I'm not going to waste more than a few seconds haggling on price. I pay a fair rate and make minimal demands. I recognize my bargaining position is much stronger. Fresh back from 5 days in Cartagena. I love this place. Stayed in an Air Bnb in Bocagrande. No issues bringing babes to the condo at all. Building was sweet and room was on the 36th Floor. Hit Hollywood beach during the day. At first glance, it looked totally dead. We walked closer to the water and there was at least 25 babes in bikinis hanging out. We parked it, drunk beers and mingled with the ladies. This was our routine during the day pretty much every day. Took one from the beach everyday for 200 mil. Spent happy hour in the condo with girls we met at La Dulce Vita or Space the night before. Some real stunners in these two clubs. The girls were a lot of fun. We would drink on the balcony listening to music and partying for a good while before doing the deed. Happy hour prices were 200 mil also. We then hit the clubs about 10:30 as they get really packed and you can barely move. We would get the numbers of hot chicks to line up for day time action the next day before selecting a babe for the night. Took one from Ducle Vita or Space every night. They asked for 300 mil and I forked it over as I didn't feel like haggling over 50 mil. All the babes were fun and had no problem partying, drinking, dancing around our condo before sex. It was four of us in our condo and everyone brought a babe back to party every night. We are all in our 40's by the way.

Yip, 200 mil pesos is 58 bucks! I was out last night with the fellas, I bought a round of drinks for 6 guys, 3 of them I had just met. The bill was 65 dollars and I ended up buying 2 more rounds. I understand exactly what you are saying for sure. However, I will not be talking to 20 different babes to find one for 30 bucks. More power to those who roll that way and I don't judge any man for how he does his thing with the ladies. Some guys think 200 USD is a good price! It was a good report. I think the criticism stems from the girls wanting $200 US to spend the day on the boat partying. I've never tried, it's not my thing, but I believe I can find 3 or 4 women who will be happy to split $200 for the same thing. All women I'd happily pay 200 k for a session.

As I'm sure you're aware, always shoot high. Never start at your lowest price. The girls know this too. When a girl in Medellin tells me "300", I respond with "siempre pago 200 (or 150). " That's 200 k, not dollars. I always pay (whatever price I'm willing to pay). Almost every time the immediate response is "OK. " Some will then want to add taxi fare, and I'll add time. If we can't agree, I'll suggest maybe another day and move on. Very few will let you walk away.

The locals pay 150 k for short time in the tourist areas in Cartagena. I've seen Colombian men who took a girl all night for that. Includes drinks and dancing first. Less than that for in-calls (sometimes as low as 60 k) if you go into the city. The reason the chicas in playa hollywood start at 200 k+ with you is they have to give a 50 k commission to the tout who is introducing them. In Tony's case that 50 k tends to go to the slot machines in Casino Rio in case you're wondering who you are really paying.

Your problem is that you ask for the price instead of offering it. If all you want is covered sex then all you need to do is:

* Ask her for her name and number and get her to put in your phone. They will all do this happily.

* Make some small talk.

* Offer 200 k.

* If she says no tell her you'll be in touch and send her a message in whatsapp so she remembers you.

* Guaranteed she will respond the same day for 200 k. Sometimes within minutes. Sometimes that evening.

Rinse and repeat. I've completely stopped "negotiating" because you don't need to at all. The only exception is if you're looking for a specific kink like anal etc.

I have been visiting Cartagena for a long time. When I started visiting Cartagena most people in the USA had never heard of the place, and it was rare to see another person who spoke English for the entire time I was there. It has always been a tourist place but it was a Colombian tourist place for Colombians. Since then, I do not have to say how much has changed. The fear of every monger who has history there is that too many naive gringos would go down to Colombia and take there USA economy sensibilities with them without any Colombian economy sensibility and ruin the whole thing for us. The average chica in Colombia pays for a decent apartment outside the tourist zone in an average neighborhood about the equivalent of about $150 a month, up to $250 in a upper income neighborhood. The average salary. Think nurses, teachers, and other educated professionals. Earn about $700, if you make $1000 a month in Colombia you are in the top 20% of income earners. Add all this to the fact that prostitution is legal in Colombia and that creates a huge supply (which lowers the price compared to places it is not legal) and then you might realize why you paid too much. Chicas that told you 300 K in LDV would work for 150 k, and easily go for that off the beach. Chicas that talk in "dollars" are speaking a foreign language and should be avoided like the plague. Chicas will do an all day thing for for 400 k.

Does anyone know if Elektra got reopened? What is killing centro right now is the lack of venues. I'm concerned all the action eventually moves out of the tourist areas. I don't trust safety in Cartagena enough.

I know I am guilty of joining in on the streaming conversations about ATMs and Big Asses, I apologize. Did you hear that there were plans for Elektra to reopen? I once met a fabulous chica that I had many re-encounters with over a period of few years at Elektra. I say again that I am glad you made your report and glad you got a taste of what I call paradise, it might be that if / when you start doing this on a regular basis that you realize the value of negotiating, maybe your loaded and just do not care about blowing money, but the point is that each time you pay 50% to 100% over market price it adds up on the total budget for your trip. That is the way long game mongers think. If I want to make three, four trips a year I need to keep my budget to a manageable level. Paying market price saves a couple of thousand dollars for someone that visits a few times a year. Yet the fear of a lot of mongers is still that eventually too many fat walleted gringos with no sense of Colombian economics are going to ruin the place by driving up prices for no good economical reason. When I find a chica I like I will hit her up for multiple sessions so that she makes good money from me, after the third time I have paid her rent and half her groceries for the month for the total of about 6 hours.
