Really find the prices in PP to be shocking. Used to go a lot in the early 00's. ST was between 5 and 10 USD and LT was 20. And most of the gals were white skinned Viets as well.

You can still find 40 short time and 60 long time if you're willing to negotiate.

Indeed, shocking compared to 15 years ago. But I also get sticker shock in BKK when compared to 15 years ago. LOL Viets seem to be relatively rare today in PP compared to yesteryear. Many were sent packing back home by the authorities. You see some wild prices quoted here. But I think they are more anecdotal than what is actually negotiated (except as paid by monied Asian punters on a biz trip). For the last 2-3 years, I've consistently scored ST for $30 and LT for $60-$70. Granted, none were Miss Universe, but none were dogs either. And service was as advertised.

Great pics, great report! Looks like Xanadu has lifted its game and staff quality since I was last there, can spot a number of very doable tight young things in your pics from that bar. Don't remember it being very good but your pictures prove otherwise but also prove my thoughts that the staff turnover in these bars is so great that after 2 or 3 months things can change dramatically! Looking forward to my next trip to PP even more after this post and pics.

I was there in May. I can confirm the relative quality of the offerings. When I and my wingman sat down, we weren't greeted by a flash mob. The two girls we invited to sit with us weren't pushy or thirsty. Nursed their drinks at a leisurely pace. I'm guessing that there were 12-15 girls in the joint at the time. 80% doable.

Sweetie Bar gets little attention. However, the average age of the hostesses seemed to be about 21. And, yes, there were some cute ones there you could call "sweeties". LOL.

Don't remember it being very good but your pictures prove otherwise but also prove my thoughts that the staff turnover in these bars is so great that after 2 or 3 months things can change dramatically! Yeah, they have some new faces and tight ones. Some of the other bars has also step up.

Especially in st 108 and st 118.

Night live.

Basically, st 136 is still bustling with the bars and plenty of bargirls. Some more vocal than others.

136 best bars I would say is.

136 corner bar. Has a 2nd floor with KTV rooms. Live dancing sexy dance shows. Plenty of beautiful ladies.

Xanadu bar.

Spiderman bar.

Hello sweet bar.

Generally has the cute looking ones.

To avoid.

Candy bar. Tends to rip you off.

St 5.

A great night bar.

Angels bar.

Basically, LD is about 3.75.

Short time is from 50-60.

Long time is 100.

There are also walkers near the what Phnom area, but caution they can be a bit of a risky choice. Bar girls tend to be safer.

Clubs.

Pontoon.

Darling Darling.

Club love.

Filling station (Filipina) a bit on the expensive side.

You can find girls freelancing and yes ladyboys as well so you got to keep your eyes peeled.

Social escorts.

No many of these on Phnom Penh, but there is one that I think is safe and worth the try.

I did and I must say they are pretty top notch and discreet.

Deals mostly local and Filipina and the occasional Thai and Vietnamese.

They have a facebook page too and a neat booking system.

I think their girls can be taken out long term as well in case you fancy them and would them to follow you around on your travels or trips.

What is the Khmer word (s) for these establishments or areas? Is "chicken farm" literally just called or "ksedthan chenhchum mean" (a direct translation of chicken farm)? Or do you just go up to tuk tuk drivers and ask them "where are the prostitutes?

Khmer use the word "moaan" for "chicken" so it might be the word "mean" in your direct translation but I don't know how they say "farm". Don't even know if they use something as "chicken farm".

You could say " where are the cheap prostitutes?" by saying "srey nii man tlaay neu aye nah?

Mostly you get accosted by these guys. In Siem reab, it has happened multiple times to me. In pub street and areas around, you get asked "Sir, you want lady? In Phnom Penh, they are even worse "Want lady? Small little lady? I never entertain these people and would never recommend as well. In Phnom Penh, I had a tuk tuk guy who took me around to killing fields, museum and local city tour. He was a decent guy and we talked on various things during the trip and slowly I asked him about local girls and girly bar during casual drink. He then told about the what Phnom massage bars and girls around what Phnom etc. He said he could get me girls but I declined politely. He even tried to set me up with young cute waitress I was eyeing in the restaurant. Same was the experience in Colombo and Yangon. Sometimes these guys can be your wingman.

In short,

1) There are guys who accost you for women. Never entertain them.

2) Befriend a local guy (not just for this purpose) and ask him casually.

And never ask a random stranger "Where are the prostitutes". Many would get offended that the foreigner does not have respect for local women and culture. Lot of people consider the hobby immoral.

I'm in Kampot right now.

I didn't see any SWs in the Durian Roundabout, just locals lounging about at night.

I also took a motorbike and cruised everywhere. I couldn't identify any particular place with working girls, like cafes or shacks where scantily-dressed girls wait around. Nothing that would indicate a red light area like neon lights or posters of hot girls. All I saw were a few KTVs with a lineup of girls sitting together in the lobby, but doing karaoke just to get laid is the last thing I want to do.

I did see one or two white older expats with sexy-looking Cambodian women though just walking around town.

A lot has changed in Kampot. I don't know when you have seen FL walking around at Durian Roundabout. I have been in Kampot many times and never seen one. No, the big change is all the girlie-bars. Now Kampot have more 12. Easy, easy.

I would say it's been about 3.5 years since I was in Kampot. I stayed at the Rikitiki Hotel which wasn't far. Had a motorbike rental, passed the roundabout and saw 3-4 girls milling about. I will take your word that things have changed.

I've posted a lot in the Thai and Indo forums (you can take a look at my contributions by clicking on my username), but haven't contributed here at all (despite about 15 trips to Phnom Penh over the last decade). Just thought I'd mention that I'll be arriving tomorrow (today -- July 25) afternoon with my brother for four nights. We'll be staying at the Lux on 136 and we're both up for hitting up the regular spots -- Tokyo, Xanadu, Cyrcee, the 104 list, etc -- just wondering if anyone is up for meeting a couple of Canadian lads with a few days and cash to burn and similar hobbies. If you've got anything more 'exotic' to share, I'm all ears. I don't currently have PM abilities, but I'm sure we can work something out as I'll be checking this lovely forum frequently.
