I am planning a first trip to Cartagena after many trips to Costa Rica, BKK and a trip to MDE last year. Love BKK, but way too far from the US East Coast. MDE was great, but would like to be near the beach to have more daytime activities. Trying to find a hassle free place to stay and folks keep mentioning Juan and Mery, but I cannot find contact information for them on ISG forums or a Google Search. If anyone has contact information for them I would really appreciate someone sending me a PM. I also would love to find a local driver and guide to show us around for the first couple of days. In MDE we used a local driver and guide for the first couple of days and it made the trip so I would love one to find one in Cartagena if anyone has someone they could recommend. We have contacted some of the on-line bachelor party sites and we are looking for something more affordable and low key. Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

I am in cartagena now.

Not knowing guest policy, I reserved for a couple days at Hilton cartagena. I reserved for 1 person. I tried to bring a girl to the room, desk personnel said because I booked for 1 person it'd be a 60 usd fee and asked for my credit card. Begrudgingly, I was about to fork over the card. They'd already taken the girls cedula and was making copies. Angrily, one of the desk guys was like, this is a fake ID, you can't enter. Some back and forth and he was like, look, this is a fake ID leave or I'm calling the police. I just walked off deciding it wasn't worth the hassle.

Hilton said if I book for 2 persons, I can bring whoever I want. Except they will only register one person per stay for free. After the first person a 60 $ fee kicks in.

Hilton was full so I couldn't extend. Checked out yesterday and into hotel almirante. Booked for 2 persons and she asked the name of the later arriving guest. I smiled and told her I didn't have a name yet. She smiled and gave the same spill as at Hilton. I cracked up laughing when she suggested that I choose wisely.

Hampton by Hilton said there is no fee at all. They just register the girls cedula.

Friday and Saturday night the clock tower, dolce vita and space were packed to the brim. Most girls I came across started at 200 k for the hour, would take 150 k. Street girls 100 k. I took one from space. Was about a 7 and vibed great. 200 k and she included BBBJ, CIM and couple of other nasty azz shish that we hadn't even talked about. Makes all the difference in the world if the girls comfortable with you. We walked from the club to a short time hotel about ten minutes away. Was 20 k. There's one closer but it was closed.

Isis girl offered 350 for hour. 700 k for four hours. I don't think I'll ever be that drunk to agree to that.

I can confirm that both Charleston and Hilton are fine with visitors, Hilton charges a fee. I think most places seem to be like this if booking a hotel. Charleston, may or may not charge a fee I guess depending on who is working at the time. It's a larger hotel with a lot of traffic so I think they may not even notice you are going up with someone. Security at Hilton is very tight. I have heard Movich is okay with visitors so I have narrowed my choices down to Charleston and Movich. As per previous post, Sofitel is definitely a no go zone for visitors.

Question. How have you guys found Cartagena recently compared with Panama City as this is my last real experience in Latin America (except for Brazil but I discount Rio and Sao Paulo as it's hard to find anywhere that remotely compares). Also I'm not a clocktower guy, if I have no luck on tinder or at the bars I'll probably use an agency or one of the escort managers that works in Cartagena. I do not have their numbers, does anyone have any contact info for these people and / or know who is the best?

Contrary to my report last week, this week is MUCH better compared to last week (Baranquilla festival must have all the hot girls keeping away) in terms of the quality of the girls I have observed. With that said, sadly Electra is closed, your only two good night options left are Dolce Vita and Space both next to each other, both packed. Streetwalkers (clock tower girls) now routinely ask 200 K for an hour, club girls are 300 K an hour and 500-700 a night. But you can negotiate. Yes loads of dudes and what appears to be bachelor party type groups, but I would not write Cartagena off as a mongering destination yet.

That might explain it. I was there the week (and weekends) before the festival. I can see these chicas either taking a break in Barranquilla or going there to work. The prices are likely higher because of the high number of dudes. It's in-season now so I'm not too concerned about that.

I've brought plenty of Venezuelans back to the apartment I was staying at without issue. They either have a passport with a recent entry stamp or a Colombian residency card.

I now go with Mery or Juan to be sure. Last stay at the Estellar they gave me issues with Venezuelan passport even for my male friend, I don't know the details of their passport pages so I'd rather not take chances. Also check with Hyatt if they charge guest fee (may or may not, but heard hotels like Sofitel etc charge a lot).

