    Worst case imo

Worst case scenario imo is the online dating site scene expands and dominates. Thai girls will still over spend on discretionary items and activities; shoes, clothes, phones, make up, lottery tickets, partying, boyfriend support, etc, will still be underpaid in their regular jobs and will always want and need more and easy money to make ends meet.

Some will pitch themselves online as outright Freelancers with no pretense about looking for one special man rather than the next customer. More will pitch themselves as "looking for a serious, long term relationship."

That latter group is where the classic Short Time session culture will suffer among punters who prefer it. She/They will expect you to live alone in an established residence unless your game is that you are in Thailand temporarily, staying in a hotel, primarily in order to meet her and give her a test drive before committing to a more serious, long term relationship.

If I were an expat already living with a girlfriend or wife but still wanting to score some of that online dating site action on the side, I would look into renting a second small apartment in a convenient location but not in an area where my path would cross wifey's and use that as my dating site girl destination. But you will need to come up with an excuse for no overnights with the new ladies if you must show your face at your first residence before midnight.

Best arrangement for anyone who wants to do just fine with a steady stream of different girls on a daily and weekly basis even if all the go-go bars, beer bars with girls, massage shops and soapies disappeared tomorrow is to live alone in a pleasant residence easy walking distance from a bts or mrt station.

Oh, and you might want to get a vasectomy and always have a current negative blood check document for a couple of the biggies on hand.

I concur. Vast majority of tourists to Thailand are not interested in girls. In fact they come with female company. They are there to take in the culture, sights, relaxation, beach etc. You might see many walking, seeing, visiting girlie bars but that is out of curiosity because sex is in your face. Quite a few are really afraid to touch any of the working girls because of catching some diseases.

Thailand is a cheap tropical destination for people all over the world especially for Europeans. Spain used to be before they joined Eurozone.

Thailand has a heavy resilience on the sex industry. It draws people in. Take away that sex tourisim then you will lose a lot of the trade that comes. That won't happen. Those conservative politicians know where the money comes from to float the economy and its not going to jepordise that. Once covid is out the way the place will be teaming again.

In Thailand, this also presents the perfect opportunity for the authorities to completely kill off the visible prostitution industry. There's a conservative block that's been trying suppress it since the early 2000's, with some success.
Your second paragraph sums it up nicely. I imagine that exact issue is being talked about and is likely what will happen.

I remember mongering in the 1970's and 80's before the AIDS pandemic, sex without a condom was unheard of, everything was on the table and the girls had zero inhibition. AIDS changed all that forever. Adjusting to condom use was hard and banging a hooker was accompanied with a lot of anxiety. If non-mongers knew you were shagging prostitutes they would think you were crazy. In fact the image of mongers sunk to its lowest level. Fast forward to 2020 with a pandemic that is much worse than AIDS at its peak. To think that it will not significantly affect our hobby is serious denial. Recent figures coming out of the US have been swift slaps to my face and I am making mental adjustments to avoid anguish.

Those are two widely different projections for the distant future. Perhaps Crocodilexp is right, but I sure hope he is wrong. Both my big and little head is predicting that Hornyscot is right.

I see two powerful forces that will push for revival of the sex industry. First, the owners of hospitality industry businesses will push very hard for P4P industry (restaurants, bars, hotels, taxi, tours). Pattaya would almost disappear without the P4P money. Patong is more family friendly, but there is still a huge number of people that come for the P4P. Even the more relaxed resort areas, such as Koh Samui, gain much business from tourists who come for P4P. Second, the many farm communities of Issan derive a good chunk of income from their daughters who send money home each month from P4P proceeds. To make it all tie together, many Thai people see nothing wrong with the P4P industry as long as it is done to support family.

Thailand is a poor nation and without P4P it will be much worse. Many Thai people are not well educated and their skills are limited. Industries such as automotive, electronics, and farming will not be able to pick up the slack. Thailand's only choice will be to continue support of the P4P industry or become poorer and poorer.

There was never a moment when in the LOS that I failed to appreciate how wildly great the opportunities were, as if too good to be true. Would it last? Could it last? What if it changed, drastically? I hope for the best but accept that may never be the same. Beyond the financial brutal financial impact, the social impact and p2 p are difficult to envision.

Haha it actually reminded me of an experience I had last year in warsaw. Yes, it was horrible LOL.

Methinks you are right. I'll never pay for that.

Your version seemed a bit apocalyptic compared to the doctor's. A lot of variables involved and I'm sure many which are not fully explored and vetted. The good doctor must rely on his knowledge / experience associated with similar viruses, since COVID 19 is a new one. Accordingly, some of his information must rest solely on that, while some may be pure speculation. I have noted that, when delivering his briefings, he does "footnote" some of his statements on occasion. But, to get back to your question a tab more directly, your inclusion of a "particle" being on a piece of furniture and then ending up in one's respiratory system seems (to me) to be nearly impossible. Maybe I read it incorrectly. If so, please disregard.

Thanks again for the link. I like the doctor's briefings; I find him "authentic" and "authoritative".

In terms of Covid-19 risk, condom or no condom for fucking is irrelevant.

And all encounters while both people are wearing masks, I suppose, to somewhat reduce the aerosol transmission risk.

I would recommend everyone honing their upfront negotiation skills. There might be a whole bunch of new hurdles to overcome in store. And as many new itemized surcharge costs to iron out.
Might as well save the money and wank. Man, this is just awful.
