So far I have found five prostibulos (brothels) in Ipiales.

This is probably my favourite so far. They have been charging me 70,000 for 20 minutes. There is a great selection of girls, and all of them have been amenable to some form of kissing, ranging from light pecks to DFK. I've been traveling around Colombia for 15 years or so and I was ready to call these stories urban legends too, until it happened to a friend of mine when we were in Rio Negro. He went to a bar by himself one night and the next thing he knew it was 10 am the next day and he was waking up laying in a grass field without his phone, money, etc. He has no idea if anything was put in his drink, blown in his face, etc because he has no memory of it.

But I do have a good friend that has been to Colombia as many times as I have and like me, really only deals with non-pros. Well it happened to him. Parque Bolivar is generally safe.

I felt victim to this a few years ago when I was around Santa Fe in Bogota. It was a dumb mistake. Took 2 chicas I met in an open bar and took them to my place. Fortunately, I did not end up at the hospital and the financial loss was minimal (not that it would matter, health is more important). It was put in in an unsupervised drink.

It comes from trees native to Colombia. More likely, it can be cut into some other snortable drugs, besides being put in your drink. I saw a documentary on it, YouTube VICE video, look it up.

I agree, always watch your drink, and if it is a beer or bottle service, the waiter / bartender almost always opens the bottle in front of you to show it has been untampered.

About 5 times as most of it is just going to end up on your skin and your skin will not absorb it fast enough to have any negative effects. It also takes about 20 minutes to take effect.

No one is questioning that scopolamine exists. It's a prescription drug used to prevent motion sickness along with many other uses. In larger doses it causes sleepiness and memory loss. What's being questioned is the blow it in your face or put it on nipples delivery methods.

If you spend a lot of time getting drunk in Colombia your chances of being a victim go way up. Then again, if you spend a lot of time getting drunk anywhere, chances are you'll end up a victim of something. Same is true if you're in the habit of snorting drugs given to you by strangers.

A YouTube VICE video isn't a documentary. Nothing done by VICE qualifies as a documentary. They put out inadequately researched, or intentionally misleading garbage. Look at the titles and you can see it's nothing more than clickbait for the gullible. "World's Scariest Drug", "Russia's Deadliest Drug", and others. There are much better sources available.

Yes. Pay attention to your drink and be aware of what is going on around you. Yes. Be wary of strangers offering you anything. Also was told that its much safer to get the ones that are inside, like the ones closer to Park Bolivar (in that area). Better looking girls there also. He also told me of a drug that sounds crazy. People will put it in your drink or blow it in your face and you can not refuse anything. Everything they tell you, you will do, clean out your bank account, leave you naked and destitute. Wake up 3 days later and have no memory of what happened.

I did get a girl in that area, only because its been a long time for me. Now that its out of my system, I will be going to much safer places.

There's no drug that someone can blow in your face that will do what you heard. Even if there was it would be almost as dangerous to the person trying to use it as to the victim.

To minimize your risk, don't let any stranger buy you a drink. Also, don't drink to excess. Watch your drink. Don't leave it unattended.

To reduce your losses, only carry the cash you plan to spend. Don't carry credit or ATM cards. Keep extra cash and cards locked in the safe. Stay at a place where guests must be checked in.

Too many guys show up carrying 4 cards and 500 k everywhere they go. Then they decide to party their asses off. Foolish behavior lets bad things happen.
