I noticed you said 30 times in the past 6 years. I'm still trying to build up the courage to go for the first time. Can I get some advice? I'm looking for an area where the hotel is walking distance to a terma. I don't care to do much traveling, I'll just go to the terma and back to my room and out for food. Is that possible? If so, what hotel and terma are conveniently located. Also, is it safe to call over escorts?

Sure it's possible, for example you can stay in Copacabana at the Marriott hotel or the Pestana hotel, both are good hotels with nice pool on roof top and breakfast and restaurant and bars. Either hotel is within a few blocks of termas Monte Carlo easy to walk to and several cheaper massage places just a block or 2 more. Plus easy access to another termas in Ipanema called Centaurus and taxi to Solarium in Jardim Botanico.

During the day it is very low risk to walk around, if you find you are leaving a termas when it is dark just call uber and go door to door, this is smart way to keep low risk in Rio.

Escorts are very low risk believe me they are more concerned about you then you are of them, if you call a reputable site it's extremely low risk especially if you are staying in a hotel. If you're going low rent all around then be careful but if you stay in a good hotel and call girls on sites with pics and who are willing to travel to your hotel then you should be ok. If you're looking for a 100 reais HO who you have to travel to then expect the run around and they will make a schmuck out of you.

You don't need courage you need just a little street smarts and at night don't walk the streets just go door to door in a taxi and you can have all you want in Rio.

Planning to come visit during the carnival thinking of visiting Centaurus and trying to termas 4 x 4. Wondering if they will still be filled with gorgeous women and worth a visit while carnival is on? Been to Centaurus many times and left satisfied. Any other places worth visiting during carnival?

My favorite terma is Solarium in Leblon. Lots of good looking girls who are very friendly.

Just take your time before you make your choice and enjoy. Nothing like 5-10 girls trying.

I really like the Copa area although I haven't spent much time in other parts of the city. Many of the members have more experience in the city than me, any advice. I think other parts of the city are much cheaper, I could use a little advice.

I have always preferred to stay in Ipanema and rent an apartment which gives you far more flexibility.

Safer, less crowded and more civilized with lots of bars and restaurants.

Have not been there in a little over a year but doubt that much has changed.

I went to Sensoo last night about 2 am. I walked in and immediately asked for a menu. Just then I saw one sitting by the wall at the corner of the bar and grabbed it. At the top it said entrance fee of 60 reais and 25 reais for drinks like caipirinhas. There were only 2 girls inside and no other customers. I pointed the entrance fee out to the guy that ushered me in and he said not to worry about that. I headed out the door and went to Mab's.

As said before, no need to pay entrance fee.

Last time I went to Sensoo was in January. They might tell you that they charge an entrance fee (R$80) but they are quick to skip the fee. Just pay what you consume.

Like you I like the Copa area. Never gave much thought to staying anywhere else and never have. Always nice to walk down to the beach and feast on some thonged eye candy when not punting.

Ipanema and Leblon are good areas to stay as well. This area is nicer than Copa in my opinion. I actually prefer staying on the Ipanema side near the Arpoador point. I like the vibe. I can hit the best part of Ipanema beach and Arpoador while it's a short walk over to the south part of Copacabana beach. You're also very close to the General Osorio subway stop if that's how you want to travel to Centro.

Hotrod10, it might help if you laid out some of your preferences. Cost, proximity to termas / prives, proximity to a beach, lower crime, etc.
