The funniest part is if you read through even the oldest archives on ISG it will be full of the same stuff referring to the the good old days. Wait, weren't those negative posts made in the good old days of present?
Many people's income have increased many folds during just the past two decades alone. For those the price, relatively speaking, is not more expensive. Thermae is still cheap to them. And that is one of the reasons why there are more tourists, because the tourists income have increased and they can afford to travel.

Compare the cost to independent worker in US, the girl's rate is about 1/4 of what a lawyer make, also much less than a good engineer's hourly rate. On top of that, the girls have very limited billable hours. I know this is not exactly the right comparison. I just use this to demonstrate how affordable it is to some.

I live in a area a two bedroom apartment rent is US $3000. If you own a house there and rent it out, you could rent a condo in Bangkok, pay for 1 Thermae girl every night, and problably still have some money left over. In a way, it costs almost nothing.

I think a little bit of miscommunication going on. I have to go back to see what you said. You said 5 best looking (to you), he said top girls (of all Thermae). In this case, they probably are not the same. Your price even after negotiation is very low for what Asian think is a good looking girl. If you sit around near the door, you can observe the top girl don't stay inside Thermae very long after they come in. I read someone else made the same observation recently. That is why they don't need to negotiate and why people disagree with you.

I am just trying to apply some context as an observer here, not making a judgment of right or wrong.

I'll add; I see far more attractive women around Bangkok now than 20 years ago. Some of the Chinese tourist gals are just smoking hot, put many of the local lasses to shame, however many of the local gals are excellent as well. Walking around central BKK is a treat for the eyes. It's just too bad those lookers are not in the P4 P market, or at least not in the farang market. After looking at these awesome chicks all day it is difficult to enter any P4 P venue as the compromise is just too great. One of my mates made an excellent observation about Jakarta. The gals you see on the street and in the malls are just no where near as good looking as what you see in the clubs. Sure wish it were that way here.

Life is way better now with a much greater range of options and technology. Yes bar girls cost more but now there are so many options out there now, way more than in the "old days". Who could imagine 30 or 40 years ago that you could fill up a mobile phone with contacts and basically just order like it is a menu. Some paid for some and some not.
I'd disagree with your last statement. Technology has had a profound effect on the "scene. " it has made it easier and more accessible to far more punters. And I view that as a negative. Before smart phones you had to do some of the ground work yourself, interact face to face with others, and you had fewer sources to rely upon. Bangkok was not nearly as user friendly and let's not get started on Cambodia and Indonesia. In addition there were far fewer people traveling in Asia and it was still slightly adventurous. It took effort, it was a bit of a gamble, and there were obstacles, but most were kind of fun to overcome. You could liken it to climbing Everest in the 40 years ago and doing it now. Few tried back then, now there is a line going up the mountain. The difficulty kept a lot of people away. Scenes change. Imagine being in Prague in the early 90s and having hot Czech gals for 10 USD! Or Brazil in the 80s and early 90s, even well into the 00s. One friend who left BKK in the mid 00s said to me, when it gets expensive and crowded you move on.
That being said there were very important things that were easier. Visas being one. As long as you stayed away from drugs and didn't hurt anyone it was relatively easy to stay as long as you wanted in most of SE Asia. Travel was a breeze. Flights never full. You were under far less scrutiny overall. That matrix no longer exists.
Now, like many other places on the planet bkk's become quite homogenized. Many Thais are happy that most of the street vendors are gone and there are copious malls like Singapore. I'm glad they are happy. The old Bkk is still there, but it's harder to find. Again, I'm thrilled that many of you still find the Bkk scene fun.

I met a Lady in Bangkok Beat and during a conversation a LB walked by with a tourist. The lady I was talking to laughed about what a surprise that guy will get tonight. She then followed up with "you can put your finger in me right now", I'm not an LB. I declined and left the bar.

If you continually have new and exciting things to keep yourself busy whether it be girls, traveling, learning muay Thai in Thailand you will not have to dwell in the past and speak about what you've done lately.

I was getting a bit tired of every day gogo bar life of late so this week I'm in a new foreign country trying new things out.

There are many examples of confrontation. If the one you happen to choose is one of someone getting shot, then you can live in your world of extremes. Because people get shot for bumping into someone at Thermae right? Was that in the recent news? Even in the land of irrational behavior, is this a regular or likely instance to you? If I were to point to an article of a German man getting stabbed waiting for the bus in Bangkok last September, I certainly wouldn't use that to label Bangkok as an unsafe area. I wish I had private messaging to continue this discussion with you.

Thermae closed down by cops tonight at 11 pm

Got the info from a girl as I walked by around 2 am. Cops shut down the place. Supposedly because of complaints about non Thai Asian women working there.

(Viet, Lao) . Supposedly the owners of the bar asked for the cops to check the ID's of women there, to escape prosecution / problems on that front.

I think those videos are going to give you a more realistic assessment of how the girls look in a given destination than photos posted here. As I've said before, I could easily show someone (or post here) a recent photo of a girl who would look like a stone cold 9 or even a 10 but who in real life looks and comes across no better than a 6.5 or a 7. By the same token, I could show someone a photo of a girl that might elicit a guffaw of derision from a dude and, sure enough, 2 minutes after that dude meets that girl in the flesh he's hounding me for her contact info.

But with the videos you see on YouTube these days, I think you can make a fairly accurate comparison between, say, the girls of Thermae and in front of Nana Hotel in Bangkok vs the girls on Beach Road and on Soi 6 in Pattaya or wherever. Inside the go-go bars is a different matter. But the range from what you see on the streets or in front of the bars isn't really going to be wildly different behind closed doors very often.
This reminds me since you brought up photos. On the dating sites, these TGs are using filters increasingly which is becoming a nuisance given that it masks how she really looks. Almost have to assume that she's not good looking if these filtered photos are all that is used.

You really seem to have major anger management issues.
