After wrapping up my meetings, headed to Clarke's. The place has a very positive vibe. Sat down at one of the places having excellent music. The chic singing was very cute and had an adorable smile. I did this a couple of years ago, not sure she even made it to the counter before being singled out with a couple of other Thai girls for 50 questions. I think her mistake was being dressed up with heels etc. The other two girls got sent home but luckily she managed to talk her way though. She had previously legally worked a year in Singapore and spoke reasonable English so that probably helped, and when asked to show cash just told them she uses her card.

Had another Vietnam "friend" I knew from KL who told me she tried to go to Singapore for "working" but got sent home. Also asked a bunch of questions and told to show some amount of cash, don't recall how much.

Last time I did was over 6 years ago. Just make sure your paper work and her paperwork are in order as per the relevant country website. And the hotel, cash, and airline ticket. If I was travelling together, I would just present together both sets of documents to the guy. Don't go to a gal. I usually try to pick an older guy.

Your girl should not tell any lies, even little ones, as that constitutes grounds for deportation. For example, she might be asked if you she is alone (the immigration officer may have already asked you if you are alone), and answer the opposite of you. This is what happened to me several years ago (my GF decided that telling immigration that I was her BF would identify her as a prostitute because I was twice her age. I had identified her as my GF).

Also, the hotel reservation should show that the hotel is already paid in full. I always take a pdf of the reservation and use photoshop or illustrator to add a line that says "PAID IN FULL" just so immigration doesn't have to work to hard to figure things out.

I still travel with girls who are half my age (sometimes 1/3 my age) and no longer have any problems whatsoever.

Ensure you friend has return tickets to show, a hotel reservation in her name to show and cash to show at the immigration booths. Even if you arrive on the same flight, you cannot do immigration "together". The officer accepts only one traveler at a time and if you let the girl go first, you will have to stand behind the yellow line, at least 4 meters away and can't do a damn thing to help her if the officer starts asking probing questions and the girl finds herself out of depth to answer them confidently. Most importantly, she should not appear anxious, act furtively or try and look at you for affirmation on every question asked.

If the girl can speak decent English, has a few stamps on her passport and has a confident air about her, then likely she will get through in a breeze. ICA has become increasingly vigilant of single female visitors from South East Asian countries, particularly Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines and Vietnam. Women from Malaysia or Indonesia are rarely stopped, due to political and diplomatic relations.

I will be in Singapore next week and was wondering what my options might be, as it's been a while.
