How much does it cost to force a shut down of the wet markets in China? Global stock markets lost nearly 20 trillion dollars due to the virus and unmitigated damage to global economies too. If even a small fraction of that could be directed to invent, bully, cajole, bribe a shutdown of those infernal markets, it will be money well spent.

    Humor!

I've been reading posts about the effects of the spread of the coronavirus all around the mongering world. And I see mongers starting to argue, fuss, and fight in many of these threads. How about we all take a step back, take a deep breath for a few seconds, and try to keep our heads on straight and level? Let's calm down and let cooler heads prevail my fellow mongers.

Informative video, looks legit. I tried to post it earlier, but for some unknown reason, the admin didn't allow it. Anyway, thanks for informing others. BTW, is this information correct: From April 12,2009 to April 10,2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1 N1) pdm09 virus.

I would say commuting trains are most dangerous, much more people in small enclosed place than almost any other places, but some nations began doing the remote work.

You can change the flight as late as up to 2 hours before your original flight departure. You should have called Expedia to do that since you didn't book directly through the airline. Ok, even if you have to pay an administrative fee and the fare difference, it's still better than losing 800.

Regarding to losing 10 nights of hotel stay, you couldn't at least get a refund for 9 days? Seriously! For most hotel reservation, you will definitely lose your first day if you don't show up. You should still get the refund for the remaining days. No? I bet you probably prepaid your hotel in advance. Right? I would never prepaid hotel when I go on a mongering trip.
I tried rebooking but nothing worked. 2. 5 hours waiting time on the phone with expedia customer service. After a few seconds the woman put me on hold again and told me she will talk to her supervisor. A minute later she told me with Lufthansa I have no options, they refuse to rebook because the flight to FRA was not cancelled and left on schedule. They gave me a number to call Lufthansa. I did. Another 3 hours on hold. Within 30 seconds they sent me back to expedia and blamed expedia for giving false info. Also suggested I email Lufthansa customer relations to ask for a voucher. Classic BS.

Yes I booked hotel (actually an apartment) and the host offered 100% cancellation refund as long as it was 14 days before check in. That seemed quite reasonable back in Dec 2019. But I waited too long and didn't cancel hoping to go but you know what happened. Yes I make myself look like a fool but hope others can learn from it and know what to expect and avoid.

Fully agree, it is so far better to be free, to stay longer in one place or another, so many hotel options available specially with a car, the FKK scene will need months to recover if any.

    Internet bandwidth going down

Seemingly. Since so many mongers are now watching internet porn, the bandwidth today is shitty as hell. Could you please give me a break here? (just kidding).

Have a booked flight on United Airlines between March 3rd and March 31st, and you can make changes over the next 12 months for whatever reason with no extra fees or charges. Other airlines are putting forth their own rule changes to help travelers get through this crisis, and to try to protect their own bottom lines.

Ticket 800 USD booked via Expedia total loss. 10 nights hotel stay 650 USD total loss. Was able to cancel the car rental. I feel much worse about the ruined vacation rather than the money. A couple of my favorites ex LR and ex Samya are now both at Finca! Could have been a great trip but all ruined. Just sad.

Traveling would be a nightmare if even possible. Countries are tightening borders fast. Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Ukraine: https://balkaninsight.com/2020/03/13...p-coronavirus/.

Italy alone has over a million Romanians living there. Many work as nurses or take care of the elderly, so these populations might have had more exposure and require more thorough screening. I would say many younger Romanians work in the service industry as well. Bars, restaurants, pubs, nightclubs are being shutdown (Berlin, Rome, Madrid, Brussels). Romanians living in Western Europe by population size one, two, and three: Italy, Spain, Germany: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanian_diaspora.

Many Western European countries will pay six months of sick leave, and the first six weeks of that is full net pay. However, many Romanians (including our dear WGs) work in jobs where it is common to get paid under the table or significantly under report their income.

"Germany, France, Denmark and the Netherlands are among the countries where workers have a right to receive full pay, in some cases for at least six weeks, if they are ill, are quarantined or are told to stay home by their employers."

I agree but it's mostly desperate for money I know quite a few of them already own apartments or houses back home. I would guess a majority of them are poor at managing their finances, have pimp boyfriends, put it all into their houses, or a combo of these. They've been jaded by making fast money and think it'll last. If they go home for an extended period they would also have some explaining to do on how they're able to take so much time off from their "job" and they need money to stay home.

Italy fucked up with no social distancing until it was too late. The path for Salvini has been laid.
