Last Friday, I flagged down a taxi by Parque Lleras to go to Laureles. The fair should be 11 to 12 mil. I noticed the meter was running too fast. When I arrived at the apartment in Laureles, the meter was at 2150. I told him it was wrong, but he didn't budge. I gave him 20 mil because I didn't have enough smaller bills.
Later, I talked to a taxi driver I trust and he said to take a picture of the side of the taxi. That includes the taxi number along with another number assigned by the pubic safety department. He didn't tell me where to file a report, but he said they could take the driver's taxi license.
In essence, I suggest only using Easy Taxi or Uber. That way, you have a record of the trip.
Newbie here. I am going there on 1/23 ,staying till 2/2,and would like to know how to get FB contacts and Whatsapp numbers for Chicas. I know its a short time and trying to make lemonades of my schedule. Not a big fan of Pros.
Well this is awkward.
The girls on Facebook, in Medellin, who will come over and fuck you for money are Pros.
If you're staying at the Mansion, just go to the bar, ask girls for their Facebook, send a message and ask for their WhatsApp. Or just take them to your room.
Search the Medellin thread for several tutorials on how to find girls on Facebook.

Well everyone that I know have not always had it either, but I taught them about it to make our lives easier. Sorry man, but all you said was that you could not be walking around without a way for someone to contact you. I was just telling you about a free option for people to contact you anywhere you go.
Understood. I've been using Whatsapp for years. I'm not a novice. To this.
Ummm excuse me. My daughter's mother doesn't have WhatsApp nor does my job. We have different reasons for not wanting a new number and being available. I will have mine.

Yup I know this. I have one already. But I need to keep my number from back home in case of emergency. Some of can't be walking around with no way for someone to get in contact with us. If I can get international support and keep my same number. Works best for me.

I've always solved this by having a Skype number, which I've had since 2006.
First it would depend on your ticket. If you are just supposed to be transiting then you may have to follow the international connection line and not be allowed to leave out. If you are allowed to leave out, then immigration in Bogota usually has hella long lines. You better order a wheelchair and act handicap if you plan on getting through that line quick. And don't forget you have to go back through immigration to leave out of the country, which is usually long too. You could do it if immigration was not a factor, but I would not even try it since it is. I will be in Lima from the 4th until the 9th of next month if you are around.
Thanks for the info. I guess I will not try to get to the city in Bogota. Was just trying impress the girl. Anyway will be in Lima only February 14 one night. Then traveling everywhere. Not a mongering trip because I will have a girl with me from here.
Maybe some day we will cross paths and will have a time to clink beer galasses. Thanks,
I do agree absolutely that having connectivity right from jump is amazing coming in to Colombia (for one thing, makes it so much easier to get that Uber from the airport instead of dealing with pissmobiles).
I just want to point out though, that in Colombia, cell phone service is so cheap now that it's literally 20-25% the cost of Fi. And they do sell simcards at the airport.

Thanks for posting this. I just signed up using your link. Looks like it will work for me best in Colombia.
I'm still going to also reload my Colombia SIM card to grab a bunch of data and use it as a hotspot. Thanks.

I think I have shilled for google Fi here before. For americans it is a great international mobile voice and data service but I have used rather in extensively in many countries including columbia, the philippines, thailand, Cambodia, malaysia, Indonesia, Australia but you get the idea. You can save a few pesos getting a local sim card but for me the convenience of having my phone on an active wheels down in a new country is more than worth a couple of dollars period. The knock on google Fi used to be it didn't support a wide varriety of phones (I love my Pixel), but it now supports many Samsung and iPhone models. If interested see below, we both get a $20 services credit if you sing up. Feel free to mesage me with any questions.

And that's not considering the traffic. The wrong time of day it's going to take at least an hour each way by taxi. If there's no long line at immigration, if he takes the Transmilenio, he might be able to spend 30 minutes, but that's a lot of ifs.
Going to Peru via Bogota. Has three hour layover and was wondering is it enough time to go to El Centro ? Not a mongering visit. Going with a girl from here. Just want to take a look and back to airport. Peru trip to see sights, macchu Picchu, Lake titicaca, Lima and other sights.
Looking online it says need only half hour by taxi. Anybody know? Thanks for the info.
