I tried, not Schwab but many banks in Kansas City. Only place I could open a US account was in Grand Forks ND. I needed it because my US employer in Afghanistan would only make deposits directly to a US account.

Had a short 4 day trip to manila and had some free time to monger. There were some rains during the evening which made it hard. Was staying in Sheraton near the airport, staff had no problems bringing back girls to the room. Day 1 went to LA cafe. It was crowed (May be becoz of rain), decent crowd but all the stunner there where on the 1st floor where you have the live music. Alas they only are interested in Chinese or Korean guys. Avg the girls at the ground floor quoted from 1. 5 k to 3 k for ST. Most of them suggest to take their friend as well. Girls are not pushy nor they disturb you while your drinking. Only approach you when you call them over.
DAY 2 - Met a girl from pinaylove. Cute college girl who said she was par time English tutor. Came on time and she was fun, filled with energy. Stayed all night and kept me up all night as well. Paid her 6 K.
DAY 3 - Another girl from dating site. She was par time model (as per her). Showed me some modelling pics as well. Nice ass but only allowed fingering. No anal. Long hair which was nice. Paid her 7 K + VT bombshell perfume she had requested.
DAY 4 - Had a plan to meet another one from a dating site but she was not able to make it, so tried various go go bars. Lot of girls there on avg they were asking for 3. 5 to 4 k ST and there was entrance fee around 300 to 500 peso, and lady drink around 750 peso.
DT.

For a normal HSBC account (not Premier) the minimum monthly balance is PHP 100 k BPI BDO Metro much easier.

However you can obtain Premier in one country and get it in all other countries as well.

ME: You are probably right. I opened mine several years ago, online was probably available. I just followed the steps given to me in PM here at the time, did it all by mailing the multi-page application. Have linked that account to my regular bank account for xfers. Works beautifully. While BDO is in many places, the Schwab card works anywhere the Visa symbol is displayed, no need to find any given bank's machine.

So I went to the website and opened a brokerage account for her. I think I only transfered $1 (might have been $500 that she would use during her trip. Can't remember) from her local bank. When that was approved I went online and opened the investor checking account. I linked it to her local bank account. They sent like 1 cent and 2 cents between the accounts to verify them, then they automatically sent the ATM card. The entire process took less than 1 week.

1) A Schwab trading account (stocks, securities), with a minimum of $200 deposited.
2) A Schwab checking account (hence the ATM card). I load up the checking account and not only use the Schwab ATM card overseas, I have come to use it everywhere, as I know that any machine that hits me with any fee will be rebated back at the end of the month (even machines in my home country).
