The US dollar mid-rate is now 50.5. Ten years ago it was 30.5.

Ten years ago Barba Negra prices were 1300 short-time and 1800 all night.

That means their prices remain, as near as dammit, unchanged in dollar terms from ten years ago.

Very fair and sound business practice if you ask me.

Sosua free-lance prices vary a lot more but overall I think the same holds true. Unchanged on average from ten years ago.

    Husker Dude's post

Solid information for newbies to Barba Negra. Prices and specific chicas' names lay it all out for newbies. Great post.

Yes, most drivers stop at Jennys just inside the gate no problem. You will need pesos to pay the chicas. I just got back Sunday from a week stay at BB. Jennys exchange rate which is the same as the banks, WU, etc. Was 50.2 p / On arrival at BB, you can pay in $ as it makes little difference. BB rate on check in is 50 p / but any cash exchanges or check out is 48 p / BB currently has the best roster I've seen there & I've been there for 7-8 years straight. Yes, ST is 2100 and TLN is 3500 p and you pay afterwards. If you want a full 2 hours specify it before taking a chica. They don't usually rush, but usually leave when you finish. Often times they will give you a nice massage afterwards too if you ask. I always bring my own lotion as well as lube and condoms. BBBJ is the norm at BB, sex is covered. Be sure to check out the beach nearby with all it's little restaurants, as well as Sol Mia nearby. I discovered a new restaurant just turn right of Sol Mia (coming from BB) about 1 block called Las Rocas. Excellent meals! Small menu, but imported steaks, best I've had in the DR for only 700 p. In my opinion standout chicas include China, Endi, Anise, Valeria, Yahaira, Naomi, Freshita, Karina,. If you need any meds, there is a pharmacy right across the street from Jennys where you can get Dick Meds, or antibiotics to bring back to the US. They have excellent prices there. & the lady speaks english. Info for others, former chica Hilda is the new mamasan. She and Krystal are now the 2 mamasans, & (both are available). If you need help picking a girl, they are there to help. There is also a chica book at the main desk you can ask for where they have pics and names of most of the chicas there. New day manager Robin is a blast and very helpful as is Nicco the night manager. They can't recommend chicas, but they can help answer any other questions. Have a fantastic trip.

I took this past week and decided to read the entire thread of Blackbeards Resort on this forum. It was actually quite a good read and some really funny shit at times. LOL.

I wanted to thank everyone for your posts and responses it was a great help in deciding to come to BB for the first time. Like I said in my other post I have been to the DR several times but on the south end of the island. This will be my first trip to the north side. My day to day life is really busy and hectic so just looking for lots of lazy days, smoke some cigars, little freaky freaky, smoke some more and be bored. Little more freaky freaky. Hahaha.

Also looking forward to meeting some fellow mongers and maybe tagging along from time to time. This is usually the case anyway.

Being new and not being familiar with my surroundings I have decided to go safe use the BB shuttle and fork up the extra $10 for the taxi I figure what the hell it will not break the bank. My only concern is if immigration / customs take forever at the POP airport and the driver leaves me stranded like I read that happened to one guy. Also I will probably go ahead and make my first USD exchange at BB instead of Jenny's, again just because I am not familiar with the place. Unless someone arrives the same time I do and has been there before. I am hoping to make future exchanges at Jenny's once I am there during the week.

Honestly the only negative thing I read way back in the forum was when the one guy said he had some money stolen out of his safe in his room. That really surprised me. In all my travels I have never had this issue and never considered someone breaking into my safe. Additionally I always chica proof my room of course. But that made me think all kinds of shit like what kind of safes are there at Blackbeards. Combination, keyed Hmmmm. Anyway I am sure it is not an issue or others would have posted similar issues as well. Enough said! LOL.

Lastly regarding the shipmate prices I understand that the ST (1-2 Hrs) is now $2100 just as an example. 1.) Does it really last up to 2 hours? 2.) Should you really have to negotiate and or confirm that set price before you go to the room? Just wanted some clarification on that. 3.) Do you pay the Chica before the ST or after the ST? That was never stated either. Just curious because I do not want to get there and with my first Chica she tries to tell me it is more than 2100 after we finish!