I do not mind ID checks, but I disliked the idea that a Venezolana could not return to the hotel with me for the night. Are you suggesting that the Hyatt might not be chica friendly (that is, towards Colombian chicas)?

I've brought plenty of Venezuelans back to the apartment I was staying at without issue. They either have a passport with a recent entry stamp or a Colombian residency card.

Yeah, I'm afraid the "no document checks" will get you nowhere. Even chica-friendly buildings will require IDs. I think, you might have a better chance of quietly sneaking a chica in a hotel than getting them past building security. I think there was a story about sneaking a chica in at Hilton, try to search this thread.

I have been reading this thread with a heavy heart. I have to go to Cartegena for work in June. At first, this seemed like a delightful task, but after reading here, I am not so happy. I have emailed a few Airbnb owners and, when I described EXACTLY what I was looking for (chica friendly, no docuiment checks late at night), they admitted that they did not want my type of chica brought back to their nice homes. So now I am looking for a hotel.

I have traveled extensively around Latin America, and finding a hotel that is not chica friendly is difficult although obviously not impossible!

Based on what I read here, the Hyatt Regency in Bocagrande is probably chica friendly, but they will probably not be friendly to Venezuelans. I am willing to forego Venezuelans, but only because there is likely to be plenty of choice. Does anyone have experience at this hotel?

I've been to Cartagena three times now. First time was 4 years ago and I absolutely loved the stay. It was great for mongering with abundant options.

The past two times I've been the scene has been relegated to LDV and Space. And it's been very difficult to find a chica friendly place to stay at.

What complicates this further is that now Club Pley is shut down so there are really no options to go somewhere on site and have a good time.

With all the negative press that hit the area based on the [CodeWord908] problem (widely reported over the last year) - it's likely that the city has really cracked own on the pay-for-play scene.

A shame. But seems that most of Colombia is experiencing negative developments for mongers.

You don't need to go to Laguito. There are TONS of places that are chica friendly. Document check is mandatory anywhere there is security. Why would you want to skip that? Book a hotel for a week. Go to the buildings around Bocagrande that look newer and you'll see people in the uniforms of their real estate agencies. Ask them about the accommodations and the rules governing guests.

It's that simple.

I refuse to post information publicly and stopped spreading it through messaging about chica friendly apartments because those buildings end up being ruined by people going down with ten friends who act like the rules don't apply to them. The last trip I had to complain twice about music blasting at 4 AM in the morning. Ridiculous.

Like I said, I'd definitely stay in El Laquito or Boca vs Centro. And there was nothing wrong about Juan's apartment (I believe the same you'd stayed at before me), but I'll probably try to find something a little fancier next time with a better pool.

However, Juan is a class act and very responsive, and I would recommend using him in a heartbeat.

Last year I asked as many girls and taxi drivers about guest policies in Boca and El Laguito and the response was always the same, almost all the buildings at the beach allow guests, some with restrictions on time allowed and overnights. Almost all the apartments and hotels in Centro, frown upon or ban guests.

Another centro option is VRBO. Search for 1 and 2 br apartments and then do the work to contact about the guest policy.

Problems that have been reported in past is that VRBO renter response will say guest no problem and then you get a problem when you try to bring in a guest.

That is why Juan is so popular, his apartments and the buildings never give a hassle to guests about bringing in friends.

I'm in my fifties, I'm overweight, and I'm balding. I pay $800 dollars to fly to Cartagena, I Pay $700 for the week of the apartment. If I pay equivalent to $ 60 dollars for an hour and a half with a beautiful young chica with a rocking body there is nothing stupid about it. I like to get as much quality for my money as the next guy, but I'm not necessarily going to because some of those girls do not want two hundred and ninety pounds of old man on top of them. I've experienced this in Colombia as well as Thailand where some women tell me honestly that they would up their price for me because of my weight. I don't blame them.

Thank you guys for mentioning this. I can never fault the next man for paying whatever he pays. I can't afford 400 k a session with a Chica. But I'm also not kidding my self that they will take 80 k to get smashed all night. I love Ctg. I don't know why but I do. More then Mde. I will continue to go. I treat the women with respect. I don't over pay but I don't low ball them either. I have established a good reputation there as being fair. But fellas pay what you think is good and what your bank account can handle. Will be in town again in June. You see a black guy with a Cubs hat. Buy me some Hennessy LOL.
