Now flights are starting at $1,000 and depending on where you live sometimes $2,000 and then you have to factor in food, women and a place to stay.
I don't think you are factoring in the rate of inflation for the USD. Food, women, and a place to stay? You mean they used to be free? Hey, no flight to anywhere costs what it did, two or three decades ago. $500 in 1888 equals $1065 today and $500 in 1998 would equal $773. And it should come as no surprise that flights to other destinations are higher than they once were. Heck, I flew from JFK to AMS for $250 round trip, back in 1978. I also earn a lot more money in pure numerical terms than I did in 1978. But, travel abroad also seemed less back in 1978, because I was young and still living with family. I had no significant living costs and my small paychecks for my entry level jobs were pure money to burn. But, once you factor in inflation, that $250 would be just shy of a grand in 2018. But, my point here is that based on the figures you are putting up, airfare to Brazil is not really any higher than it was two or three decades ago when you factor in inflation and wage growth.

I've actually found flights to Brazil and back lately, for around $773 and even a last minute fare to SP for under $700. They can also be two or three grand if you don't shop around. By most accounts from the travel industry veterans I've met, airfare to Latin America has been historically volatile, even before the internet brought inventory management to our desktops. And I'm pretty sure you are not earning the same salary now, that you did 20 years ago.

I've no idea what the prices for P4P were back then, but I would expect they wouldn't seem so cheap if you factored in your salary back then. I will say this, $500 was a big chunk of change for me, back in 1988. $1000 is not a big amount to me in 2018. Maybe some old timers can give us some prices for P4P in Brazil from the 80's relative to their actual cost in USD. I understand the currency of Brazil has changed four or five times since then, so that would only cloud the figures more if we talked about them in terms of Cruzieros / Cruzados.

The mongering scene has changed all throughout Brazil, but I'm not convinced it's even mainly due to governments in the cities and states trying to clean up their images.

Yes, the in-your-face mongering spots are largely gone. Help, Terrao Atlntico, Meia Pataca, Balcony Bar, all gone. But there's a Portuguese phrase in popular use in Brazil-Para os Ingles ver" (for the English to see) --that helps account for this. Many Brazilians are embarrassed to have their country (or Cariocas, their city) known as sex tourist destination. So they clean it up--for the English (foreigners) to see--but they do not touch the places that are largely out of sight for the foreigners: the termas, the fast-fuck casas, the massage places, even Vila Mimosa. These places have always catered to locals more than visitors because they can be hard to find, and with the exception of the termas, almost no one in the places speaks anything but Portuguese. But there are literally hundreds of privs in Copacabana and, especially, Centro, where 2, 3 or more girls are open for business.

The thing that's changed mongering in Brazil more than anything else is the internet. Over time, girls realized that they didn't have to hang out in a bar all day in Copacabana hoping to find a customer. Now they can advertise on any of dozens of websites (like photoacompanhantes.com) and simply wait for a guy to book an appointment. Lots of the girls I know use various social media (Facebook, Tinder, IG, Tumblr) to get their photos and info out, and every girl I know uses WhatsApp to communicate with customers and book appointments. Many of the girls prefer this arrangement to either working in a club for someone who takes a big cut of their earnings or hanging out in a street side bar all evening.

The internet allows girls to work on their own schedule, and so you end up with a fair number of part-time putas who are trying to pull in some extra cash because their hair salon or store cashier jobs pay shit. For example, I have a "friend" I've been banging for a few years. She now owns a hair salon, and she refers some of her stylists who are interested in making a little extra cash to me. I'm headed to Rio tomorrow, and today she sent me photos and contact info for two of her girls.

One side effect of the importance of the internet and social media is that it makes prostitution less visible, which makes the politicians happy, but also makes it harder for visitors, especially those who don't speak Portuguese pretty well, to find the girls and set something up.

It seems to me that there's been no downturn in the amount of prostitution in any of the Brazilian cities I visit, but it's all moved out of the public's eye. And it's nowhere near as accessible to the novice monger who doesn't speak the language. I suspect that new mongers would struggle in Brazil, and that's why many drift to Pattaya, AC, and other places where you can walk into a club, pick out a girl, and head off with her.

