There are a few money changers after JJ Supermarket away from Walking Street. They offer almost the same rate, may be a difference of less than a peso on one US $. There is also one near the Kebab House on Walking Street towards MC Donald but on the opposite side. Here, the key word is alert. You must just be alert.

I arrive in trike, change money, and exit in same trike parked close to where I am standing 3. I give armed security guard at security a small tip every time, that is, he knows me. I get trike driver at same 'depot' and give him a small tip every time. Any crim observing me can see I have harmonious relations with all around me, and thus most probably support, if anything should happen. Not a soft target.

No walking to / from money changer on my own.

One such guy at same money changer, and yes Norma"s, walked to Norma's on his own, got his money and walked away, only to be shot in the back of the head and robbed, some distance away. Guy saved small tips and trike fee, and paid for it with his life.

Never heard of a complaint of any shops other than exchange rates. Once in a while a clerk might short change you whether by mistake or intentionally. Always count your money before you leave.

Best to change your money during daytime hours and while sober. Never flash large amounts of money. In PH large amounts would be 10 k or more. I never show more than 5 k in a wad. I use multiple pockets with 5 k each.

Contrary to the idea Koreans are free big spenders there are many Korean kuripot in private. They may put on a big lavish show in public but are pretty cheap and abusive in private.

Agree as some of the girls I know who go with them purely for the money (as pay well for to take girls to resorts) said when they ask about being the GF they will only give small (ish) allowances.

Two I know with sponsors do play on the side as need extra cash. Simple really.

From his response to my question I think his moral sensibilities caused him to lose out. I would have looked at it as they weren't married and the Korean bloke probably has tons of other girls in the Philippines and out and I would actually augment the meager salary he was giving her.

She is not receiving a salary of 8,000 a month. It is likely to be much much more. Mistresses with time on their hands burn through cash. They develop expensive alcohol, drug and gambling habits.
