Frontier Airline now flys into Santo Domingo and Santiago out of Newark. Direct flights and very good prices starting March 10th.

I've taken that same flight in the past and I hated it. The price for a taxi is 80-100 usd. Not sure if uber is available at that hour. I hated it because once I cleared the airport and drove my rental to Sosua it was 5 am and everything was quiet.
