You're a very short walk from Nana Plaza and the FL's on Soi 4 so no one from these areas should have an issue. Soi 7/1 and Nana BTS are nearby too. Soi Cowboy and Thermae are not so bad by car to the hotel but getting back can be an issue. I can see some Thermae girls balking that you are staying so far away. However, if they like you or are desperate they will have no issues going.

Appreciate the response. I don't know what an FL is that you mentioned about Soi 4. My understanding is that Soi Cowboy is the big area where most of the stuff is? It doesn't appear too far from the action areas, but I've read that sometimes girls can be very picky about how far away your hotel is from their bar if you're picking someone for ST.

I wouldn't worry about making a washing machine a requirement. There is bound to be an inexpensive laundromat fairly near any hotel you stay at.

I would ordinarily have booked the Conrad, just for the status benefits, despite the reservations about its location. But in the end I found a killer deal for the Landmark. So it's back to my regular digs, at least for this upcoming trip. There are some good hotel deals to be had right now, perhaps virus-inspired.

I too found super deals at the Landmark recently. One for 6 days before NYE & another one this last weekend. Great value and location. Always attempt to upgrade to the corner premium room at the reception. If you are nice to them manager always agree. The larger room came in handy last Friday. Had BFed a cutie from Nana Plaza, then after hanky panky took her to Levels where we met up with a couple of other ladies at our table & all 4 of us came back to the landmark. I was really sozzled with many a whiskey but what the heck it was my last days in LOS for a long while I think. Just remember a lot of pounding but one by one as rarely they join in together it seems. Cost me a bunch but hey life is short and as they say only Bond lives twice.

Appreciate the time to read this.

I'm going to Thailand for the first time in late February for two weeks. I'd like a good quality hotel with nice rooms and I stumbled onto this site https://www.gfriendlyhotels.com/gues...otels-bangkok/#Nana_Soi_Cowboy which listed the Phachara Suites as their most booked guest friendly hotel.

I'm new to all of this so I really have no idea looking at where it's located if it's in a good location or not, even looking at the map it's hard to tell. It doesn't appear too far from the action areas, but I've read that sometimes girls can be very picky about how far away your hotel is from their bar if you're picking someone for ST.

I'm not necessarily looking for the best bargain in the world. I have the money to spend on a good place (although nobody wants to just throw money away). My main goals are a nice spacious room, guest friendly, washer and dryer so I can pack lighter, hopefully walking distance from the fun places. I'd appreciate any advice on whether or not I'm thinking about this properly.

I'm planning my return to LOS, and I had hoped to stay at the Majestic Grande. I had a hankering for their amazing lunchtime buffet, but dammit, looks like I have been thwarted by American corporate imperialism in the form of the DoubleTree. Actually, I have status with Hilton, so this would work fine for me, but does anyone have any up-to-date intel on this hotel? All I could find on the post-Hilton version of the hotel was this from MrKim:

I stayed a few nights here back in November. Never saw the Majestic Grande pre-Hilton so I can't compare but it was completely adequate. Breakfast was okay. There is not really a bar area beyond the small one in the lobby, but I can't imagine you're planning to sit in your hotel bar the entire time. Staff were pleasant.

Pros:

- short walk to Soi 4 through the alley.

- easy to get a tuk tuk nearby.

- quiet street.

- comfortable room and Hilton points at a low price.

Cons:

- still undergoing renovation. Make sure you get a renovated room. With Hilton status that shouldn't be an issue. I do think the pool is closed right now for renovation.

- Elevators are in plain sight of front desk. Not a big deal but I always feel awkward walking past everyone with my guests.

- No large bar. That said, the bartender when I was there last was great.

- not all taxi drivers know it yet. No big deal but you'll need to tell some of them soi 2 instead of the hotel name.

- not many outside food options immediately nearby. Again, no biggie but if that matters to you then it might be a drag.

I'll be in BKK next weekend and booked a balcony suite since I have enough Hilton points to cover it. I'll update again after my stay.

Yes, I stayed there about a year or so ago, just after it opened. It's very good. You will find several reviews further down.

Soi Ruam Ruedi is going to help if you are walking (to about 900 metres) but not help a taxi which can't do right hand turns into Sukhumvit and Soi 4. Perhaps a motorcycle can sneak through the walking route too, depending on police.

Being an Escort man, I guess you are not going to Nana Plaza much. I also don't go there much, but find coming from the opposite direction a little easier and don't use taxis in Soi 4.

Definitely, the ride back is a lot easier. I've done the walk a few times and it is ok. Also, the Ploenchit BTS station is right at the beginning of Soi Ruam Ruedi. So, a motorbike or taxi to the BTS and then you can go anywhere.

Time is a relative term, but if you are impatient going from the Conrad to NEP try catching the taxi or motorbike in Soi Ruam Ruedi, which you can access through the shopping which is next door to the Conrad.

I stayed at the Conrad one time during their grand soft opening promo period. It is a quality hotel. I remember their buffet breakfasts were varied and very good. My rooms was relatively large, modern and well appointed like many other competing hotels in it's class. But I was not fond of the location primarily because after midnight the neighborhood is dead as a doornail.

That's why I prefer the Intercontinental or the Grand Hyatt when I choose to stay in this neck of the woods. At least with those two you have Mixx and Spasso in really close proximity for late night entertainment especially Thurs thru Sat night. But except for the 24 hour McDonalds on the corner and a 24 hour grocery store nearby there is nowhere to go for a late supper. That said, the main reason I stay around Chit Lom for 4 or 5 nights every trip, beside the fact that I have hotels vouchers and points to apply for free nights, is to have ready access to Patpong.

From the Intercontinental or Grand Hyatt I can either take a taxi, if I am in a hurry, or walk to Ratchadamri BTS to go to Patpong or I can catch the Sukhumvit line at Chit Lom BTS to go to Nana. Returning from Patpong with a girl in a taxi is not a problem and takes no more than 7 or 8 minutes and 60 to 80 baht as long as you do not get into a waiting taxi on Silom or Surawong. Same Same for taking taxi from Patpong back to the Conrad. It is equally easy to do plus going to and from Nana from the Conrad is even easier. You could actually walk to Nana if you are not in a hurry, but catching the BTS from Phloen Chit station is your best bet. Then a taxi back from Nana to the Conrad with a girl is a straight shot and very fast. So again, my only gripe with the Conrad is its quiet, very quiet neighborhood after midnight and the lack of late night nearby restaurants and bars. If that is not a negative for you then you will like your stay at the Conrad.

Incidentally, a friend of mine always stays at the Athenee Hotel which is just up the block from the Conrad. That is a a very elegant hotel, but he has a long time girlfriend. They never go to Nana or Patpong and they usually are in bed early. HA HA.
