I stayed before in Parklands for 2 days in a business visit, so I were sleeping early with no chance to check the night life there.

So I'm confident about the room quality compared to the offered room rate, at least it's good enough for the laid.

Do not stay at Sirona. I am pretty sure it is a shithole.

At Parklands Shade, there will be girls for sure, and it is very central so if you don't find anyone there, then you can move around very quickly with an uber to get what you want.

Regarding Parklands Shade club, Does the nightclub usually have WGs looking for customers there.

I was thinking to stay in Parklands shade, which could be an ideal hotel to pick and fuck in the same place / hotel.

Another friend advised me about Sirona Hotel in Parklands, as another good option.

I saw some reviews about Sirona describe the place as brothel!

I'm a little confused in fact.

Rule for black Africa: never have girls waiting for you when you land. Such girls will think they have a discoverer right over you. You'll waste days and money getting rid of them. The 1st disco you'll visit on your 1st night will show you 10 times more girls 10 times better-looking than the pre-booked ones.

I've checked the details of hotels for Nairobi on here but can't seem to find any recommendations fro the westland area that are not over $100 per night. Is this a normal price for this area. I've been looking at the hotel Emerald which is OK but expensive compared to other places. I'm so spoilt by Thailand and Pattaya prices and choice.

This is the trouble with going with hotels in a place like Kenya: there's so much dirty money here from China, Russia, even Greece, plus it's the second biggest country to open shell companies (the US is 1st -- Go 'Murica!) that it's inflating all kinds of high-price commodities like property, hotels and 'luxury' goods in the country.

That's the truth of Kenyan economic 'strength': it's the money-laundry capitol of Africa.

I can't speak for the coast, but I've done several Nairobi rentals.

Although you do have to be careful with dubious listings -- everywhere, not just in Kenya. But especially here. -- the more you're paying over $25, your chance of falling into dumps goes DOWN exponentially.

The biggest headache you'll run into for such places is over-pricing. But for the same reasons hotels try to stick it to us: e. G. Paying for name or reputation over quality; paying for location over amenities; hosts that provide the most basic amenities, but still equal to what you would get in a much-higher-priced hotel, etc.

I've rented several under-$20 spots, and you get what you pay for. If you need or expect anything fancy, you'll be sorely disappointed. Still, the places I've rented are safe (-ish), clean, conveniently located, large in space (one 1 BR flat had walk-in closets. I've never seen that, ever, in Kenya. Of course, the building was old as fcuk). Only one of them was actually worth more than its price, barely, because it offered some amenities that a few over-$20 places did not.

Although I don't recommend going under-20, especially if you're new to (under) developed countries like Kenya, the best way to screen ABB listings is like screening dating profiles:

It's more important what's NOT shown. For example, if there's no pic of the toilet, tub or bathroom, the bathroom is going to be a shitroom.

Some places list fake pics. Duh! Be skeptical. The fewer number of pics, be more skeptical.

If you see any listing saying they have a hottub (yup, go search for that), fcuk it.

If you're ready to take the plunge, book ONE night. This way, you limit the risk. Have a Plan-be spot queued to book if the first one isn't good enough.

Avoid any listing that posts more pics about tourist attractions than about the apt itself.

Beware that the better / best under-20 spots are on the 4th or 5th floor of a no-elevator building. The apt & views are usually worth it, but in exchange for exercise. The hosts are supposed to put that in the description, but. This is Kenya.

I'm so spoilt by Thailand and Pattaya prices and choice.

There in lies the reality that this is by far not Thailand, hehe. AirBnB protects you from walk of shame, but if you go cheap with ABB in Kenya, you could wind up in a dump that the owner won't even meet you at, you need to keep a close eye on prepaid electrical (a pain in the ass), lazy security, no heat (its cold in Sep.), and on, and on. Read my post on Emerald. Not a bad place really. You just have to accept that this is Africa, and you need to tolerate 50 to 75 yo hotels to get into that juicy black booty.

I've traveled allot to Thailand and Philippines and am not unused to mongering. But I will be careful. I've booked the first 4 days in a airbnb apartment in Bamburi beach and then will explore for other options. I will try and run an updated trip report as I go along as I feel the need to add to the forum. Updates as I go.

I recommend going AirBnB or similar. You can get an entire apartment, much better quality that 90% of hotels here, for 2500 KSh or higher per night. With less drama / comedy than dealing w / hotels. Within a less-than 30-minute radius drive of CBD.

And all flats are intrinsically girl-friendly.

Same thing it wasn't about money spent in fact too much money would make you and her a target because of jealously and when it got back to the main GF / family they'd think that you were holding out on her / them. Getting smaddy fram farrin (a foreigner) was for bragging rights not because they expected to get rich off of you.

But yeah you couldn't do it close to home you didn't have the same "rights" as a local man who could have ten women living in the same town.

What trouble did your friend from Uganda get into?

He got the wrong people and must run because they want to beat them up. He was targeting University girls and forgot that there always are more people who target them, special wealthy business men and high ranking government people.

He have now his lessons and know that you not must interfere and go in competition with that kin of people when you want to stay in the country any where in Africa.

The lesson is stay under the radar of that kind of people and play it safe so that you live safe and longer.

The most muzungu's think that they are untouchable because the most Africans play that they like them and for the family you are a status symbol, but do not underestimated what can be happened when they not have profit of you in one or another way.

That is also the reason that I hunt up country and make friends special with the chiefs and elders because I am for them a status symbol because they have a muzungu friend from abroad.

I am wondering or you are real know Kenya and the rest of Africa what Neddy tell. I am a muzungu and living all more than 10 years in Kenya also married with a Kenya lady (I am 69 and she is 58).

I have never problems because I respect her and she respect me. I am a hunter and go around Kenya. I live in the suburb of Nairobi.

The lesson what I have learned is be polite and respect the other side in a good way, and you get what you want special when you like me not hunt in the city but up country I have meet ladies of practical all tribes in Kenya and not spend a lot of money for fun but always give them the respect what they want even help them out of problems with school-fees and food.

When you are in a small village buy some fruits and a drink on the market and make a social talk and you will be surprised special when you are with a old Pajero like me to show that I am not a rich muzungu they will give you all the information what you want and going with you to the small hotel for a lunch of diner.

Special the single lady what have the shop on the street like to a company you and even offer you a better option for your need. (That is my experience) because very lady want to show that she have a muzungu friend and show you to her relatives but be straight and let them know that you are not willing to married..
