Naivas complex which is near Voyager you have 3 clubs, you can try these on the weekend.

City mall just across from the Naivas complex has Lounge bar and Sheba, try these also.

Cheers just up the road try anytime after 4 pm and there will be girls there.

There is a strip of bars in Bamburi but I've never been myself.

If you feel daring you could try Casablanca in town.

Short time 2000 and long time just work up over from that.
Are you sure that Casablanca is still open? My mate told me the owner died a couple of years back and was closed.

    Thanks for the info.

Mombie and Zimzam, thanks for the replies and helpful information. Bike rentals are way more expensive in Kenya compared to Thailand. In Thailand, I can rent a bike for a month easy for $100 US dollars. Mombie, you mentioned if I feel daring try Casablanca, are you suggesting this is a club catering for locals? In Thailand, the girls always call me a sexy man. However, in reality, I am middle age and an overweight white man. Will I be just as sexy in Kenya as I am in Thailand?

    Rentals

Any recommendations of where to rent one and what would be the cost for a month?

There is an elderly guy renting out off-road style motorbikes in Mtwapa, opposite the supermarket which is next to Posta, near the junction with the main road, where all the Matatus stop.

These bikes are of varying quality, so you have to pick a good one. He is asking 1500 ksh per day (15 $) . Yes it's possible to make a deal with a boda boda driver to rent their bike, if you rent for a long time you should be able to have it for 1000 a day. I once got a good bike when I asked the people at Safari Inn and they called someone.

There is a car rental business not far from the mall which is still called Nakumatt, though that shop is no longer open. It is opposite the gate of some kind of zoo, named Haller Park. There is a club at that same gate, used to be named Black Havana.

They ask for 2500 a day, should be less if you rent for a longer period.

Tuk Tuks are very uncomfortable, especially on the bad roads.

    Hello Newbie here.

I am new to the forum. I am traveling to Mombasa for the month of October with a mate who has been to Kenya many times, however, his last visit was in 2012. I have never been to Kenya I have lived in Thailand for 8 years and traveled throughout S. E. Asia and South America. We are book to stay at the Voyager Beach Resort and we have an "after hours" 2 bedroom apartment in Mwtapa. Yes, we could have traveled cheaper but I am getting older now and I certain comforts. I understand after reading some posts on this forum and speaking with my mate it's all freelancers. So I have a couple of questions and if they have been asked in the past forgive me.

    1. What are the clubs / bars I should be visiting for day and night mongering?

    2. What is the going rate for short-time and long-time?

    4. Any other helpful information that you can share would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

4 and 5 star you would have to pay full rate and heck them in properly to get them access.

    Coba Cabana Beach area

Recently the Coba Cabana Beach area in Mtwapa at the mouth of the Creek has developed into something like the public beach (Kenyatta Beach) in Bamburi.

At first only the Coba Cabana Beach bar was there but now dozens of makeshift bars have sprung up over the full length of the sandy beach with hundreds of chairs placed there, children's playground etc.

Especially in the weekends the place is fully packed. Cars parked everywhere, even though the road to reach there is quite bad.

So there is a lot of competition for the original see see bar and with the prices they charge for the food they will surely feel the competition.

At the rocky end of the beach there is a very picturesque place now, called the "Crab's Den", partly hidden in the caves, with relaxing seats between the rocks & beautiful views over the Creek. & if you are lucky freshly caught fish at an affordable price.

Kendas village near Lambada nightclub, (not kendas arcade), have ac and new rooms, you could get from 1500-3000 a night.

Try the Merryvilla and Estate Gate hotels.

Most rooms in both places are fan only, but they each have a few AC rooms.

Expect to pay 2,000-2,500 per night for an AC room with breakfast included.

    Both are girl friendly.

Been to Asian loads of times, Colombia and few places in Europe but really want to try Africa as I love black girls.

I've read the forum and I can see that it is often recommended to stay in mtwapa but I'm wondering if this is the best location for me.

I want somewhere near nightlife or cheap taxi fare away but want to be close to a gym and a supermarket if possible as I like to cook my own food.

Which area do you guys recommend?

    Thanks in advance.
Madagascar is a hidden gem if you can speak French.

Girls are a mix between Asia and Africa, and very GFE.

I hope they don't try to make another empty fancy club out of it. So many authentic African joints and old fashioned discos burned down, were closed or razed to the ground.

    Neddy.
