Baileys is top of the chart because it is consistency. Their pizza is my personal favorite follwed by their sea bass. Sinatras was a good option but I think he is under financial stress and the quality of product has slipped. He is looking for a partner never a good thing. Flip Flop is good a option for a quicky. I have not fouund anything on the beach that I trust. For me sanititaion is a issue. Hand washing, keeping produce stable are concerns. The beach could have a renasaiance with day time action moving there. There is nowhere else to go for day time fun but the beach. When the girls figure that out it could be a big time win for everyone.

IMO, a lot of these restaurants make a killing with the cost of beverages. So if one is inclined to do so, they can bring their own ice cold soft drinks or booze. Or they can buy at least one beverage from the establishment, and supplement with their own.
Aris has his own seating inside and just outside of his place. But if you want to set up on the sand (near the walk path , so one can see the chicks nearby ) he'll set up a table over there. Aris's crew or him personally can provide your service, or any of the lounge chair guys will offer you service to Aris restaurant. They get a cut off the bill. Or just let Aris service you, you don't need the lounge chair guys. I just happen to know a few of them, so I let one of them serve me (sometimes) and tip them.

Posts: 118I like Bailey's for certain foods. That goes for a lot of restaurants in Sosua. Everyone has their favorites for whatever reason and there are a lot of them to choose from. Explore and make your own conclusions.

I am told there is a place beyond cabarete, where they have a fish tank and live fish to serve but I have never been there. May be next time, but it is far. In the meantime, it is good to know the beachside Sosua places that you listed, I presume all of them have fish?

Unfortunately for me, the taste of their cooked fish does not appeal to my taste. I feel the same way about going to Maimon for fish. The fish they have indeed has great prices. But in my opinion and experience they don't taste the same cooked, like several restaurants I go to on Sosua beach. Also, I tend to like the option of having yellow rice (with beans if you want it) they serve with the fish on the beach. Whereas that restaurant across from CT I believe only serves white rice. With beans if you want it. I also like the garlic sauce I get from some of the kitchens on the beach. And the steamed veggies are available. Not just salad.
My favorites on the beach are Aris Restaurant #67, Mofongo King #74, Jorge Mayra Rest #64 , Fast Freddies #164 Bear in mind. Jorge / Mayra, Mofongo King, and Fast Freddies have their own kitchens. Whereas Aris, Joselito's Restaurants and a few others, share a kitchen that is located in the alley behind Aris Restaurant.

Always a heavy heart when leaving. Lost count of how many chicas I had. Most performed great. Only one sub par. Young haitian who was new to the game. Ehnvee does an excellent job of hosting. It gives you everything rumbas and classicos did but at a better venue. I like the new set up. Pedro clisante has a better look. I saw families walking the streets in the evenings. First in 9 years. The small bars that catered to europeans seemed to be doing much better. Ehnvees location and facilities work. IMHO the mayor has it right.
We can coexist. I loved classicos but it was hurting the towns image.
I was at super pola yesterday and witnessed a mother with 2 small children trying avoid a pro doing the walk of shame in black see threw spandex. I feel bad for business owners who were shut down but their time has run its course. A portion of sosua could not enjoy thier town due to the large numbers that flooded the streets. The current venues are fine. I think everyone is benefiting except the closed clubs but I can live with that.

I've eaten at Bailee's twice. Once was the 1 lb lobster dinner about 1,750 pesos. The other was a seafood mix plate at about 1,100 pesos. Both were good but lobster is just too damn expensive for me. Their service was slow both nights and their salad bar is a joke. I ate a 1 lb fried red snapper at Flip Flops. It was as good or better and was 1,000 pesos. Service was good at Flips but the food took a pretty long time considering I was the only one eating that night. Thanks for the info on fresh fresh. I haven't had that problem but you never know and it's always good to check. They have another fresh fresh outlet in Cabarete and I've had good service there the couple of times I've gone. Another place worth checking in Cabarete is Mojito bar on the beach.

They see us used to being engaged eating and talking, not always paying attention to our change when it comes back. Sometimes forgetting it entirely.
Anything they do to shortchange you, they can just act like it was an honest mistake. The sincere act is very phony. They are willing to take that risk. It's a common practice. Always check your change, they can shortchange you 20 pesos to up to 1000 pesos. Every little bit they hustle supplements their pockets / purses. It aint theft to them. It's just business. If you don't check your change, the loss is on you.

I ate dinner at Bailees. It has a more upscale vibe. The food was good but on the higher end price for seafood. The service was slow. Also ate at a place called fresh fresh. It's east of Germany restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was good. Had an omelette for breakfast and a fish (dorado) sandwich for lunch.

I was there a few times in the past week, and even there I noticed the diversity. Haitians and Dominicans working together. A decent but not perfect wait staff. I do think the staff gets a little more in house training than what is common. A diverse crowd patronizes Mr Flip Flop on the regular. Food and service is good. Nobody there is disgusted by who is sitting next to them. Unless they are rooting for an opposing team. LOL. Again, Mr Flip Flop is a great host (like Sherman at The Tree House) that makes sure his customers are taken care of.
Some people take what Sosua has to offer for granted. But can you imagine spending all your time at resort being treated like cattle? Having to go to their restaurants on a schedule. Whereas in Sosua you can wine and dine all over the town and vicinity, or even buy your own groceries and cook your food.
