As long as you don't wear a tank top, shorts or sandals, you are fine. I always wear jeans and tennis shoes. Most times I wear a long sleeve shirt with a collar, but I have worn t-shirts there. It's places like DragonFly that don't allow t-shirts. I wouldn't wear one of those black or white "undershirt" type of t-shirts that are so popular, those might not get you in.

Blok M has been taken over my Africans.

D's place and My Bar were still ok when I was there recently.

But the taxi drivers agree with you. I have known those taxi drivers for years. I took a taxi from there last week and asked the driver how business was at Blok M and the guy said "Blok M no good now because of Obama Bar and all the black guys. The black guys always fighting and bad people. " I hadn't seen evidence of that, but I take him for his word since he's there every night.

BATS and CJs are over rated with Yank cover bands for music that get really annoying really quickly. I wait for the dance music inbetween.

Looks like fun. I don't like that the guy entitled his video "one of the most dangerous places in Jakarta". I can't think of a safer city in the world than Jakarta. It's a down market area for sure, but I wouldn't feel unsafe at all walking around that area.

Totally agree, and in this country, a smile wins over anyone.

Be confident, smile a lot, try and have a laugh or two.

Both the men and the women in these places seriously encourage our activity. They seem proud to show off their Indonesian women and delight in the fact that us Westerners want to screw them.
