Last night I had a good walk though Soho using Google Street view as I'm visiting London in a couple weeks and I didn't find ANY open doors or signs on doors. Berwick st, Greek st. Nothing.

Are they closed for good or do they open at certain hours?

70 a Berwick St is open until about 6/7 pm. There is a walkup on the corner of Greek St / Bateman Street. It's a little door by the vintage clothing shop. You are right. The girls advertise on multiple sites. The agencies are just referers to private individuals. Anything else would be illegal in England. Don't bother shopping. The girls prices are consistent except for some lame fringe agency that might mark them up.

The way the girls and agencies work in the UK is a direct consequence of the law. Unlike many countries paying for sex and being paid for sex is legal. However managing or owning a brothel and pimping are illegal. The agencies therefore are just providing advertising, publicity and booking services for the girls. If all the girls in an agency are exclusive to that agency the agency is more at risk of prosecution for pimping so they prefer them to advertise with a few and keep at least some legal distinction between the agencies. Obviously however they share photo shoot services etc.

It's actually a well thought through law for a change. The girls get the services of the agency plus some protection. If they are assaulted or attacked the agency has at least a record of phone number etc of the client to pas to the police. At the same time it reduces the risk of people trafficking somewhat. Much better than the laws in most countries for both the girls and their clients.
