You can avoid this is by asking her these questions during the interview process. Tell her that you will pay her after you are finished. If she says no, then move onto another girl. You will have wasted $10, but that is better than spending $80 for a 15 minute session.

Luckily, so far I have never gotten into an argument with a girl upstairs. A big reason is because I have been following the advice of more senior mongers who post on this thread. They have listed countless tips and tidbits of advice to make your experience in HK better and lessen your chance of getting suckered.

I headed out to HK later than I would have liked. I had spent the day renting a bicycle and riding to La Jolla. The scenery, temperature, and skyline were all amazing. I estimate I biked around 10 miles in total. The biking, along with the fact that I only got 3 hours of sleep the previous night, meant that I needed to take a nap before going to HK. I tried sleeping but was only able to fall asleep for 30 minutes as I was anticipating what would happen later on in the night. I was also thinking about an idea I had this morning, which was to bring some 420 edibles across the border with me to enjoy HK. So instead of drinking, I would take an edible or two and be good for the night. After some debate about the cost / benefits of my decision, I decided to do it.

I left my place around 7 PM and took an Uber to the Trolley Station, where I took the blue line to the last stop, San Ysidro. From there, I went through border security, then walked down the path and took a taxi to HK. I arrived, and headed up the stairs to the Hotel Cascadas Reception desk. Because I had stayed the previous night, I was able to get the same room. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room had been cleaned when I opened the door..

Yes, the VIP discount applies to all nights, in your case 20% / 80% / 20%. And yes, the discount applies to the suites. It's well worth it to get the Jacuzzi suite on Mon / Tues.

As for other perks, sure. You will have more than paid for your card after your hotel stay. But, yes, you get a free beer (or your drink of choice) every 12 hours, free transport to and from border, lap dance discounts (if that's your thing). For me, the hotel discount and free beers make it worth it.

Planning another trip down to Tijuana with the boys. Planning on staying at HK 3 nights throughout the week. (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday).

I was just curious about how exactly the VIP card works. I've looked throughout this forum but seem to have stumbled on conflicting reports, so hoping someone can clarify.

According to HK -- it's 80% off Monday and Tuesday, and 20% off rest of the week with VIP. But how long does the VIP card last? And more specifically, how many nights can I get the discount with the same card? Like, can I apply the discount to 3 nights? (In this case save 80% Monday and then another 20% for each of Sunday and Wednesday).

That would be essentially save me 48 bucks on Monday, and then another 12 for Sunday and Wednesday. Essentially save more than it costs.

I haven't bothered asking every time I've gone, but I keep seeing people talk about the card, so was just curious exactly how long it's good for and how many nights you can apply the hotel discount..