    The Economics of P4P

If I am in the business of selling burgers from a concession truck and my clientele has fallen off and I am making a loss I will eventually have to close down the business all together. Ladies of the night are businesswomen and if their customer base has reduced significantly they will eventually find something else to do with their lives.

The world is currently in recession and there are no longer the vast numbers of men with disposable income traveling to exotic locations to get their freak on. I have observed from since around 2010 a decline in the p4p experience world wide. The quality and quantity of working girls has declined significantly in every major mongering destination. The only establishments I can think of that have not waned are German FKKs which I believe is due to the business smarts of the owners of these clubs. There has not been an increase in official prices in over a decade and in fact the entrance fee for many of them have been reduced.

I believe the problem in Rio is not a cleanup but just that the jefes are unable to pay the authorities the under the table payments that used to flow freely in the past and the authorities have reacted by clamping down on those establishments from which they are receiving no cash.

Some hobbyists are under the mistaken view that in a recession more women would be out of a job and as a result turn to prostitution but that is not necessarily the case, if it were so then the poorest countries would have the highest incidences of p4p but that is not so. It appears that recession has the opposite effect of reducing the prevalence of our hobby. The economics of p4p like economics generally can be complicated.

    Recent trip to Rio.

Just returned from a recent short trip to Rio. Day 1 was a bust I needed to rest. Day 2 I stopped at Mabs at about 1630 I didn't expect to find anyone but to my surprise 1 beautiful chica with the most beautiful tan Polynesian looking skin. Her name was Marcela. I would say she was 26-28. She wanted 300 and we negotiated it to 250. Off we go to my apartment she did everything I asked and wasn't a clock watcher. I'm not saying she stayed a long time but longer than an hour. I enjoyed it so much I gave her 300. I was just spent and as she got dressed I asked her if she would do a threesome. She said sure I like girls. I said I like blonds that are young and not heavy. We agreed to meet the next day at Mabs at 1600 and she said the girl she wanted was a nosho. For the next 30 minutes she would thumb thru her phone and show me pictures of girls and ask if they were ok. If so she would call and leave a message. After a while her phone started ringing with replies. I chose a pretty blond named Rosy. (a blond named Rosy,go figure) 20 minutes later Rosy shows and were off to my apartment. I'm not going to give you a boring blow by blow description but let me say this. In my life I have had many threesomes. None were perfect even the good ones were just a little disappointing. This one was an hour I will never forget. Old spike is standing at attention just thinking about it. I will just make 1 short comment about the event. As they were disrobing they were deep kissing then when naked Rosy directed Marcela to lay on the bed on her stomach as Rosy crawled up between her legs she pulled up her ass and started giving her a rimjob. Total damage 600. If interested pm me for Marcelas phone number.

But the real truth is 99% of them are WG who are pretending not to be ones.

Like your all pretending and lying about who are you meeting with be real hypocrites.

Brazilian new generations of women are not into gringos anymore.

And the WG are always going to pretend that they're not WG.
It is very possible to meet and go on dates with non pros during a week or a 2 week stay-just work dating sites a month before to build rapport and don't tell the girls how short a time you staying. That's game. Make up excuse to go home for emergency lool.

I agree with Sperto non pros are quite easy and many girls want to leave Rio so we are an attractive option if we as well speak portugues! I love Rio Same way-it evolves proportionally with increase in language skills. If you want non pros learn the language. I see more non pros.

Than putas. Maybe 80-20 most trips. Non pros are just as freaky as pros I find. ❤65039; And god bless Brazil. Mind you if Bolsonaro wins-the Brazil's answer to Trump-shit might change a bit but Rio.

Historically has always been a working girl house. A burlesque working girl house by the sea and it's so ingrained in the culture it will find its way in Rio whether it's more CLínicas / online etc.

Why do you suppose the scene in Sao Paulo has been relatively left alone?

Most people I know have heard of Rio De Janiero, but would be hard pressed to think of the name of any other city in Brazil. So, I have to wonder if the focus of these house cleaning activities is on Brazil's major tourist destination. Your thoughts, please.

