Interesting to see these two reports, and not a surprise.

Mangily Is not an active monger place, mainly a place to relax, nice beach and lagoon, some visits on the sea or in the area, nice hotels and restaurants.

As already said by several mongers here its a place to byog from TuleAR, as its less than 1 hour you can easily make visits and come back.

And you can find these masseuses which are not spinners for sure, but I must say that I liked one of them, everyday. Or quite.

Mangily Day 1.

The taxi left Tulear at 10 40 am The journey from Tulear to Mangily was good and relaxing but it was really very hot. The road is in good condition. After reading previous reports from Albert9989, I had booked La Bella Donna Hotel in Mangily through email and phone. We reached La Bella Hotel at around 11.20 am.

The hotel has no reception as such. I walked to the restaurant and met Françoise whose sister is the wife of the owner of the hotel. Again as per recommendations of Albert 9989, I had chosen Bungalow No. 2 on the beach. The price for one night was MGA 90,000. The bungalow has a bed which is on an elevated platform with mosquito net. There is a small safe on the wall near the bed. The bathroom has rain shower. Although hot water is available, it is a little erratic. There is a living space with a table and a couple of chairs. On the balcony, there a wooden sofa with a foam bed and a small table. So, after checking in and unpacking my luggage, I relaxed on the sofa in the balcony for a while.

After waking up, I refreshed and walked along the beach. It was really very hot. Near hotel Princesse du Lagon, just before reaching Hotel Maroloko, there is a lane which leads to the sandy road where there is Freddy Restaurant. So, I walked to this restaurant for lunch. I had grilled fish with rice and salade at MGA 13,000 and a vegetable dish at MGA 12,000. The food was good and the amount also was good.

Freddy is a nice man. He runs the restaurant with his wife. He is quite well known given the number of people who come to meet and greet him. Asked Freddy whether I could come to watch football in Canal + Sports channel, he agreed.

After lunch, I returned to La Bella Donna Hotel taking the same route so that I don't get lost. On the way, I was approached my one woman who proposed massage by one of two girls who were with her. I said I would think about it later.

Take a van bus ride eight or twenty hours and at feeding stops there won't even be a cold drink to be had: no refrigeration, no ice. There's novelty value but nothing to do. As one guy said a while back, 'you'll be wandering around like a stray dog. ' The appeal is the simple fact that as an impoverished country things are cheap. And because of poverty, people must do what they can to survive. Obviously, that includes the women.

That is false, as the valuable contributor Neddy kindly told us that Nosy Be has the best facilities and infrastructure in the country. If you are going to write false reports, not to mention full of hostility to forum members, you would do everyone a favour by departing the forum. Truth hurts.
