Your story doesn't sound real. With lumbar puncture, you can rule out infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer. They found out I have cancer by using lumbar puncture. Neoplasm caused by stomach cancer. If all negative, that means you have no neurological problems, If your MRI, Cat scan and lumbar puncture were normal, that means everything is OK, you had no neurological problems. Sorry but I don't believe in your story. You are an imaginary person with so called neurosyphilis because some people talked about ocular syphilis and neurosyphilis.

I don't care if you don't believe me. I am the one living with the issue. I was not forthcoming with the Dr's about my sexual activity when I first went in for the eye issues. They performed a series of test because they wanted to rule out Stroke, MS, Lupus, Bartonella (sp? Tick borne disease. My symptoms apparently were common for all those diseases. I didn't even consider Syphilis as a possibility and that was stupid on my part. When asked again about me sexual activity I came clean and they performed more blood work and it came back positive for Syphilis. Maybe I wrong when I said I have Ocular Syphilis, all I know is I had syphilis and I lost eye sight in one of my eyes and the Dr's all said the same thing it was a direct result of the syphilis.

It's a good idea to get tested for syphilis and consult an dermatolovenerologist if you caught symptomatic std or non sexual ulcers devlopped without reason on your penis, I agree with you syphilis can cause ocular diseases, most of ocular syphilis and syphilis meningitis are caused in the early stage. Tertiary stage is very rare in untreated people. Syphilis is the easiest sexual disease to cure with antibiotics. It's easier to cure in the early stages than gonorrhea. But untreated, it may cause more harm than gonorrhea. Many people with primary syphilis cure without developing serology scarring. If you are treated in the primary stage and your initial test is negative and you get treated ASAP, you will be cured without having serology scarring because your body did not build immunity. There are only 400 cases of neurosyphilis in the USA. 140 are asymptomatic. Most of them happen in MSM with HIV followed by MSM without hiv. Neurosyphilis is very rare, many neurologists have never seen neurosyphilis in their carreer. If you have ever had syphilis, you are no more eligible to give blood, plasma or your sperm in the UK and Europe but you are eligible to give blood, plasma and your sperm in the USA and Canada and other countries that don't follow WHO policy if you were treated for syphilis 12 months ago. I am dermatovenerologist but focus on infectious diseases. I studied general medicine, dermatovenerology and infectology. I am not an expert at non-infectious diseases. I don't pretend to know everything in the medicine but I have a basic knowledge of non infectious medical conditions. He had genital herpes, it has nothing to do with syphilis. As enjoylife stated, you don't need std tests to diagnose neurosyphilis. Lumbar puncture helps to rule out inflamatory and infectious diseases. If infectious diseases is suspected, more blood tests to find the right infectious disease will be performed. Many bacterial and viral diseases cause stroke like symptoms. False positive is common in syphilis diagnosis. Because many bacterial diseases may cause false positive, cross reactivity.

Why wouldn't you suspect Syphilis? Vision problems after a chancre sounds like absolutely classic symptoms, even I don't have expertise. I don't know if herpes lesions are at all similar, but I suppose that threw you off the scent.

As many people do I have Herpes so yes I had an outbreak after my last visit so I didn't think anything about the chancre. The other symptoms I experienced after my last visit I just wrote them off as getting older and did not think anything more about it.

I visited the eye Dr for an exam because I noticed my blurry vision was getting worse. He saw that my ocular nerve was severely swollen and sent me to Ophthalmologist who in turn sent me to Neurologist because they thought I had possibly had a stroke or early signs of Multiple Sclerosis. They performed a CAT scan, MRI, lumbar puncture and multiple blood draws. Everything came back negative. I had not been forthcoming with the Dr's about my mongering activities. I consented to be tested for STI / STD's and came back positive for Syphilis. I went to two other Dr's to have second and third opinions. Each time after testing I showed positive for Syphilis.

I was given an injection of Penicillin and and told to come back for another blood test 2-3 weeks later. I still tested positive for syphilis. The Dr told me they have seen an increase recently of some strain of syphilis coming out of SE Asia that was not responding to the normal treatment protocols. It was decided to give me the 21 day continuous drip Penicillin treatment. I have since been tested and all results are negative..

So many close relatives or friends are on statins and still believe heart disease is all about cholesterol. Its frightening how they want to trust doctors and big Pharma.

People are not getting calcification scans, scared of a miniscule radiation dose, while conveniently they can't find out if they have serious heart disease and if it is progressing.

They might find they have nothing to worry about and certainly don't need Statins.

Instead the doctors make big money while saying Statins will smash you high LDL readings. Modern experts talk about Insulin resistance instead of cholesterol.

Statins shut down several important body functions or biological processes. Such an expensive way to treat heart disease with such poor results. Doctors don't want cheaper ways that are more effective.

Diet is the big one, surprise surprise.

He basically shreds the cholesterol being bad and taking statins big pharma induced thingy and much more.
