Did you try to have sex with her? If not, why not? Respectable girls like sex too and are open to being 'convinced' on the first date.

Most day time casas are closed on Sunday. Strip clubs are open and close at about midnight.

Bar and Restaurant recommendations for hanging with a non pro or pro chica

Yo fellas I will be in town this week. I wanted to know a decent location to hang with a chica for drinks maybe some dancing. My days are Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I know some times it's hard to find parties on these days. In my last trip it was damn near impossible. I will be staying in engery building. Appreciate any assistance thanks.

Have you downloaded the map? The map has some websites, hours of operation, etc. For the various sex establishments in addition to the locations.

I've been to strip clubs on Sundays. Typically, casas are not open during the evening.

I don't get it. There is a detailed map with an ample amount of sex establishments, hundreds of trip reports, detailed videos on youtube, social media, online contacts, etc. Yet, I still see people asking questions about Medellin? It reminds me of a facebook group I'm in where every month someone different asks what the cost of living is in Medellin.

Why does anybody here even stay at the hotels? Airbnb.com has amazing prices on entire apartments, there's currently a studio apartment for $15/ night with A. See in El Centro available & tonnes of Laureles apartments are going for $13-17/ night. What's the advantage of getting an apartment over an airbnb when the prices are so much cheaper?

    Other experiences

I wasn't inspired by ColombiaLover's report, it just worked out that I had a different type of experience today.

A Venezuelan I met 2 years ago has stayed in touch with me. She was back in Venezuela until yesterday when she managed to return to Medellin. Although she was doing P4P when I met her, she's not particularly interested in it. She'll do it when she has to, but she tries to avoid being in that situation. She's 22, ambitious and has no kids. She's also reasonably well educated and comes from a middle class family.

I've been looking forward to seeing her again, not just because she has the perfect look for me, but because we can have an actual conversation about real things.

This afternoon she hit me up. She made it back, has settled in and wanted to do something. I'd been having a lazy day and was happy for the incentive to get off my ass and do something, even though sex was off the table because of her period. Instead I invited her to a movie.

We met at Los Molinos mall, had some coffee and chatted for about 3 hours. I paid for coffee, movie and snacks, but she didn't ask for anything else. It turned into a 5 hour platonic date after which I had the taxi drop her off before taking me back to the apartment. Counting the taxi I spent about 90 k.

I could have found other ways to entertain myself, but sometimes I would rather do something different.

But I did ignore the stay at the M and all will be solved advise and with any less spanish or less research or less advise form the few who did provide I would have had an inferior experience.

Some of us try. I'll answer any question to the best of my ability, except for "can you give me her contact info." I even go to the trouble of trying other things, just to have the experience. As an example, I spent 2 nights at the Mansion just to understand what type of monger it's best suited for.

I'm also not a one size fits all guy. That's why I ask questions. How's your Spanish? What are your priorities? What environments are you comfortable with? I can't make much of a recommendation without some information.

My hope is that everyone who visits has a great and safe time.

By going there to inquire is how you are going to get the best deal. I have a buddy that stays at the Nutibara and pays like $250/month, but you are not going to see that online. You will see that by walking over and asking in person. Same as someone said to get a local number and send messages from that and chicks will give you a lower price than if you send messages from a foreign number.

I am just a person that does not like to reinvent the wheel. You said that you read so much then you go off and stay at a place that nobody has mentioned. That gave me a chuckle and that is why I quoted it and somewhat mocked you for it. It reminded me of my brother. Whenever he has gone somewhere new and I have told him exactly where to stay, somehow he always ends up at a place across town that nobody has mentioned that is way far from the action. When I go somewhere new I will get on here and read and ask other board members where I should be staying. My first time to Medellin I waited until a buddy of mine (who lives there now) that already knew the ropes was going too. I did not have to figure anything out. All I had to do was follow him. That is how I learned of all the $10, $13, $15 hotels and all the casas and bars and strip clubs all around downtown. It would have given me a headache trying to figure all of that stuff out on my own. Had he started me out in Poblado, then maybe I would have been one of the Poblado guys.

FB chicks, I have done that as well, but I want to forget, the real events, those I remember for life!
It appears that Teatro Metropolitano has no performances scheduled during my planned visit, though it was a great suggestion for an upscale date. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

    Strip Club Question

By the way, do they mind if you whip out a video camera in the strip clubs and film the action. Vacation memories kind of thing?

