I have been used to organize a business trip to KL or SIN from Europe having in mind since the beginning that the highlight (or real goal in my mind) of the overall trip would be the stay in Batam after the business meetings. And, after the first times when I was used to stay 3-4 days there, now I plan a FULL WEEK there. Every day can bring something, and I feel really well there.

More power to you. I would go nuts after 3 days.

I would never plan to fly from the US / Europe for a mongering holiday in Batam the way one would to Thailand / Philippines / Jakarta / Bali in Indonesia / Cambodia. If a business trip can be planned to Singapore then its certainly worth spending time and money in Batam rather than wasting it in Singapore. I don't like KL as a city, so I don't care much for it.

When I am in KL, I enjoy the Viet, but I just look forward to get the real Gold: sweet brown sugar in Batam. KL is expensive, and it's also hard to dig real gems in BC or other clubs. In Batam I feel like a fish in a pond full of sweet shrimps to taste.

My driver said the same thing, so did the girls. And I will do that next time. The only complaint I have about the place is they do the grilling on a gas stove and not on a wood-fire or coals. I like the slight smoky flavor that style imparts to the fish. But this one was top notch too.

For barbecue, I would recommend to stay in Nagoya. Plenty of barbecue stalls under the mosque in front of Nagoya Hill. The fish is amazingly fresh, and they cook it well.
Aneka Selera and other major seafood restaurants are Indo-CHINESE. Choose some Chinese cooking style, like steam or fried and you'll love it.

Haha! Problem of plenty. And I don't know if its coincidence, but I get matches with more good looking women when I already have a girl on my arm. FML.

Same here. That's why in disco I never stop to talk to a girl before having spent at least one hour roaming arouind.
However, 99% of girls in Wechat, Tinder, etc. are not worth. Photos are not really depicting the real look, and in many cases they are hard-core pros.
If you want a P4P, go to a pub, a disco, or book her. Safer and you have the chance to talk before.
If you just want to fuck, without talking or complications like a dinner, just go to a spa (Octapus, Atalanta, and some others are the top notch). Expensive, but you know what you get.

Next time, go WALKING to s strip of exchange booths (I go on Jalan Bonjol, the one that goes from Harmoni McDonald to Nagoya Hill) and ask rates one after the others. When I do, I get even a 5% range variation, which means that for $1000 it's several seafood dinners!

I initially thought of that, but it was blazing hot. I did look at a few shops before turning in my dollars. There indeed was a variation of upto IDR 300 on the dollar.

Next time, try to go there at daytime. You have time to see the places on the way, and I like eating on the sea blessed by the sun.

This was possibly the best couple of days I have ever spent in Batam, and this one might be the find of this year. With 6 months to go and another long trip comping in August and a couple more through the rest of the year, it may be a hasty claim, but one that will be really hard to beat.
Oh yes, WeChat, Badoo and Tinder keep buzzing all the time. But this time I had no bandwidth for any of that. The rooms at Harmoni are definitely among the better ones in Batam, but at almost SG $80 a night, it is on the steep side.

You will have worse and better stays. Batam is unpredictable. Never know what's going to happen, good or bad.
For next times, you still have to explore at least the scenes;.

A) With girls met in diisco / pub, which you retain as friends and on your wechat / whatsapp, and come with you for dinner alone or accompanied.
Sometimes the friends they bring just want a free dinner (Who cares? It's so cheap. Enjoy!)
Sometimes they may be up to something. I had 3some with couples of friends several times, but it's something to achieve with patience and perseverance.
In the worst case, after dinner and a drink at pub you can leave them and go to disco alone, where action is after 2 am.

B) The girls in disco. This is the hardest, but worth to explore.

By midnight hit Newton but the crowd was very thin. Finally landed up at NoName for a bit of music and partying. Retired to the room around 2 am and things started heating up with Melani.

Possibly this would be a same old same old, but it's a fresh report nonetheless. And a couple of worthwhile things to report.

This Thursday, I took a ferry from SG and reached Batam at noon. My regular driver was waiting at the terminal and he quickly took me to Harmoni. The room I had booked was not ready so the hotel staff offered me a complimentary lunch. However, I was not hungry so I stepped out and asked the driver to take me to the forex shops so I could get some USD exchanged. 13,900 to the dollar, not bad. Stopped at an Indomart and picked up some regular supplies and headed back to the hotel. This time the room was ready. Checked in, took a shower and drank a bit of the whisky I picked up from the DFS.

At around 2 pm I asked the driver to take me to a couple of booking houses. First stop at Sedona. Nothing but dregs. Next stop Happy8. Possibly the best range I have seen at a massage shop. More than 20 girls available, most of them in late 20's to early 30's (at least from their appearance). I called the Mami and gave her my specs. She pointed to 4 girls. I picked one of them, the one I thought was the cutest of all – Melani. Handed over 1 mn to mami, took the girl and returned to the hotel. Now those who have stayed at Harmoni will know there is an entrance from the backside of the hotel which opens out near the lift lobby. Morning wood serviced, I sent Melani away by 10.30 am with a 100 K tip.

I had some work to finish so I spent the next few hours on my laptop and before I knew it was 2 pm. Went over to Sedona again. The papi asked me what I was looking for. I told him my requirements and also mentioned to him that the stock at Sedona was really bad lately. He then showed me a pic of a girl on his phone and said she is a new girl who had started only last week but is selective about customers. And this girl Winda looked gorgeous. Firstly shout out to Black Page who helped clarify some questions I had about mongering in Batam during the Ramadan month. Very useful tips.

I got there on Saturday by 12:30 pm, took a taxi to Goodway and checked-in. My pal from Jakarta (who is not on this board) had also flown in couple of hours earlier. Around 1. 30 pm I called a taxi driver I have used in the past and got him to run us past a couple of booking houses.

Got around to Sedona first. Everything is shut since its Ramadan, but the driver knew exactly what to do. He went around the back door and spoke to a couple of guys hanging around there. The next minute we were inside Sedona, which had around 20 girls, a few in their early 20's but most in the late 20's or early 30's from my estimate. Nothing caught my fancy, but my pal picked a girl. Paid up 1. 2 million and told the mamasan to send the girl with the driver later at a pre-appointed time in the evening.

Hi all, its been quite a while. I was in Batam for two days last week, from some of the info here I went to Thai Odyssey massage opposite the Shopping centre Nagoya Hill.
