I get photos from girls holidaying with rich Western mongers in swish beach resorts. Girls look sexy in nice bikinis brought from the mongers home country.

Nice photos I say. "Thanks Mr ED. I was on vacation with just my family. We all travel together and have fun."

The Shangri La in Boracay costs 24,000 peso a night. A cocktail there costs 650 pesos. The girls family can't afford 100 peso for a bag of rice from their local sari sari. Do they think we are all so stupid? Hahaha.

Nice photos though. I tell them to keep sending. Some girls have no absolutely no qualms about sending photos while still in the room with the other monger. Cheeky and disrespectful. Hahaha.

Few months ago I had a condo that had a mirror that covered almost an entire wall, floor-ceiling, 4-5 meters length. One of my regulars is a selfie-fanatic and put the mirror to good use many times. Directly across from the mirror is a closet to hang clothes, which has mirrors on the doors. Standing between the closet and the wall mirror can give a look similar to an elevator with mirrors, where you can appear to be yourself many times, infinitely. One day the girl txt asking to come over and bring a friend. "We want a pictures". Um, never say no to this. Did they want *naked* pics? Who cares? They came over and each had an eco bag. The first thing they did was to apply makeup (20 minutes), doing each other's eyebrows with a pencil. They stood a few feet apart in front of the large mirror and went to town taking selfies. Each had a cell phone and I threw mine into the mix and used another of mine to take pics of their pic party. They switched position (left-right) and continued. They sat individually in a chair between the wall mirror and closet mirror and took selfies. Then they sat together in each other's laps and took more such selfies. I jumped into the chair and had them both sit in my lap and we took a few selfies. They took pics of themselves on the bed (clothed, separately and together) and in front of the condo window. Then they changed clothes and did it all again. THEN they changed clothes again and did it a third time. I asked my girl where she got the dress: "I borrow my cousin for this". Check.

What did I get out of it? About 80 pics between two cameras. I was so appallingly unhappy with it that I took them to lunch (we took more pics as they enjoyed 'eat all you can' shrimps). The ladies left with hundreds of pics each. While the lunch cost about 1 K: Priceless. Vain. Vain. Long live pinay vanity.

That was Indonesia. There is no Bahasa translation for brother / sister only the genderless older / younger sibling. Same for nephew / niece.

Many Asian girls have trouble translating male and female relatives. I too was chatting to a special friend once and she asked if I wanted to meet her "brother". I replied wtf would I want to do that so she ran off and quickly returned with a drop dead stunner. "Brother" turned out to be great fun and a keeper for a few days and repeat visits.

I have worked on projects with a couple Korean companies, they can be very sociable but are a very formal people. One Korean that I worked with for several years, drank with often and socialized outside of work many times, still we refereed to each other as Mr Moon and Mr Guy.

They do tend to be very clannish and look down on other cultures but once there is a basis of mutual respect they can be great guys.

The "formality"" you refer to is simply Korean culture. Personal interactions are based on a strict hierarchy that extends down to the form of Korean you use with the other. () typically based on age) A foreigner might be able to by pass that but those interactions are firmly engrained in Korean minds.

For e. G. Did you know that in the Korean mentality, your true "friend"(chingu) must be born the same year as you are? Otherwise, anyone older or younger and the Korean hierarchical social mannerisms immediately take hold (though my younger Korean friends say this this is slowly changing).
