I cancelled the trip for now. I had bought the tickets three months ago and was looking forward to being back there again. I was going to fly today to Santo Domingo but.

I had an apartment reserved in Puerto Plata but they refunded me with no problems.

The Government of the Dominican Republic is helping all people. Not just giving money to corporations like the government of my country of origin. They may not have much to give. But in this time of need, they are doing what they can. Which is more than I can say about the rich living here in the Dominican Republic.

I can't really state my real views here. I would get banned. But I see the global pandemic as a wake up call to modern society. We are all human. And the virus does not seem to give a fuck about the petty human concerns that tend to fill our lives. This is not a war. This is a basic fight for survival of each individual of the human species. It won't get us all.

Let's hope that saying: "What does not kill you makes you stronger. " is true. This is history gentlemen. We will all be different afterwards!
