in a remote villages north of Sambava. But their Mothers don't speak.
Love and Romance is a myth its all over but some can act as its real GFE. Most of girls will not act so you will know they look for money. This is the low of physics as all over the world girls prefer local boys at their age group. Also getting poor girls requires time and resources. Not just a week or so.
The internet is full of bulshit regarding romance with poor girls from the philippines, Africa etc. Better to come with no illusions and enjoy. Look at this guy.

Selling the idea of romance but in reality is a monger pretending that age has less significance. So the terms sweet, innocents is a big bulshit as it all come to poverty and lack of choices.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share this wonderful latest titbit! They were pretty helpful especially the Malagasy search terms! I've stayed at La Ribaudiere earlier in 2013 and really loved its restaurant. I guess I am looking for a newer hotel than this one as I like to try new places. As for Maroantsetra, I have already booked with a guide there but thank you for your offer to come with me. Perhaps, next time I visit Madagascar. Madagascar still holds a huge heart for me and hope to visit it every few years so please take care of Madagascar to keep it stable!

For fast pick-up, Manson is still the only place by night. No more than 50 K please. I went back there recently, it's packed with girls but not all fo them are pretty (or may be it's me). Buffet du Jardin is another interesting pickup place (in front of LE Louvre hotel).
By day time.
If you have time to spend online, more money and look for better quality, you will find escorts on faceb00 k in groups with keywords such as "plan", "lely", "sipa" (girl), "milely" (fuck), or "makorely" (hooker). Some of them speak English and would gladly.
Come with you in Maroansetra as tour guide. English-speaking tourists are very welcome in Summer.

Charge my Smartphone take a good quality foldable solar panel plus a 10.000 mAh Power Pack. I have a Netbook with 10 hrs battery life. At night I take it to a joint with a generator and charge it there while I hv my ice cold THB there. Lights are usually provided by solar charged LED lamps available locally everywhere. Plus I carry my battery powered LED headlamp anywhere I go. To travel in Africa you have to adjust. Africa will not adjust to your needs. My 2 cents. All others stay in Pattaya.

Posts: 526I do the same. I am pretty cheap but will always spend enough for a hotel with a generator, especially in hot places. The only place I have stayed that didn't have one was Sambava. They had a tiny one that they only used for refrigerating their food and drink.

So power cut is only a problem for budget travelers or if you stay in real small towns.

Have to agree with Bob about the power. The only place in Mada that I have never experienced a power cut is Tana, and that is probably because I don't like the place and hardly ever stay for more than 1 night. Even Nosy Be the tourist "jewel" of Mada has regular power cuts.
Also the description about Diego is bang on. So much so that I could have written it!

Posts: 267Political crisis in Madagascar.
Those who consider to go to Mada in coming weeks and months have to look at the political situation, as there will be risks of strikes (Airmad?, airports services.).
I was on east coast in past 6 weeks, now coming back to Europe and followed events on TV and newspapers. As well as from messages of embassy preventing to go around center of Tana where most events occur.
Recent story:
You have to know that presidential election was supposed to take place in November / December 2018.
In line with this prospect, an electoral bill was passed at National Assembly mid-April, of course initiated by the Government and present President: Hery.
Rajaonarimampianina.
It involved a strong denonciation by 73 opponent Deputies, affiliated to parties of former President Ravalomanana, former Head of Transition Rajoelina, and independent.
What they precisely criticized in the bill remains unclear, but they highly denunciated corruption of Deputies with suitcases of banknotes circulating in the Parliament.
Accordingly they initiated what they called «* a report to voters*» in front of Mairie of Tana on 22/23 April. In fact a demonstration to denounce corruption and unfair bill. This demonstration was forbidden by the Government.
Accordingly, what might have been expected happened. The police tried to disperse demonstrators, stones were launched on the police which shooted (1 demonstrator killed - 2 later in hospital- tens of injured). The Government transmitted condolences to families.
Before this demonstration and riots, before week-end, in a typical Malagasy way. The President had left the country on a commercial Air Mauritius flight without notice (for memory, previous President Ravalomanana had been obliged to escape to South Africa after similar riot in 2009 inducing 31 deaths). Finally he came back the next week. As it was a relatively limited risky situation, after condolences and mourning.
From this moment opponents, asked for resignation of the President. And daily demonstration occurred in Tana (with some similar support demonstration against the President, last week- end in main cities).
Now, in Tana, opponents try to push to strike civil servants (including customs.) closing Ministries with lockers!
In the meantime, Constitutional High Court cancelled most of the disputed bill, but the 73 Deputies request President resignation, to sue corrupted pro Government Deputies. All that blocking the supposed smooth process to presidential election planned for year end.
The UN General Secretary, the African Commission. Sent envoys to help to end the crisis.
But with bad souvenir of previous actions of international community, -which induced 4 years of Transition (2009- 2013) and to a certain extent, is responsible of present Presidency (as obvious leaders Ravalomanana and Rajoelina agreed to be replaced in 2013 by supposed supporters (Hery Rajaonarimampianina was supposed to run for Rajoelina. But run for his personal account as soon as elected in a typical Malagasy way) most leaders refuse today intervention of international community.
Madagascar cannot be understood in African standards: after the recent riots, the Minister of Defence and all representatives of the armed force met to declare that al, parties had to sit around a table to solve the situation and prepare elections. (In other African countries, they would have met to denounce the disorder and seize power themselves, to organise elections. At the advantage of a military leader!
More, the police (supposed under the Government order!) after the deaths declared next day, they will no more intervene in any dispersion of demonstrators, but only protect buildings and avoid shops to be stolen.
So is present Madagascar.
But on daily life in the provinces, nothing changes. Girls and 90 % Malagasy are are out of political world. Even if denouncing corruption, asking for elections for all is a strong demand of the society.
