Well this is my 5th trip to Pattaya. I usually stay 2-3 weeks at a time. Although I believe in your observation partly, I think it is getting harder to find the gold. IMHO, there is gold in them darn hills of Pattaya! There is 10's of thousands of ladies here to make money. First, Beach road is hot and cold and takes a lot more time and patience. For me, I am very picky, and walk some distance up and down and usually find a diamond in rough 50-60% of time. Years ago it used to be "how much you give", I would offer low and she would counter and I would agree and we were off to my hotel. She would feel in control but performance was hit or miss. The beer bar ladies I feel has gone downhill and gotten older and it takes too much scouting and drinking to score for my laziness. I experience a lot cute faces screaming at me to come and have a beer and once I come over to see the layers of make up or the big ass that has been hidden behind the counter, well I never had much luck with beer bar take out. Then there is the Go Go's. They have gotten pretty pricey. Drinks and bar fines are up and the ladies are firm and demand top money. No rhyme or reason to it, perhaps many factors come to play in her perceived value. Maybe how successful she has been, or how hungry she is, or what new dress she wants, or probably more times than not, how old, fat and ugly the customer is. But, if you are willing to spend what takes, you are always assured of a good time. None of these ladies want you to go back to mamasan and complain about a starfish! They will be young eye candy of your taste. I have been told there is 100 Go Go's on Walking Street. Don't know how many but every time I come for visit there is dozens of renamed or brand new clubs. This trip I was amazed at the selection at the Pin Up AGoGo a couple nights ago. My gal told me there was over a 100 ladies there that night. I would do 95% of them at it was very difficult picking one. I never experienced such a dilemma in all my past trips. They are there and plentiful, but maybe it takes a little more money and effort than years past. Good Luck hunting!

Posts: 3003Well I'm having a lovely holiday here in Pattaya but not of the sex tourist kind. Either I have become far too damned picky (a possibility) or the quality of the available wenches has so far declined that even if I wasn't so choosy, I would still find it hard to find anything what wasn't in the bagger or even worse, the dreaded double bagger category. And I'll be fucked if I will pay for a walking horror story.
For example, yesterday I went to Devils Den in Soi LK Metro. In the past I have taken outcalls from there on the photographic evidence on their website and not been displeased with the girl or girls who turned up at my door. But a bad experience the last time that I booked an imp sight unseen, has decided me that it is better to err on the side of caution, particularly when you are considering taking a brace, by visiting first. And lucky that I did. Devils Den have seldom had many Thai beauties on their books but things have never been as desperate as it appears to be now. The line-up was numerically sound with about 8 girls available but I'm afraid that there was not a one amongst them that I particularly wanted to spend my precious time and money with. Don't get me wrong. They are probably all lovely girls but a MILF in her thirties is not what I have on my shopping list right now. I left disappointed.
And where are my favourite fallbacks, the African girls working on a visa? Don't tell me, immigration have had a visa clamp down recently. I've seen one since I got here (and none in Bangkok) and she looked scared of her own shadow.
It's no wonder that the bars are empty and must be really feeling the squeeze. It's peak season one would think, but I visited the Windmill last night and whereas in the past I would be fighting to get a seat, now I had the choice of many. When the Windmill is hurting, many other bars must be terminal. I popped into Happy which used to have some really hot dancers but I appeared to be the only customer (admittedly is was quite early) and the girls dancing listlessly on the stage were not a patch on its former glory.
So is Pattaya as a sex tourist destination, in terminal decline? There seems to be no shortage of normal tourists such as the Chinese and other East Asians. And there are plenty of Russian and of course the much maligned Indians who largely seem to do there own thing. And loads of Western retirees although I suspect that most do not have a great deal of disposable income so they tend to gravitate to cheaper bars of the bring your own, al fresco, Beach Road Coconut variety.
So the template for the future of the place is anyone's guess. Maybe sex industry businesses will struggle along more or less in its present form or maybe the red light areas will become smaller and more centralised. Who knows? One thing is for sure and that is that a Pattaya without its naughty Sanuk, would be a much reduced and boring place.
I'm heading back to Soi 6 for an afternoon visit to see if I can find a nice, bad girl, preferably one that does not squawk like a Isaan chicken being strangled!

I've also heard that Kinnaree the land had sold to a developer? Haven't been up there since the news or rumor to confirm if it is true and whether he plans to move and reopen or just close and call it a day. Shame my favorite GM club!

Posts: 6304Anyone been to The Mews G club that opened last week? It's walking distance from Kinnaree and open until 10 pm so a good place to hit after Kinnaree closes.

Dr Who last season sucked, terrible, episodes made no sense and too many side kicks. After watching two episodes of this season, the writing looks improved.

Posts: 3003Pattaya seem to have increasingly become the holiday resort of choice for single male Indian tourists. I'm not racist and dislike racial stereotypes but I'm not surprised that many girls refuse to have anything to do with them. They seem to hunt in packs and, when they find a possible target, are not averse to crowding her as the group in the photo are doing. I suppose those usually older, thicker and less pretty girls who are forced, of necessity to deal with these no doubt sex starved and horny young men, are used to it but it's not an attractive spectacle to see.
And are they negotiating a discount rate for the team and are the four guys pictured really going to take turns on the girl or three of them fill the available slots and one man stand by as reserve? Or are they just negotiating for one of the party. I'm really interested to know.
One good thing about the invasion of the Indian hordes is that the number of Indian restaurants have quadrupled since my not so long ago last visit. Once upon a time I recall making a hot, sweaty trip on city buses with moaning girlfriend in tow from Sukhumvit to the Royal India Restaurant down Chakkraphet Road near Chinatown in Bangkok. It was the only way that I was able to get some decent Indian chow, being virtually the only Indian cafe in town at the time and there were none at all in Pattaya.

Many years ago, I took my old man on an overnight ride on a Thai bus, and he commented how the quiet cooing of two Issan women in front of us was lovely, nicer than any other language he heard. He had no idea what language it was or what they were saying, and certainly no preconceived notions about Asian languages (those often get in the way of our judgements). It was the Issan dialect, presumably of Nong Khai variety. I imagine a drunken Soi 6 working girl at full volume speaking Issan would be far less endearing.

Growing up travel with my dad and uncles into the village or whenever friends, the family came over the house, your blood pressure would go up to double, ears ringing, just from a simple conversation. When I finally met my Thai wife's family Sukhothai they must have some Haka in them I thought I was visiting my own family. I hook up once with my older brother who was up at the Mae Sai mountain area living with a group many of older ones spoke some Haka after a bottle it was like back home.
The louder the better, it makes me at ease and feels I'm back home with family.