Also, the mongering crowd who still continue going to Rio is very different from what it used to be. The majority of the mongers in Copacabana used to be a younger crowd. Lots of party at the beach, Meia Pataca, Terrao Atlntico and Help. The girls were busy.
I do my best to avoid Mabs, but on my rare visits it seems like the average age on the mongers is well above 50. Old guys sipping their choppes and hardly giving any business to the ladies.
Brazil is in a recession right now. Last year I was in Rio De Janeiro around the Copacabana area. A lot of restaurants were closing or just barely had costumers like they use too. A lot of nice luxury apartments on Airbnb use to be $100-$300 per night. You can now rent them for as little as $40-$60 right now. It seems like after the World Cup and the Olympics everything went down. Even the girls I talk to in the Termas tell me business is very slow. I think they need all the sex tourist dollars they can get. Sex tourism does boost the local economy.

Now as for Help. I think there is a possibility that another Help can re-open. But I think its because Brazil is not a cheap destination like how it was in the 80's,90's and pre 2000's. Now flights are starting at $1,000 and depending on where you live sometimes $2,000 and then you have to factor in food, women and a place to stay. You can easily spend $4,000-$5000. Prices like that keep most mongers away. When you go to places like Mabs, or when you visit the termas, I personally do not see too many Gringos like before when I first starting going in 2009,2010. I Think its all supply and demand. If alot of gringos started going to Brazil and start flooding Brazil. You will see places like Mabs flooded with beautiful women as there is a chance for them to make alot of money. When you go to mabs its mostly old guys and there not trying to trick off there retirement check like that.

I still love Rio just as much as I did in 1991. It continues to be the most beautiful city in the world. Still very easy to meet regular girls and plenty of puteiros in Centro.

You're closer to the political climate than most of us.

I suppose we hold out hope something like Scandallo could open up and gain popularity. Perhaps somewhere that is in a less visible part of Rio than Avenida Atlantica. Sao Paulo is not a global tourist destination. I suppose the authorities aren't too concerned about the boates there.

I did notice Help Disco especially after the internet explosion was fairly young. I could call my young buddies and say "hey, do you want to go to a beautiful tropical beach destination where you're 100% sure to get laid every day by hot Latin girls?" We had to restrict the numbers in our entourage. In retrospect, I think the girls, while playing the game and plying their trade, did appreciate hanging out with young guys and having a good time.

    Help

Personally I think a new place like Help will never open again. Anyway nothing even close to be similar to the old Help.
Times have changed. In all over Brazil, no capital excluded, there has been a clean-up. Brazil doesn't want to be a destination for sex tourism. In the 80s and early 90s things were very much different. Even Embratur, the Brazilian Tourist Board, did their best to promote Brazil as a monger destination. In the Rio guide brochures handed out to tourists at the airport there were lots of adds advertising termas.

Brazil doesn't miss the dollar from the sex tourists. There are tons of regular tourists coming to Brazil who doesn't look for sex. Just compare the lines of tourists, at Praça do Lido, waiting for the shuttle vans to Corcovado to the few numbers of tourists hanging out at Mabs.

Me either. But we have a lot of ISGers that believe if a woman fucked you then they are expecting money. If that was the case then there are chicks that I have been fucking for years and they have not said anything about money yet. You think they would have starved to death by now.

If you are a prostitute parading as a non-prostitute around me then you better speak up beforehand. To me women are just like food and drink, there are a lot of things that I will eat and drink if they are free, but you wouldn't catch me ordering it if I had to pay for it.

I will also add that there are chicks that go both ways. Back in the day, I met a chick on Cupid. She told me she worked in some office bla bla bla. I got to Rio and she wanted me to go to Rio Sul with her to buy a new washing machine. We got there and she pulled out a big wad of cash. I think they didn't have the machine she wanted though. It was one of those bait and switch things that she saw in the newspaper. So it was all good with this chick. She never asked me for anything.

Fast forward a couple months later and I go to Rio. I walk in front of Help and guess who is standing there. I was laughing my ass off. She kept trying to explain and kept asking to go with me. So where as some may have met her as a hooker, I did not meet her in that mode and she never asked anything from me. She has since moved to Southern France about 10 years ago. We used to keep in touch but fell out of touch. YMMV.
