    Weather

Medellin. Pretty much the same all year, although less rain this time of year. Highs in the 80's. Lows in the 60's. Sun is hot, because of proximity to the equator. Low humidity.

Cartagena. Hot. Highs in the upper 80's, but the humidity makes it feel hotter. Reminds me of home here in Florida. A little more likely to have some rain during the day, but it rarely lasts.

San Andres. Hot and humid, but there is almost always a good breeze, since it's an island. It can be very rainy there, but this time of year I have found the rain to be less frequent (or at least not lasting as long).

Well what's nice about the Botero out of hotels in Centro is you have to make it 150 ft from the airport bus with your luggage to the hotel, 650 ft to the strip club brothels Maracaibo and Barra Ejectiva and 700 ft to Conejitas, not a lot of exposure.

And in the daytime it's 1,400 ft to the VeraCruz redlight block and 1,415 ft to the Raudal redlight block. (I don't recommend cruising those at night, the Raudal block is a little rough looking even in the day) Also only 180 ft to a indoor ATM (Nutribara has a back entrance and 2 24 HR ATMs) and 290 ft to 24 HR food at BrasePan and 400 ft to a grocery store. (Tiendas D1).

Boy you guys sent me down the rabbit hole

I signed up for Tinder and paid the $30 to get international access so I would just be looking at Medellin chicas. When I get matches I give them my standard FKK pitch. BBBJ, french kissing, 69 position for 180 k. I ask for their whatsapp number. In 2 days I have accumulated 5 phone numbers. 2 of the 5 will not do accept 180 k. One asked for 250 k and the other 300 K. It is the BBBJ and 69 to which they object. Problematic, is of the five they had the best pictures.

As a previous poster said many of them are on a known agency list. I found the one the taxi driver set me up with 2 years ago but I already have her whatsapp.

I am spending far too much time on this thing obsessive personality that I am. Hopefully it is like a new toy and I will soon grow tired of it. The irony is that have a list 100 chicas and only 10 days of mongering. I am not even counting going to the clubs. Just got another anonymous whatsapp so make it 6.

If the Botero keeps their price at $36 (was $26 the 4 times I stayed there in the last year) I will try the Normandia at $18 a night, it's like 2 doors down from Barra Ejectiva and Maricaibo strip clubs which is nice and convenient, I bet I can talk them into to free take out since it is so close. I will miss the mini-fridge at the Botero but I guess I can get a cooler and ice.

I would like to thank the guys who were helpful & supportive in their replies. Several of you understand the problem, and I really appreciate that. This sentence below really hits the nail on the head.

My problem with the Nutibara had very little to do with the money. I began my research weeks before my check-in which included several conversations about the hotel with the airline vacation agents, and a thorough review of the hotel's profile & customer reviews on both TripAdvisor & Hotels.com. I also sent 2 seperate emails from different email accounts directly to the hotel asking what the visitor fee was. Both my emails went unreturned. Then I get there and get half the information I need. Then the next night with my guest, I get asked for the money with less civility than what I get from a fast-food joint here in the USA. At this point I had had enough with this hotel's evasive & disrespectful customer service.

Fortunately all that is in the past. I am staying in 2-bedroom condos thru Airbnb in Poblado, Laureles & Centro for the remainder of my trip. It's great having things all cleared with the owner of the condo, and also the building's security. The girls checkin below and come right up to my condo front door. I let them in and take them to the little bedroom for action. I do love me the room service!

The best option is the Medellin Metro. If I was on a budget trip, I would pick a hotel in Mayorista. There are several nice, cheap options there and Ayura metro station is an easy 10 minute walk away. 2400 pesos gets you on the Metro to El Centro, or you can transfer to head out to Laureles. There are lots of sightseeing options accessible via the Metro and Metrocable and it's the fastest way to get around the city. There's also plenty of cheap food options in Mayorista, although quality does vary.
You have had outstanding luck then if you have never been charged the "Gringo Price". I was probably thinking of my experiences taxis in CR more so than MDE. I should have been more explicit.

Totally agree about buses & taxis during rush hour. I just tried the Metro in July, my 4th trip & am a firm believer in it. The Metro is awesome. Quick, efficient & no confusion on the prices whatsoever! Thanks for the response.

There is a 105 K / night pre pay rate on expedia. $119 isn't a crazy big increase but we would be better off without it. LOL! The dollar is creeping back above 3 K so that should help a bit. Let's blame it on Duque.

On another note the stupid Hotel Boteo just raised their rates a bunch, was 75,000 cop for a double a night, now it is 119 k, I asked my buddy who lives there if they had done a remodel or fixed the AC's or anything to explain it and he said nope. They also show on Hotels.com and Booking.com as being booked up for all of March when I want to go next which seems wierd.

I would try to find a better deal or get girls to show up earlier in the day. I can't remember how much it is but Botero hotel collects a fee for overnight guests. It isn't much. I think it is probably the difference between the single (sencillo) rate and the double occupancy rate.

Probably the next $15 & the one or several more after that. Then the $3 or 4 overcharge by every other taxi, then the dinner price charged at lunch time, the the add ONS at the hotel then this fee & that fee. All of this adds up to getting aggravated at a minimum and reporting it here for others to know about. I have seen people get extremely irate at check out because of these hidden fees. It all adds up. Yes we spent 100 X more on plane ticket, hotel & entertainment so if it is "only" $15, you are correct, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. But usually it's not & usually it's a lot more than $15. Some of us are on a shoestring budget and have to watch every $15 we spend. I wish I were Trustfunder and could overlook every time I got the Gringo price!

I think more than that is that he was led to believe one thing and then treated differently. This can get on one's nerves, no matter how small the $ amount. That said, just have the chicas come over earlier or just go to a short-time hotel (they are better for entertaining the chicas anyway). I stayed at a place a couple years ago that explicitly told me no problem bringing guests in and no fee. Despite that, a bitchy evening clerk kept hassling my guests. It pissed me off, but in the end I found a fantastic short-time place.

    Quoting without quoting

Just Incognito, your post has a quote from another poster, but there is no way knowing that until someone reads the third paragraph. Even then, it is confusing. It is very easy to click on "Reply with quote" at the bottom of the post. Then you can delete any parts that are not relevant to your response.
