As a first timer for Bangkok. Could you please give me advise on which area that I may start to look for a hotel to stay in.
I hear of the Sukhumvit and Soi areas, but have no knowledge.

Lookup 'Nana Plaza Sukhumvit Soi 4' and 'Soi Cowboy' in Google Maps. The area between and around these two points is the area we are talking about here.
By the way: most hotels mentioned in this thread are located in this area.

Anyone have any opinions on the Sheraton Grande vs Westin Grande? The same number of SPG points are required for redemption even though the Sheraton is a higher Starwood category.

I have stayed in both. The Sheraton Grand is a better hotel. Rooms are higher class, but does not have a club lounge. Also consider the Athenee Wireless Road Phlone Chit.

All of the hotels in this forum will be girl friendly unless it is specifically mentioned. I'm staying here for my trip in September so if you are there before hand I would appreciate some feedback on whether it's a decent place to stay or not.

I stayed in Retro 39 in Soi 39 once. That hotel is guest friendly. This time might choose Studio Asoke since it is closer to Soi Cowboy, Nana. There's not many reviews about Studio Asoke yet since it's new.

Deluxe Double room at Studio Asoke was suprisingly spacious at 1260 Baht. They may have smaller cheaper rooms. My room had a sofa and plenty of space.

Newly constructed Hotel. Next to Pullman and accross road from FURAMA fx. That means about 300 metres from Soi Cowboy so easy walk.

Room has no bathtub but otherwise fairly complete including safe. Comfortable bed. OK for economic long stay. Possibly has no Breakfast but can eat very close by.

Is this hotel girl friendly? Wanted to book this hotel as it is a good location but can't message them via Agoda.

Last trip I stayed in a serviced apartment that was so GF that they never checked anything. Of course, since I was there long term, the staff all knew me.

I'm looking for a different place this time and it will not be in the Asoke Nana strip or anywhere near Suk (unless Bang Na or On Nut or father out).

Are most serviced APTS girl friendly? I am looking in areas like Ari, DinDaeng, Saphan Kwai.

Any recs in the 10 k a month range with a pool?

I can say for sure Centre Point Sukhumvit. Thong Lo is a GF serviced apartment hotel. Stayed there for the first time in Aug-2017. Availed services of Priya from Bangkok Escorts.

Reporting back on Grand Mercure on Soi 19 after asking info about it last week. Stayed here for 4 days and now extended it with 5 as I like it alot. Thank you for all the info.

I can confirm it's 200% GF. Reception will never actively approach you asking for ID or anything. There is also a side door if you prefer not to walk with a different girl past the nice reception ladies every day which gives you full privacy. Rooms are perfect (even the most simple one is MORE then enough! Considering the hotels on Sukhumvit itself and the T21 hotel are Double (the price and this one is hardly a 5 min quick walk to T21 I'd say its amazing value and worth a try! Of course the short walk can be bothersome to some when it's hot and humid but I never felt it was much of a issue.

I too am looking for an apt or condo. So far I have narrowed it down to Like Sukhumvit 22 and Studio Asoke.

For those who have stayed at Like Sukhumvit 22. Do they check ID's of guests? Also if my guests come late after the reception is closed, is there a way that the security calls up or must I come down to get them.

From the Thai girl point of view, not many Thai girls feel the same way. Most of the Thai girls I know, ha ha, have very different ideas on the subject and I am afraid your experience with your GF in Phuket under an umbrella is not unique with Thai girls and is very similar to my own experience on my 1st trip with Mini in Phuket. On day #1 Mini wore a huge brimmed straw beach hat and silk scarf covering her shoulders to the beach and then she chose two lounge chairs under the thickest mahogany shade tree for miles. I hated her selection, but I found it humorous. I also knew it would be vacation romance suicide to object, so I kept my opinion to myself. I did offer her some high number spf sun screen, but she rejected it in favor of heavy shade. In her mind, she was not afraid of burning, she just was absolutely loath to the idea of getting any sun tan color! Funny, but that is exactly how most light skin Thai girls feel. Their opinion is the lighter their complexion the better looking they are. The exact opposite of American; USA, Canadian, Brazilian girls and southern Euro girls too.

Thai girls probably know best. Sun bathing is not good for you. LOL I don't go swimming alone that much in Hotel Pools. I had fabulous fun in a pool in Krabi with an Oily MP girl (10 years ago LOL but stays unforgettable), and good fun in the sea too. Helps to have a largely vacant pool to make girls less shy about playing under water.

But I am sure you remember our mutual little Khmer friend. She was a natural water girl. I fondly remember how she used to dive right into the swimming pool head first and then bask out in the open sun, without a care, no problemo. She loved the sun! Maybe she didn't care about getting tan because she was already dark.
