Obviously Singapore has less of these issues but it's still a risk.
Salads, raw veg, and raw fruit is pretty much zero risk in Singapore. At least no more risk than any restaurant anywhere in the West that fails to practice good HACCP protocols. Reason being that the potable water, everywhere, is high quality and safe. Again, go to stalls that received A-grade on their food safety assessment, and you're assured of eating at a stall that practices good hygiene.

Forget your PM, the pointers are contained in posts in the forum.

    Food in Singapore.

In multicultural Singapore the main source of everyday food are hawker centers or in local language food courts. The majority of stall belong to Chinese, SEA and Indian food. Although Western food is available at food courts, it might not be the best western food though.

So yes if you are not familiar with Chinese / SEA / Indian food, then food court might be a bad place for you to have food. Every food court hosts a healthy salad counter at 90% of the places and if you are not sure what to eat, go straight to this counter.

In Singapore, things are very realistic and simple, you want nice food at a reasonable price and eat like a local? - Go to food court (hawker center), want to spend more money on food and eat like a tourist. Head to the air-conditioned sophisticated restaurants. Choice is all yours but nonetheless the food is healthy and good at all places.

A local was yelling at a street food vendor because the person did not speak English. Don't think wise to yell at a cook who is preparing your food. I am not sure if the local still ate the food.

My trip was a complete fail. I returned home 4 kgs lighter. My work was hell, I almost ended up on a drip. Just prior to getting sick (which was the night I arrived), I noticed my fav spa in the whole world had shutdown. The part of SG I generally stay is forever changing. I was there late last year, pubs are gone, restaurants are gone, my spa is gone, my old gym is gone. Something else is always popping up in place.

After this, I have no desire to return anytime soon.
Wow. Singapore hawker food is safer than many restaurants in the USA. You must have a nearly non-existent constitution.

I would STRONGLY advise forum readers to COMPLETELY ignore this gentleman's post as an aberrant outlier. Singapore hawker food is one of the gustatory high points to experience on the planet. If at all concerned, look for prominently displayed Food Safety Grade cards and stick with stalls earning an "A." I regularly eat at “B” and even “C” Grade with zero problems.

What Hawker did you go and what did you order? I am really surprised. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. What area are you usually staying?

Any tips or thoughts on how much to approach? How much to pay? Any difference from picking up an typical Asian girl from Ipanwma.
Did it once. Never again. Once back at my place she turned into the harridan from hell, totally starfishing, whinging about $, backpedaling on everything we agree to (in "writing" on a phone notepad, not trusting aural communication in a load environment).

Every time I've picked a non-Asian in Asia, I've regretted it. The sole exception was a very sweet Caucasian Muslim Uzbek girl pulled from Brix.

Thank you Bush, Banana, Red, MakeIt and Geneva for the very useful information. I will try and err on the safe side the first time she comes in.

I very much appreciate your help!

    Thanks,
