Don't think I'd reach the conclusion, as some posters have, that the Chinese can't stop or greatly hinder the world's oldest profession. This is a tightly monitored and controlled environment. Even in the "free and democratic" US, federal and local governments have clamped down on prostitution, making it dangerous and overpriced. The US, guided by its grandiose 1st amendment, recently shut down Backpage. In fact, the US is more than willing to curtail freedom of speech and private business transaction between willing parties under the guise of (relatively rare) child smuggling. Authoritarian China could do much, much more.

If I were a betting man, I'd say mongering will be getting more and more dangerous in Shanghai, though the deteriorating environment could be punctuated by some periods of more lax enforcement.

The squads from BJ are leaving end of June so it should get much better then, especially since local LE made sure no bad surprise are to popup during this period.

Still, its all part of a campaign that is meant to last till the end of 2019 and noone knows how things will go until December nor what they will decide for 2020 and onwards.

One of my faves is coming back to town, she will be hanging out at the spot with 2 of her friends. I told her to be careful, I wish I was in town. Her and Sun are my ATFs, I do like spinners and Tina's DT always makes me happy.

I have read on a local site that Sh police is doing a lot of arrests to cut the resource providers of some big gang (s) or similar crime organisations. So, could be that the wind on "our" MPs and the like are gusts from a bigger hurricane. And reading the posts over the arrests for drugs issues, easily can be connected to this news.

This can be a good news or a bad news. Good news would be that, once the gangs are gone, everything goes back to normal and ma be cheaper (just dreaming.). Bad news would be that there will be shortage of "raw material" and price goes up.

Hope for the first one.

And I am pretty sure it is hard to stop the oldest job in the world.

I am sure it is needless note, but I would advise to not share any wechat contact with unknown people, especially in the current environment.

Yeah, I also got a PM from a new member. He was asking for a WeChat contact of a well known WG whose contact is very easy to find. So I suspect it's LE. This happened during that last crackdown, where a person with no posts suddenly was asking specific details and contacts of various places and gals. Let's not get anyone in trouble, including ourselves obviously. Don't give out details to unknown people.

Islamization of Shanghai continues.

Was in one of city's most famous 5-star hotels. Asked about massage. She said all massage services closed this month. Might open again in future, but not sure. This the most plain vanilla massage known to mankind.

Time to get out of Shanghai. I'm not optimistic about the future.

Is this a safe option even during the stormy environment currently? Anything I have to be aware when "booking" a provider there?

Or would you recommend to keep quiet at the moment and wait until the storm is over?

You do know that Wechat is monitored and big bro can zap posts before they even materialize, and you ask is it safe. The only question is have the powers to be decided to leverage their crackdown to include social media solicitations.

My observations of the WG is that class sessions are still in full swing on my Wechat, so they haven't stopped class openings study sessions, now who is waiting on the other side I let you risk for yourself.

Yes. Things have taken a very bad turn. If you call it an Islamisation of Shanghai, it would not be a total exaggeration.

Many ordinary, totally legit massage parlors have closed for June for "renovations. " Those that remain open generally cannot do cross-gender massages. There's been a heavy crackdown on bars that stay open late, often testing any random client for drug use.

Hard to say where it will end. However, I don't believe we'll get back to where we were 3 years ago any time soon.

They are offering to come to your place, or you go to their place? Anyway, the Shanghai forum is full of reports of WeChat gals, and almost all of the reports are negative. Everything from fake pics, poor service, upselling when they get into your room, stealing, and also even death threats from anonymous people. Why not just meet up with HuJing, or Maria, or Wenli, or others known to be safe and reliable?