I will also be posting my trip report upon my return in March as well.
On the taxi, from the airport, I would not worry. Incoming Customs at POP are really not a problem at all. The only wild card is that a plane load of European tourists arrives at the same time, putting a mob of people in line with you. But hell, this is the DR, punctuality is not a law. I'd be surprised if the cabbie leaves you.

On money, I warn you that you will get a LOUSY exchange rate at the hotel. Do not change much money. Arriving by cab, you will pass through a gateway for Costambar, and just a few seconds down the road on your right is Jenny's. Hard to miss the only grocery store in sight. THAT is where you will get the best exchange rate. Either walk back later, after settling in, or just ask the cabbie to stop and wait (hell, you're paying for the ride). Once inside, just say "Quiero cambiar dinero. " (kee-yero cahmbyar dinero) and they'll direct you to the office in back. While there, buy yourself some bottles of water. (BB offers free coffee, but potable water is for sale).

Pay the girls AFTER your session.

I personally never had problems with the room safes. If you are really concerned, bring a small padlock (or two) and lock a small bag inside another locked suitcase. (Yes I KNOW someone could cut the bags, but there are reasonable limits). In theory, money could "disappear" from a safe, but with no signs of entry, it remains debatable. A damaged suitcase leaves no doubt, and I promise you, the cleaning ladies there are very unlikely to risk their income over a one time theft.

Again, I don't know the details of the other case, but I never had a problem with the room safes. (Any other veterans with room safe comments?

Point well taken, ha, Definitely do not need any of that unwanted drama. Probably not a good idea for either to be drunk. LOL. Buzz is good.

I personally am not a heavy drinker mostly a social drinker but it is nice when you do drink if they could drink a little with you. Thanks again for every ones feedback. Much appreciated!

This is going to be a great trip!
Charles Pooter gave some additional reasons not to overdue the booze (you or the girl). They aren't working there because their lives are so perfect. Don't open that door. On your part, getting drunk is a mistake (as I know personally) as too much numbs the mind, senses, memory; all of which you want to keep. If I am drinking hard liquor, it robs me of the experience, and to a degree, my memory of the night before. Stick to the beer, and don't let any of your companions overdo it.

If you don't mind transporting it, before you leave, pick up some Brugal or Barcelo rum at Jenny's, to take home as a souvenir.

Chicas are not allowed to be too drunk and behave badly.

Unless chica will become aggressive it's not a problem as hotel makes a huge chunk of its profits from booze sales. Just try to be careful, drunk chica can be a lot of fun or a total disappointment.

Once I took chica to the room from the bar without realizing she was very drunk and had one of the best wild sex experiences of my life. She almost broke my dick in the process, LOL. I have noticed a few bruises on different body parts only next morning.

Another time chica was drinking a lot at the disco and was funny as hell, but when we came back to the room and I went to the shower she fell asleep and I was not able to wake her up by any means, even by putting a few ice cubes from the refrigerator on her back LOL. Morning sex was pretty bad due to her hangover. She even tried to ask for payment for TLN, unsuccessfully of course.

Absolutely. While the chicas necessarily put on a happy face, they mostly have all sorts of personal problems arising from poverty, and the poor standards of health and education in the country, abusive partners or family members, etc. Plus very few are really comfortable deep down with being working girls. This is rarely a problem as they do a professional job, but if drunk their restraints are lowered and they can blow their top for trivial reasons, and if you too are drunk you may not respond in the wisest way.

Obviously less of a danger at Blackbeards, but it has happened there.

I always wonder why guys drink to excess here. They can do that in their own countries, but they cannot normally find girls at DR prices.

One thing I have not found though. If you chose to have a girl for all night or (2 session) are the girls allowed to catch a buzz with you or possibly get a little tipsy (drunk). LOL.

Some of the other resorts I have stayed at really shyed away from this. They allowed the girls to drink but they could not get drunk.
Since getting a chica out of a bar in Sosua has no limitations, I presume you are talking about an establishment like BB. I know of no restrictions on the girls drinking. (Anything like weed, however, is strictly prohibited on the premises). Can't imagine that anyone would object. Guys are constantly buying chicas a beer, etc. I often used to buy a large Presidente for a couple of girls to share at a table.

In fact, in the past, one chica preferred to toss back a couple of tequilas, to get really primed for a session with me. The girls don't exactly work FOR the hotel. They are technically not BB "employees. " They are technically freelancers, but have to comply with certain requirements and standards of conduct to be allowed to ply their trade on site.
