As promised, here my report from my recent PP trip:

I spent only 4 days in PP, stayed at the Lux Riverside on 136 Street, which was quite pleasant. As I booked right before the trip the room I wanted was taken, so I chose the King Suite room. It was very spacious but extremely dark, no ceiling lights. I asked to switch but all they had was the VIP suite but I had to pay 30 dollars extra per night. In Cambodia, please be street smart. In bargaining, one must also know how to pretend as though you are not interested, so one must project the right body language as to tell them "take it or leave it".

You can try bargaining, but these days you will only get a small discount to the market price. Like if they ask $25 usd, then you could probably get it for $20, but no less. Unfortunately sex workers in Asia and especially Cambodia are no longer as desperate as they were say 10 to 15 years ago. This is because their economies are doing much better than in the past.

Flamingo Hotel is no longer a hotel. Now apartments.

Stayed at the old Blue Tongue for the first time late October. It is now called Highland Hotel. (Pontoon disco area) Its been remodeled. Elevator. I stayed in Deluxe Double room. Paid $32.77 US per night for five nights. Included free breakfast. Which was okay. Six item Western style plus six item Asian. Six pieces for French toast. Eggs, meat, toast. Girl friendly.

Went to Darlin Darlin. As a person who has been going to Phnom Penh every year for the past ten years. Still in shock on $100 US for a Cambodian girl. Anyway there was about 10-15 girls at 9:30. Just a lot of sevens. Did not see any eights. But did see a couple of eights hanging out in the casino. Darlins is a lounge where a six person band plays. About 75 to 100 seats. It was full. There are two Naga World properties, across the street from each other. Both have big casinos. You want the eight story building. The other Naga World is 15 stories and all lit up with lights.

I miss Walkabout. If you hit that places two or three times a day. You could pull out an occasional 7 for $20. Now it is a noodle shop that does zero business. Somebody should take over the lease and convert it back into a bar. There are a lot of guys looking to hang out in that area. Somebody could put up three televisions for sports. Find a decent cook and you would have a good business. But you need almost the same size as before. With a pool table and 8 small tables and a bar.
