I've been going to Toronto annually at least for 15+ years. The airport usually has the worst exchange rates. Check the official rates at xe.com and expect maybe a 1% markup via bank ATMs. I always use a debit card at ATMs. For years I got the exact rate but now get some market-up with varies by bank with the ATM.

Originally I thought to open a Canadian bank account but you can not do so as a US resident. I always leave Canada with some extra $CDN so have some when first return if I need before get to an ATM.

Have zillions of reviews of all venues.