    *Joking.

Thanks for the post. It is a very good report with positive energy. I see your knowledge and maturity in the report. Have fun in Medellin.

Been visiting Medellin for 14+ years, but never lived there.

Married to Colombiana from Bogota for 9 years. Now divorced.

53 YO gringo. Spanish is functional, but not fluent.

Used to stay in Poblado. Now stay in Laureles.

While I often try to tell myself that I'm going to try the casas again, go to Veracruz, or go to Centro strip clubs, I always end up doing the same. I see a mix of regulars and new FB girls and have ventured into the non-pro arena. I could save money by going to casas, but I typically pay FB girls 150 K and taxi one way. Non-pros are not guaranteed sex, but I've had fun with some, even without banging them. My trips are not solely about sex, but enjoying myself.

At any rate, nothing earth-shattering to say about most of my sessions. I don't think any were bad. Some were great. The best one is from a girl who is average looking and skinny. But she's into it. Loves to suck her own tits and squirt the milk out of her mouth back onto her chest. Tried anal for the first time and I was happy to oblige. I don't do it often, but she likes ass play, so I knew she'd like anal after the initial pain subsided.

At any rate, on my last night I had a date with a non-pro. She has a normal job and we never talked about sex or money. We decided to go to a place I like in Aranjuez for some cocktails and shots. She asked me to pick her up (instead of her coming to me), which tells you this was more like a normal date. She lives in Villa Hermosa. So I took off in the taxi. Went through a bunch of barrios I did not know. Some of it was a little scary and I was beginning to wonder if I had made a mistake. One street something big was on fire. Passed by a couple of working girls on the corner. Both of them looked pretty hot. If I didn't have a date, I might have gotten the taxi drive to stop so I could talk to one of them.

Fortunately, when I finally got to her neighborhood in Villa Hermoso, things improved. Her house was on a nice, quiet and clean street in a nice neighborhood. She came out of the house and off we went.

Got to Aranjuez and went in. The place is not big and it was not crowded. There is a new bar right next door and it was rockin'. But I wanted to stay where we were. Good music. Combo of ranchero, villenato, salsa, etc. Good cocktails. And we could talk with some privacy. Had a nice conversation with her, although I had to work hard because she talked fast and her Spanish was not as clear as I have heard. But very sweet girl. As we drank, she loosened up. She was drinking margaritas and ordered some shots in between. She eventually warmed up a lot, much to my enjoyment. Lots of kisses and hugs and authorized touching. Fun sharing a bom-bom-bon (lollipop).

Unfortunately, it turns out that she does not often drink a lot, so toward the end of the night, she threw up. No big deal. We got in the taxi and I was going to take her home, but after about 5 minutes she told the taxitas to instead go to my apartment. We slept together, but did not have sex. Which was fine. I had a good evening. And I know that respectable Colombian women never sleep with a guy on the first date.

The point to all of this is to say that there is a lot of fun to be had in the barrios. I am not suggesting this to newbies or to anyone who knows no Spanish. But it's nice to be somewhere where you are not in the presence of a bunch of loud, drunk gringos. People are nice to me. They do not bother me. I never felt any threat (of course, I get out of the taxi and go into the bar and then leave in a taxi. I do not walk the streets). I always go with a chica, so not trolling the bars alone. It is real Colombia. Not Lleras. Give it a try.

And by the way, the total bill was 103 mil. That included 8 cocktails and 6 shots. And the waitress was hot. Good times.

Hi Tall Man. I have read and enjoyed your posts.

    I am here 10 days.

I also ask you look at Mr Ent posts. He criticized me for paying $35 (Weekend prices) and said he pays $15 a night for hotels and recommended Hotel Nutibara, I see Nutibara online for $31 and up for tomorrow.

I am not trying to create a flame war, but sometimes it feels like the El Centro crew likes to mock those who don't want to stay in a dangerous, grimey area with subpar chicas.

I just think there should be a greater level of honesty and less mocking of people who come here for vacation and don't want to go through the sewer. I complain about the hotel and I am told of course it's not the Marriott. I don't stay at Marriotts, ever, I do budget vacations. I live in Brooklyn and I watched an attempted purse snatching last week from my apartment window that involved an older woman being flung to the ground by a 20 something punk.

If you are in town I will gladly buy you a couple drinks as payback for all your amazing posts!

    Cheers. Krypto Knight.
